In the first loop Emilia said Satella because she tried to scare Subaru away, but Subaru doesn't know who is Satella yet.
Sure, but why did Puck say "You have terrible taste in men" to Emilia when she introduced herself as Satella?
Was Emilia trying to appeal to Subaru and see if he would stick around despite hearing the name Satella (like you said), or was she trying to get rid of him by scaring him?
Was she intending to scare him away, because she likes men different from Subaru? - hence "You have terrible taste in men", Puck is meaning, "why don't you like this guy, you have terrible taste, he's ok, why are you scaring him away" or did Puck mean "why DO you like this guy, you have terrible taste in men, he's insignificant, he's no good" - meaning puck was disapproving...like a father figure perhaps.
I was just confused by Puck's reaction. When he said "You have terrible taste in men" he was either approving of Subaru or disapproving. It's not clear.

Well, in the previous episode, when Reinhard had asked Subaru if there were more problems he wanted any help with or something, Subaru asked him whether he could come to the loot house, but then dismissed it. So, Reinhard was suspicious about that, due to which, he ended up being in the slums
He also has a blessing to read emotions so it was obvious something was wrong.
reinhard can read people well and even read minds, but he doesnt do it, cuz he is a kind knight

Emilia IS her name, and Satella is the name of Jealous Witch. its like Harry Potter introduces himself as Voldemort as a joke, "poor taste" like Puck said.
Well as you can see from the beginning of the episode, Old Man Rom and Felt already said that Emilia have the same characteristics traits as Satella, the Witch of Envy. So she wasn't just giving random name, she just likely wanna test Subaru on the first loop
I'd like you to keep in mind the following things going forward into the series:
1. Reinhard of this world behaves like the typical overpowered isekai protagonist. He's the spitting image of what Subaru envisioned himself to be after he got summoned to this world. Instead he just ended up becoming a fairly normal guy with a weird power.
2. This is the successful loop, yet Emilia hasn't even seen Subaru this time. They didn't spend all the time they did together back in 1A & 1B. However, Subaru harbors huge respect for her because of these lost times and that's why he wants to save her. This relationship dynamic is going to be important later. LOTS of people forget this and get confused later.
3. Reinhard's attacks aren't weak, the Bowel Hunter is simply more than she seems.

Nah, Reinhard is way deeper than the typical overpowered isekai protagonist. His backstory is pretty sad. Dude is pretty much alone until Subaru comes along.
It's fitting that Reinhardt has Gojo's VA since he's basically the Gojo of this show.

yeah reinhard havin same voice as gojo shows how strong he is. we dont see him much in action until the next season but he is definitely the strongest as you should have guessed!

10:11 the concpt is that: for mages and spirit arts users they need to pushout some mana and then form the magic but reinhardt ends up absorbing any mana that leaves their body before it can be turned into a spell if hes fighting seriously
So this is something that is almost never brought up, you might find it interesting since you noticed the ice magic being a different color!
Pucks element is actually fire, while Emilias is water. Water magic creates water thats then frozen and turned into those ice shards. The color of this ice is bluish. But if you notice, Puck and Emilia rn use a greenish ice magic. This is because Puck is actually freezing the air around him and creating ice shards using the moisture in the air from his fire magic (since it can control temperature).
If you notice, Emilia actually starts using blue ice magic at random parts! Like when she saved Subaru, and in the later parts of the fight against Elsa. Other characters we see also use a blue ice magic, while Puck still continues to use his green ice. Later on, we learn magic can be used from either your own “supply” or by borrowing from contracted spirits. So Emilia is basically “using” Pucks magic, which is why she can also fire off the green ice. If she uses blue ice, its her own magic.
Why does Puck do this…? I dunno honestly, I guess cuz he wants to? Re Zero doesnt have any true “ice” magic, its just water and fire magic that can create ice. Puck is very much capable of using water magic, he just doesn’t want to. He is a great fire spirit, so fire is he speciality
So good! And next episode we meet (most of) the rest of the wonderful cast and the show REALLY gets going!
I gotta admit, Subaru has some close combat potential in him. Most of us would've just stared at Elsa blankly before gettin gutted.

If anyone ever wants to know the true definition of OP, just look into Reinhardt's abilities. He is basically unkillable. And if he is killed, he will insta revive and can refresh that ability as well as gain any blessing or ability he wants by simply wishing for it. He's immune to all ranged attacks, absorbs 80 percent of any magic cast at him, will insta dodge any and all melee attacks as all first attacks will always miss and any subsequent attack will miss etc. this is just scratching the surface of his abilities lol. Probably one of the most op characters.
Reinhard saw something about the insignia in Felt's hand that pulled him on duty and now Felt is getting carted off somewhere. So the big question if Subaru dies again is he back at the apple stand?

I feel like the author has chosen the optimal number of death loops in the story in order to promote growth in Subaru while not pushing it over the edge and making it annoying. Like, he’ll often take it too the limit of what viewers can handle, but not further.

the great thing is how he writes the mystery and how it unfolds with each loop, it helps the viewer to keep exciting

Reinhard is the Strongest of the Re0 world, he has at least over 40 secret protection or Increased ability to bless in him. So he is nearly Invincible in any head-to-head combat.

And let's just say about all the questions about Reinhard, to know exactly what it is all about, you need to watch another anime called Insekai Quartet - which would further need you to watch Konosuba (defo watch it) the Saga of Tanya the Evil (again yes defo watch) Overlord (DEFINITELY WATCH IT) to understand that series.
And all for something that is very brief but explains everything, I'll give you the tiniest little hint at the smallest example of Reinhard's powers.
He can tell at a glance the difference between Salt and Sugar, without it being labelled as well. that's just one of his powers.
