The witch of envy/Satella was the one who consumed the others. This witch shown is the witch of Greed
Well, surely someone explained it already on patreon but:
Subaru offed himself multiple times but they did not include this in the anime. The frame before puck came in, where they pan towards the knife on the little desk, that was the reference to that whole part.
By doing so, they actually got there earlier and managed to save Crusch.
After that, he still offed himself but the checkpoint was updated to the scene in front of the bed and that's why he looked so sucked out of live, because he was just offing himself nonstop until then.
No that’s not the reason. Subaru only offed himself once. The reason he looks at the knife is because he offs himself in the bedroom not outside and respawns right before he offed himself.
People misinterpret Subaru saying he’s ready to go back as many times to save rem as him repeatedly dying
He killed himself one time. Admittedly the wording is strange in the novel, but if you pay attention you can note that he does say he regained his sense of reason before doing it.
The whole offing scene is mentioned post-factum. Subaru walked in, saw Rem and stabbed himself on the spot. The return point was literally a few seconds before he stabbed himself. He put the knife to his throat again, but then realized that returning to previous save point is both impossible and pointless - even if he could, there'd still be an impossible choice to make between the two. So he had no choice but to accept the hell of reality.
An interesting bit that was cut out of Ep1S2 but will be relevant in S3.
Wilhelm spoke to Subaru in person and told him he had a personal and selfish reason to uphold the alliance between their houses. He has an old unhealable wound (a mere scratch on his shoulder) as a parting memento from his wife. After her death by the Whale the wound closed and never bothered him. Until recently it opened and started bleeding again. He figured, that staying in the middle of war with the cult, namely Gluttony, is his chance to learn what actually happened to his wife.
That "Who is Rem" scene was an end credit scene in the director's cut and i watch that one so you can imagine the cliffhanger i was left with after finishing season 1

Rem and Crusch had the worst luck in the world when facing Regulus and Lye because no matter what they were going to have to face Lye he was actually looking for them but Regulus was there purely by coincidence 😅 they just so happened to meet one of the strongest villains in the entire series 💀 poor Rem and Crusch, they had 0 luck here
I'm here! Since memory snow was skipped I'll mention anything relevant from it if it does pop up here. Here go the explanations for these episodes:-
1. NOT MANY OPENINGS IN THE EPISODES, WATCH IT. No spoilers in this one, Subjective to me but best opening song of re0 for me, and with visuals its one of the best openings ever list for me. Very few openings & endings are played and episodes are full 25min+ long as the studio paid channels to not have ad breaks. They put their love into this season and some of staff had left to form the staff for Mushko Tensei/Jobless Reincarnation. Plus covid also happened, so some quality drops are there.
2. Petra likes Subaru more cuz rem was erased so she thinks subaru is the only hero, same goes for everyone else like villagers and such.
3. Remember Ram getting blank letter from Subaru, interpretation of which was declaration of war. Now remember who actually wrote the letter? Rem wrote what Subaru spoke so it was more nearly readable & wont irk ram.
4. Felis is the greatest healer. He was healing Subaru's gate & in one timeline when killed by Julius took the full blast while Subaru was protected by spirit yet was up before him & healing others. Imagine how bad state he recovered himself from, so an arm attachment or healing wont be too big to do for Crusch.
5. Frederica was spotted by you people (i think). In the episode where roswaal saves subaru from the dogs, around there when rem is having flashbacks of people asking her "why does she work so hard?" is the question asked by Fredrica then.
6. Beatrice wasnt human was implemented at the first mansion episode. Also spot she calls Fredrica as half-beast, so look out for how she refer to other people (important).
7. Echidna is here! With windows xp background! (and the opening was skipped) And with if Envy consumed other witches. Again guys, not all white haired characters are the same or similar like not all redheads are the same (which is even a joke with Weasleys in Harry Potter)
My favorite character has arrived! Echidna is awesome.
Frederica actually made a brief cameo in S1 during a flashback, and there are a few shorts in Re:Zero S2 Break-Time that show her and Petra just chillin' around the mansion while everyone else is at the Sanctuary. They're not really plot relevant, just comedy shorts (but better to save them for after the season)

Just to get in front of a bit of confusion that almost always seems to happen because the anime never explains this. The archbishops have no connection to the witches. So like for example the Archbishop of Greed has no connection to the Witch of Greed. Archbishops and Witches are just titles for the same thing that have different names due to the time gap between their eras. Basically an archbishop is a modern day witch.
Also Puck's translation subs we're a bit off when he was explaining Gluttony. He's supposed to say Gluttony's authority when explaining it. Which is a call back to how Petelgeuse referred to his Unseen Hands. This is meant to be a confirmation that the name of these powers that Archbishops and witches have are called Authorities. This is how the anime will be referring to these powers from here on out. Subaru's Return By Death is also an authority, as really only an authority could do something on the magnitude of resetting the entire world. Kind of like how Gluttony was able to erase someone from the entire worlds collective memory, authorities scope of power can be really ridiculous.
Which funnily enough means Petelgeuse's unseen hands were honestly very pathetic for an authority.
Subaru being able to see them genuinely nerfed tf out of Petelgeuse tbh. I do agree they’re weaker than other authorities, and knowing how he gets it, it makes sense 100%. With that said, its actually incredibly powerful still.
Insanely powerful hands that can move semi-quick, are invisible, and he can manifest multiple of them. They basically insa kill anyone and can do it stealthily. He almost always has the advantage against someone. Combined with him being able to have multiple lives basically, hes still pretty strong but Subaru basically made his one tool obsolete.
Without Subaru, Petelgeuse is a silent, powerful killer that can seemingly never die to the average person. Wilhelm is genuinely like one of the strongest people in Lugunica, probably top 5-8 or something
Pretty sure all of what u said in the beginning is gonna be explained in season 3

So we got Regulus so far strongest character even when compared to all shows you have seen(including Saitama , but semi tied to Reinhard), it isn’t spoiler of his power but more if scale presentation - his authority is like if Green Baby from JoJo part 6 got Reqieme stand.

That scene wasn’t in the original version of season 1. It’s only I. The Director’s Cut of season 1, and I don’t think they were reacting to the Director’s Cut
