@Peyton Hartsburg turns out he worked as a spy for Dumbledore because he was in love with Harry's mother Lily. He hated Harry because he looked so much like his father, meaning like the man who married lily but at the same time he wanted to protect him because he was Lily's son. He didn't kill Dumbledore to help Draco or Voldemort but because Dumbledore, who was old, fragile and in pain asked him to. And in the end he gave Harry a memory of a conversation with Dumbledore that helped him to fight Voldemort. So technically he was a death eater, but not because he was convinced of Voldemorts goals, but because he wanted to protect Harry and help Dumbledore

There was laughter, there was applause, and of course there were tears as we watched our favorite trio as they grown up into adults. And now today on its 10th anniversary, I would like to say to the filmmakers and everyone involved in this great franchise. Always.

Just watched all 8 films for the first time these past 2 weeks. Now I can't get over the feeling of being lost in this new world I discovered. Each movie got me emotional and just the build-up leading to the end was all worth it and more. Now I'm at the phase where I'm watching behind the scenes for each film, I love it that much.

Reminds me of Frodo Baggins ending and Jon Snow's ending. Those two and Harry are incredibly similar characters. Traumatized from what they went through, all three got some sort of a happy ending with the chance to start again and to heal, but it didn't come without the cost of some serious shit. Seeing horrific stuff and losing people they loved along the way, but against all odds remained a good person trying to do the right thing.

When the seventh and final book was released, I was seventeen. I have grown up with the expectations of the next book year after year, one book after the next, ever since Book 1 back in 97. I miss growing up with that. It was priceless.
Even though this movie came out in 2011, years later and it's still of the only few good finales that the 2010s gave us. It's 2021 and this whole movie and ending are just as impactful as the endings to Breaking Bad, The Leftovers, Big Bang Theory and Regular Show for me.

The ending got me emotional, just finished binge watching the movies on hbo max. It kills me it took me this long to have finally finished watching them. I remember growing up with these movies, had the first 3 on vhs 📼. As I grew, I had lost touch after the goblet of fire. By then, I had only watched the first 6, and some part of part 1. I always forget this was part of my childhood. As people who have said in the comments. Not only did we grow up alongside these characters, we lost our childhood once the saga ended. What an honor to have watched these movies, if only I had watched them sooner.
