Kung Lao has become a weird hybrid of Krillin and Vegeta where he's this salty jealous idiot who's always trying to show up his rival and inevitably fails. I think he deserves better.
Kung Lao is getting that Finn Balor treatment. Started to get a major push in MK9 and took that one bump and has never been the same. In MK12 when Kung Lao comes back, they need to finally give him his push back.

I found it kind of ironic that the guy who played Kung Lao in Battle of the Realms was voiced by the same guy who voiced Liu Kang in MK11. To go from being a fire god in MK11 to getting washed by Shao Kahn in the movie is definitely something lol

He has way more history with them than thottiana ever has(she should not even be beating Lao now so narrative and powerscaling wise, it makes sense But most of his fights were run on shared chapter so there is a chance he might not have fucked him up even tho it makes way more sense with Shao Kahn than thottiana.
@@bdo333 earth realm and out world compete in a tournament, if out world wins 10 in a row they get to merge with earth realm, if earth realm gets 10 in a row out world has to leave them alone forever. The host ( either being Shao kahn or Shang) decides who fight once the opponent is defeated, the host prompts them to “finish them” meaning they can chose wether to kill them or not. Raiden cannot participate because his is a god.

Now that I think about it… I honestly think Kung Lao should’ve at-least been in the intro of Deception with Raiden fighting Quan Chi and Shang Tsung since he was the one who found Liu Kang’s body in Deadly Alliance..

Kung Lao in Shaolin Monks is a beast. He is the Vegeta to Liu Kang's Goku. After his death in MK9 he has been like a clown destined to be a jobber in every History Mode.
he was already lame before mk9. Always looked cool and had stylish combos. But in all the games with voice acting, his personality always came off as lame. Then he's always dying :/

Oh, dear." lol Liu Kang has always been my favorite MK character but I don't think it's fair how Kung Lao is just dismissed as "Not Liu Kang" by the cast. I would rather Kung Lao go off on his own quest and find his own path apart from Liu, instead of living in his shadow as second best Shaolin.
This was painful to watch…and man “battle of the realms” did him so dirty. Shao Kahn basically got a flawless and killed him with his own hat…like c’mon Lao isn’t some random jobber. The live action movie surprisingly did him more justice, but his death was soooo preventable! RIP to my main…
I really do hope that good ending in Aftermath is canon, and we get to see the Great Kung Lao become Earthrealm's champion. It's definitely set up nicely for Kung Lao to finally get his moment.
Form ten years ago till now, I'm fully convinced that Kung Lao is the Vegeta in the series. One of the strongest warriors on the heros side. Beats the low to top tier jobbers. Rivals the MC. Will never get a legit win against the big bad. Its a damn shame.

Everyone's been sleepin on the most underrated duo in Mortal Kombat: the Deadly Alliance. Seriously they killed almost the whole main cast. including Liu Kang. How has no one made a "Respect the Deadly Alliance" video yet?
You said the standout performances in the MK 2021 live action film were from Sub-Zero, Kano and Kung Lao. But most fans agreed, Kabal was done perfectly. He was literally taken straight out of MK11
Kung Lao doesn’t deserve to be killed off. He’s a well respected character. He has a lot of huge powerful juggle combos. He should be much like Liu Kang and the Great Kung Lao and that’s being champion of Mortal Kombat.
They should make Kung Loa the star of MK instead of the Cages or Sonya Blade or Kitana. They should keep the Kung Fu theme. Without Kung-fu it's all about powers and strength. Lui Kang the chosen one because of Kung-fu. MK doesn't feel like Kung-fu anymore. It's more of a warrior thing now, I like this and Kung-fu but Kung-fu was better I think. Which is better for you?
Actually mk11 looked like call of duty to me because all of the scenes when the special forces kept shooting the Netherrealm damons all over the story mode

Hopefully, in the next Mortal Kombat game this new version of Kung Lao from the ending of the last game will avenge all those defeats from the previous games in dramatic fashion.
It’s an especially annoying habit nowadays to kill Kung Lao off for no reason except to add onto Liu Kang’s emotional arc. It’s actually infuriating. He deserves better then to constantly be in Liu Kang shadow (looking at you MK11). Hell it’s probably part of why I have a hard time getting into Liu Kang as a character.

Netherealm studio's really hate him.so dad because he was my favorite in mk2 and how he become its just saddens me he had so much potential in the story of mk
It's a shame they screwed KL over the decade. Prior to Shaolin Monks, KL felt like a docile type of guy. In the original MK 3, he simply retreated and retired before returning to fight because the return of Goro and the death of Liu Kang. Then when SM's came, he was this petty and jealous guy. Ever since then he has kept this attitude and it was just hard to root for this guy. Then they screwed Liu Kang but at least reversed the damage in MK 11. However, KL has yet to see his redemptive light.

Kung Lao When MK Deadly Alliance came out and after Liu Kang’s death I thought Kung Lao was going to be the new center hero protagonist and his ending was one of my favorites but non canon, in MK Shaolin Monks Kung Lao was second to Liu Kang best game for representing what Lao should be. In the mainline at least give Kung Lao this in the OG timeline lost to Main Eventers like MK3 Shao Kahn was meant to motivate Liu Kang and how bad he got beat or if he put up a decent fight we don’t know I like to think he held off pretty good nothing like the new movie that I didn’t bother watching and for MKDA again maybe Shang Tsung had Quan Chi double team Kung Lao or maybe Tsung had allies like Moloch, Drahmin, Kano or the Dragon King’s Undead Army to overwhelm him cause everyone died then in MKA no shame losing to Shinnok. NRS I’m not counting because of power lvl inconsistencies but if I must MK11 was BS he was a side kharacter shown no respect and from what you said about Sonya having a good show in over Kung Lao I’m beginning to think they are becoming woke its only a matter of time.

Kung Lao doesn’t deserve to be killed off. He’s a well respected character. He has a lot of huge powerful juggle combos. He should be much like Liu Kang and the Great Kung Lao and that’s being champion of Mortal Kombat.

They should make Kung Loa the star of MK instead of the Cages or Sonya Blade or Kitana. They should keep the Kung Fu theme. Without Kung-fu it's all about powers and strength. Lui Kang the chosen one because of Kung-fu. MK doesn't feel like Kung-fu anymore. It's more of a warrior thing now, I like this and Kung-fu but Kung-fu was better I think. Which is better for you?
Actually mk11 looked like call of duty to me because all of the scenes when the special forces kept shooting the Netherrealm damons all over the story mode
i like the kung fu more as well. it's actually what got me into mortal kombat back in the day. And i agree, mk11 did feel more like call of duty. or at least like stargate to me lol. or the Alien movies. With military men as the main characters lol. whereas originally they were side characters to the main kung fu theme
As Kung Lao is my favorite mk fighter this hard to watch but it seems he will be treading up in mk12 or at least his ancestor will.
Revenant Kung Lao had a more heroic death than the one he was given in Battle of the Realms, which is pretty sad.

It’s an especially annoying habit nowadays to kill Kung Lao off for no reason except to add onto Liu Kang’s emotional arc. It’s actually infuriating. He deserves better then to constantly be in Liu Kang shadow (looking at you MK11). Hell it’s probably part of why I have a hard time getting into Liu Kang as a character.

It's a shame they screwed KL over the decade. Prior to Shaolin Monks, KL felt like a docile type of guy. In the original MK 3, he simply retreated and retired before returning to fight because the return of Goro and the death of Liu Kang. Then when SM's came, he was this petty and jealous guy. Ever since then he has kept this attitude and it was just hard to root for this guy. Then they screwed Liu Kang but at least reversed the damage in MK 11. However, KL has yet to see his redemptive light.

When MK Deadly Alliance came out and after Liu Kang’s death I thought Kung Lao was going to be the new center hero protagonist and his ending was one of my favorites but non canon, in MK Shaolin Monks Kung Lao was second to Liu Kang best game for representing what Lao should be. In the mainline at least give Kung Lao this in the OG timeline lost to Main Eventers like MK3 Shao Kahn was meant to motivate Liu Kang and how bad he got beat or if he put up a decent fight we don’t know I like to think he held off pretty good nothing like the new movie that I didn’t bother watching and for MKDA again maybe Shang Tsung had Quan Chi double team Kung Lao or maybe Tsung had allies like Moloch, Drahmin, Kano or the Dragon King’s Undead Army to overwhelm him cause everyone died then in MKA no shame losing to Shinnok. NRS I’m not counting because of power lvl inconsistencies but if I must MK11 was BS he was a side kharacter shown no respect and from what you said about Sonya having a good show in over Kung Lao I’m beginning to think they are becoming woke its only a matter of time.
