He always showed up to support his fellow Z Fighters and showed good showmanship to Vegeta even after being behind his death and taking over his life and his place. Yamcha welcomed Vegeta with open arms ever since the return from Namek. Yamcha was wronged on all fronts considering he was not too weaker from Tien or Krillin. Not to mention he holds his own in very difficult matches (going against Kami, Raditz-level Saibamen, and a young Tien).

Tien held down Semi-Perfect Cell with his Neo Tri-Beam,forced Future Trunks to go Super Saiyan in the Bojack movie, and deflected one of Buutenks's attacks. I think that's more impressive than anything Krillin did in Z but nowadays people use his fight with Super Saiyan Blue Goku as to why he's stronger.

@Wu-Entai90 roshi didn't even try to join in the Saiyan saga battle. His power level was like 139. Tien was over 2000 and trained his ass off on kamis lookout. He then trained for like 6 months on king Kais. There is no way in hell roshi should have been stronger.

People really misconcieve that episode. The ONLY reason Roshi was able to beat Tien was because he was powered up by Yurin's witchcraft wich made him stronger and invulnerable to attacks. The context clues are in the episode where you see Tien's students who were regular humans incapable of using ki, to all of a sudden destroying buildings when under Yurin's magic. That's why Goku had to break the seal on Roshi's face to break the spell and stop Roshi. Otherwise Roshi is not stronger than Tien. Even now Roshi can't even fly. Tien even saved Roshi in the TOP later. And one of the writers confirmed Tien is stronger than Roshi.

There are always 4 characters in Dragon Ball who always train: Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo and Tenshinhan. Note how only one of them is an Earthling. The fact that both Toei and Toriyama like to take dumps on any main characters that aren't Saiyans is a huge disrespect to both Piccolo and Tenshinhan's honest efforts to improve themselves.

Master Roshi: Wasn't any relevant in the Dragon Ball Z series, written off as an average human being with his perverted running gags here and there. His relevance ended in Dragon Ball series after King Piccolo Saga, died from a single failed mafuba attempt. Hasn't trained throughout z or super series, becomes a very strong capable fighter able to keep up with a likes like Friezza's henchmen, some other fighters with huge power levels, can dish out several mafuba attempts without completely collapsing performs well in the tournament of power.

To add insult to injury, when Goku was recruiting for the tournament he initially didn't consider Tien at all. Never occurred to him. The only reason he went to the dojo was because Roshi was there.
Tien was done wrong... he has very unique abilities he could of used throughout the tournament arc if he wasn’t that powerful to make him more useful atleast. He sacrificed himself to eliminate a sniper dude that was hiding in the shadows when he could of tri beam him atleast. Haven’t watched the full video yet, but the sad thing all Tien do is train and train. What does he have to show for it? Nothing. At least yamacha is playing baseball and making money and getting women. Krillin started a family with 18. Roshi is retired and came back and whoop Tien and did more in the tournament than Tien.
Roshi got the most illogical powerful in Super and that says something after Frieza got stronger than SSJB Goku with just 4 month of training with no training experience and Android 17 got stronger by beating up Poachers which made him also strong enough to fight SSJB Goku. Tien, on the other hand, couldn't even kill 2 Frieza Soldiers with his strongest attack in the Recolor Frieza arc.
Yeah Vegeta,Goku,Piccolo and Tien train the most in the series.Only time in Z Krillin had a case over Tien was during the Namek saga when he got his potential unlocked by Guru.But once Tien got training on king kai's planet he surpassed Krillin. Cell saga-Buu saga Tien was obviously stronger he never stopped training even in GT.There were multiple occasions where Krillin stopped training,realistically Roshi shouldn't be on the level either Tien or Krillin.He didn't jack shit in Z for the most part he was just sitting on his ass at the Kame house.

Bad writing in DBS,realistically Tien should be stronger than both Roshi and Krillin based on his feats in DB/DBZ and the fact that he's a true martial artist that has all of these techniques and is one of the 4 characters that train the most alongside Vegeta,Goku and Piccolo.

17 turned into a freaking Gary Stu. This is not the same 17 from Z. He acted completely selfless, was super smart and has exceptional hearing that is more impressive than Piccolo's. This is ignoring the fact he can challenge SSJB Goku. I don't care if Goku was holding back. Goku was forced to go SSJB and 17 was even holding back. Goku could have turned SSJ2 or SSJG as well but he went into his strongest form.

The only good thing about the ToP arc of the manga is that a universe got eliminated by not-Universe 7 and the potara fusion between Caulifla and transgender Broly was excused better by being a gamble that could have been an instand elimination for Universe 6.
This was the episode that gave me the resolve for starting a project dedicated to Tien and Chiaotzu because I knew he was never getting the respect his fans deserve. For example Tien is based off of Heaven's GREATEST warrior Erlang Shen and Chiaotzu is a Jiangshi, think a chinese vampire that can friggin EVOLVE INTO A SCOURGE TO HUMANITY aka a DEMON KING (aka Vampires with magic powers on super steroids). Not to mention the Third eye's inspiration to divinity could create an actual connection that which could be easily explored in the show about harnessing the power of Gods. Also the fact that these 2 never stopped training, in fact Toriyama threw them on a 7 year long training journey post Cell Games and forgot he left them there the entire Time Skip.
Honestly, I don't know which was worst. Seeing Tien's character getting ruined or seeing Krillin being the first person eliminated form the tournament of power.
The guy Tien beat in ToP is named Hermilla, maybe "Hermilia", not sure which. He also helped defeat Prum indirectly, and finished Za Pricho. Not too bad a track record. Anyways, I thought Tien's fall was in the Buu Saga. You know, when he was missing for 40 episodes only to come back and do 0 damage to Buu? Super only made it more apparent. Heck, what's worse is Tien technically did more in the ToP than in all of Z combined (in the long term, holding off Cell didn't matter as 18 was still eaten so that's short term). In Z, he eliminated one Saibamen (even then Vegeta finished it off), helped hold off Nappa (similar to the RoF movie in importance), beat Burter and Jeice in filler (who were already dead), and protected Goku from Cell Jrs. His two eliminations in the ToP, assist on Prum, and save on Gohan and Piccolo are technically more clear cut wins and didn't just hold someone off. This isn't supposed to be a good thing, but Tien has always been at the lower spectrum since Z began. He could've helped against Raditz, he should've hurt Buu (who could be damaged by bullets so why Tri-beam failed is beyond me), he could've taken the 5th slot on the U7 team for the Tournament of Destroyers, he deserved a power boost since the Cell Saga, and he probably should've been in GT...at all (I know he has two cameos, but do those count?). The ToP wasn't Tien's fall, it was a long time coming for people to realize where he always was.
This is kinda sad to watch honestly. When you compare where Tien Shinhan started at with Master Shen and Chiaotzu and what they did with him in super it's crazy. He used to be one of the most powerful characters in the roster and now he's pushed aside for the Saiyans even though he continues to train constantly just as they do. I'm a huge Tien fan, he's been my favorite Z-fighter for a long time in all honesty and I hope that Toriyama can give him a chance like the original Dragon Ball days.
This is a actually a bigger issue than people care to admit. It's basically an insult and a slap in the face to us original Dragon Ball fans and Tien fans. People actually wanted to see Tien shine, especially us old school fans. There is no fucking way in hell Roshi should be anywhere near Tien. Toei went out of their way to shit on Tien. Super is illogical trash FULL of terrible writing and trash ass power scaling that makes no sense. The only reason 17 is even back and did so well is because he is Toyotaro's personal favorite character. Tien is not popular in Japan, that's another reason they made him a jobber. It was already that way in Z. Super just made it worse. Even the animation in Super is an embarrassment most of the time. As much as GT was terrible in it's own ways, even GT has better writing and is better than Super. What's truly sad is how so many Super fanboys defend that garbage and just openly accept whatever bullshit Toei shoves down their throats. I was a big Tien fan, and was already dissatisfied with Super when it started. After seeing what they did to Tien, I was officially done with Super. That was the straw that broke the camel's back. And the Tien problem is just a small part of what makes Super absolute trash. The character design for most of the new characters is boring and lazy. Very mediocre. @Wu-Entai90 roshi didn't even try to join in the Saiyan saga battle. His power level was like 139. Tien was over 2000 and trained his ass off on kamis lookout. He then trained for like 6 months on king Kais. There is no way in hell roshi should have been stronger.

People really misconcieve that episode. The ONLY reason Roshi was able to beat Tien was because he was powered up by Yurin's witchcraft wich made him stronger and invulnerable to attacks. The context clues are in the episode where you see Tien's students who were regular humans incapable of using ki, to all of a sudden destroying buildings when under Yurin's magic. That's why Goku had to break the seal on Roshi's face to break the spell and stop Roshi. Otherwise Roshi is not stronger than Tien. Even now Roshi can't even fly. Tien even saved Roshi in the TOP later. And one of the writers confirmed Tien is stronger than Roshi.

There are always 4 characters in Dragon Ball who always train: Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo and Tenshinhan. Note how only one of them is an Earthling. The fact that both Toei and Toriyama like to take dumps on any main characters that aren't Saiyans is a huge disrespect to both Piccolo and Tenshinhan's honest efforts to improve themselves.

It's not really Toriyama but the marketing Department of Bandai and the writing Department Toei. He gives them outlines for the shit it's up for the writing Department along with his protege and whatnot.
Except toriyama is the one out writes the notes. The fact that both tien and krillin got in worse in the manga proves it.

Master Roshi: Wasn't any relevant in the Dragon Ball Z series, written off as an average human being with his perverted running gags here and there. His relevance ended in Dragon Ball series after King Piccolo Saga, died from a single failed mafuba attempt. Hasn't trained throughout z or super series, becomes a very strong capable fighter able to keep up with a likes like Friezza's henchmen, some other fighters with huge power levels, can dish out several mafuba attempts without completely collapsing performs well in the tournament of power.

To add insult to injury, when Goku was recruiting for the tournament he initially didn't consider Tien at all. Never occurred to him. The only reason he went to the dojo was because Roshi was there.
Fortunately that only happens in the anime. In the manga version Tien is the first person Goku mentions outside of the U6 Tournament participants.

Tien was done wrong... he has very unique abilities he could of used throughout the tournament arc if he wasn’t that powerful to make him more useful atleast. To me it felt like the writers of Super know nothing about Tien. He even acted completely differently and has his hands always behind his back.

Haven’t watched the full video yet, but the sad thing all Tien do is train and train. What does he have to show for it? Nothing. At least yamacha is playing baseball and making money and getting women. Krillin started a family with 18. Roshi is retired and came back and whoop Tien and did more in the tournament than Tien.

Roshi got the most illogical powerful in Super and that says something after Frieza got stronger than SSJB Goku with just 4 month of training with no training experience and Android 17 got stronger by beating up Poachers which made him also strong enough to fight SSJB Goku.
Tien, on the other hand, couldn't even kill 2 Frieza Soldiers with his strongest attack in the Recolor Frieza arc.
The same season where 5 minutes of training is equivalent to a zenkai boost and tiens eternal training makes him weaker.

17 turned into a freaking Gary Stu. This is not the same 17 from Z. He acted completely selfless, was super smart and has exceptional hearing that is more impressive than Piccolo's. This is ignoring the fact he can challenge SSJB Goku. I don't care if Goku was holding back. Goku was forced to go SSJB and 17 was even holding back. Goku could have turned SSJ2 or SSJG as well but he went into his strongest form.

This was the episode that gave me the resolve for starting a project dedicated to Tien and Chiaotzu because I knew he was never getting the respect his fans deserve.
For example Tien is based off of Heaven's GREATEST warrior Erlang Shen and Chiaotzu is a Jiangshi, think a chinese vampire that can friggin EVOLVE INTO A SCOURGE TO HUMANITY aka a DEMON KING (aka Vampires with magic powers on super steroids). Not to mention the Third eye's inspiration to divinity could create an actual connection that which could be easily explored in the show about harnessing the power of Gods. Also the fact that these 2 never stopped training, in fact Toriyama threw them on a 7 year long training journey post Cell Games and forgot he left them there the entire Time Skip.

The guy Tien beat in ToP is named Hermilla, maybe "Hermilia", not sure which. He also helped defeat Prum indirectly, and finished Za Pricho. Not too bad a track record.
Anyways, I thought Tien's fall was in the Buu Saga. You know, when he was missing for 40 episodes only to come back and do 0 damage to Buu? Super only made it more apparent. Heck, what's worse is Tien technically did more in the ToP than in all of Z combined (in the long term, holding off Cell didn't matter as 18 was still eaten so that's short term). In Z, he eliminated one Saibamen (even then Vegeta finished it off), helped hold off Nappa (similar to the RoF movie in importance), beat Burter and Jeice in filler (who were already dead), and protected Goku from Cell Jrs. His two eliminations in the ToP, assist on Prum, and save on Gohan and Piccolo are technically more clear cut wins and didn't just hold someone off.
This isn't supposed to be a good thing, but Tien has always been at the lower spectrum since Z began. He could've helped against Raditz, he should've hurt Buu (who could be damaged by bullets so why Tri-beam failed is beyond me), he could've taken the 5th slot on the U7 team for the Tournament of Destroyers, he deserved a power boost since the Cell Saga, and he probably should've been in GT...at all (I know he has two cameos, but do those count?). The ToP wasn't Tien's fall, it was a long time coming for people to realize where he always was.
He does kind of point that out.

This is kinda sad to watch honestly. When you compare where Tien Shinhan started at with Master Shen and Chiaotzu and what they did with him in super it's crazy. He used to be one of the most powerful characters in the roster and now he's pushed aside for the Saiyans even though he continues to train constantly just as they do. I'm a huge Tien fan, he's been my favorite Z-fighter for a long time in all honesty and I hope that Toriyama can give him a chance like the original Dragon Ball days.
This is a actually a bigger issue than people care to admit. It's basically an insult and a slap in the face to us original Dragon Ball fans and Tien fans. People actually wanted to see Tien shine, especially us old school fans. In all honesty, no one gave a fuck about Roshi until they hyped him up, and gave him the most bullshit and illogical power up in all of anime history. There is no fucking way in hell Roshi should be anywhere near Tien. Toei went out of their way to shit on Tien. Super is illogical trash FULL of terrible writing and trash ass power scaling that makes no sense. Toei literally just gave their personal favorite characters bullshit power ups, and shitted on everyone else. The only reason 17 is even back and did so well is because he is Toyotaro's personal favorite character. Tien is not popular in Japan, that's another reason they made him a jobber. But they don't realize(or care) that Tien has a large fanbase outside of Japan. In Super, if you're not a Saiyan or a "God", you will just be there to job for the main villain. It was already that way in Z. Super just made it worse. Even the animation in Super is an embarrassment most of the time. Any REAL Dragon Ball fan can see what Dragon Ball Super really is; nothing but a desperate cash-grab and shitty fan-service for millennials. Any self-respectable Dragon Ball fan does not even acknowledge Super or take it seriously. I sure as hell don't. Super is basically the GT of 2018. As much as GT was terrible in it's own ways, even GT has better writing and is better than Super. What's truly sad is how so many Super fanboys defend that garbage and just openly accept whatever bullshit Toei shoves down their throats. I was a big Tien fan, and was already dissatisfied with Super when it started. After seeing what they did to Tien, I was officially done with Super. That was the straw that broke the camel's back. And the Tien problem is just a small part of what makes Super absolute trash. The character design for most of the new characters is boring and lazy. Very mediocre. Jiren is such a corny ass villain and character altogether. Boring, generic, no depth. Just strong for the sake of being strong and plot-armor. Zeno is probably the worst character of all.
