  • Hello Everyone And Welcome Back! Today with it being now LESS THEN A WEEK till the new season I thought we should go over the most controversial decisions made under the new Russell T Davies era with the contribution of Disney. Seeing as it has been said by Millie Gibson herself this season will be controversial I think this list may be outdated very soon, so after the new season I may have to do an updated version! But eitherway I am looking forward to the new season and cannot wait to see how it turns out!
    I hope you all enjoy Space Babies and The Devil's Chord, let's hope they're good ones!

    I still find it absurd that we had a past doctor's face come back for the first time, the doctor's clothes change during regeneration for the first time, the 10th Doctor's face and Donna coincidentally meeting, Donna's meta crisis resolving so easily, and the bi-generation for the first time, all be events closely related to the return of the celestial toymaker whose entire deal is manipulating reality, and yet NONE of the difficult to swallow things I listed were the result of the toymaker. Such an easy solution right there, and they didn't do it! Especially in addition to how the toymaker was so underused in his one episode.

    It should be called season 14. Also I don’t like the sonic screwdriver right now. It looks like our TV remote I don’t mind them bringing David Tennant back. It was just nice to see him again. as for the Bi-regeneration on it as well this should not be a Disney show. It’s BBC first and foremost.

      I will neverrrr understand his justification for the sonic change - saying it previously resembled a gun? RTD is just constantly overcorrecting problems that never existed in an effort to be socially progressive… all the while putting literal misandry front and center in episodes like The Star Beast.

    I've never understood Russel's refusal to regenerate Tennant in Jodie's clothes, considering he casts a Drag Queen to play a villain in the new series. Her outfit was also designed to be purposely androgynous.

    Why some people buy replica sonics they are basically buying a torch every time at least it looks different this time probably so it can be a quick visual to USA viewers that it can do a lot like a STAR TREK tricorder

  • @PaulRichards-vz4pl
    @PaulRichards-vz4pl Před 26 dny +1

    I wish RTD would keep away from Doctor Who. The bi-generation is terrible as it totally undermines the new Doctor and to have the new Doctor introduced in his underpants is terrible. Imagine if Chibnall had done that to Jodie he’d have been crucified. Now if the new Doctor is in danger it won’t matter because he’s got another copy of himself on earth! Regeneration was the perfect way to hand over the Tardis keys to the next Doctor but that’s been trashed in favour of turning the Doctor into a tapeworm! RTD doesn’t care as he’s turned into Monarch from Four to Doomsday. Great video. Good to know some aren’t willing to just go along with everything Russell T Davis does. I’d have loved to see a new set of show runners, a team effort like Classic Who. One man having too much power over the show isn’t good.

    there was no cotreversy about jodies clothes. they were clothes that FIT a woman but they weren't WOMEN'S clothes. they weren't a dress or minny skirt or very short shorts. that entire costume was chosen specifically to be the least feminine.

    As much as I love RTD, it seems either he's trying too hard or Disney's influence is very heavy handed. Some decisions seem to be forced. I'm all for woke and all that. But why work so hard on casting Beatle's members that look like the originals, but then have the inventor of mavity, look nothing like the historical figure? Is it because the Beatles were in our lifetimes? And the Davros chair thing. I think that offended more people than not. More of an insult it could be taken as walk-challenged people aren't smart enough to invent an entire new race of evil mutants.
    These are minor annoyances. I like the fantastical direction the show is taking. It looks like it's going to be fun. I prefer my Who darker like some of the novelizations in the lost years, but I'm still all in on the "cosmic joyride".

    It is all about "before" and "after" - the classic series was from the last MILLENIUM, and this millenium (21st century) the New Who seasons started - the tv-movie playing out the time of the change between 1999 / 2000 (even if it got aired in 1996). The NEW counting tries to embrace the Disney era and starts with a Doctor after the devastating flux (in the show) or the lockdowns from Covid-19. Counting the show's different "blocks of distribution" should be handled like the twitter problem: officially it should be called X (says the current owner) but it is stiöö called by the name, the public learned to trust - or ex-twitter, because it "should not be called" twitter anymore (by the demand of the owner) just lets mis-pronoun those services, as long as everybody still knows, what is meant by the user-preferred name...
    The Doctor is always The Doctor - numbers or names of actors just help to sort the time-line for us humans or UNIT files - always the same character even if one version is played by different actors like the 1st Doctor or different numbers get attributed to ONE specific actor, like David Tennant (but some voice impressions were done in the Big Finish releases by others and Jacob Dudman is good for more than one of the "new Doctors"). The 14th Doctor revealed himself to UNIT as someone, who knows the whole "new Who" era - or the impending bigeneration would have been quite traumatic for their whitnesses: His grasp of the time-lines or his potential future is something we do not really understand., but his sense of probably only having a short stay, makes him especially vulnerable...
