My Dad is a narcissist who was bitter towards my Mom for not staying with him (even though he wasn’t treating her right) so he completely abandoned all of us as punishment to her. He literally told this to me. I tried to reconnect with him later in life and chile he has not changed. He only talks about himself and doesn’t take accountability for his behavior. I count it a blessing now that I don’t have anything to do with him.

I appreciate your evolution on the parent topic. You’re aware of some of my struggles with my biological mother. I’ve had to go no contact with her to protect myself. She is truly not good for my mental health. I made the decision when everyone still had the “but that’s still your mother” mindset. It was tough to make the decision without support but I had to do what I had to do for me. Now I’ve tried to not publicly disrespect her but that’s just me. Without knowing what’s going on with Doja, I definitely can’t judge her decision about sharing her feelings with us.

I understand where Doja is coming from, not even sure if she even believes in the Bible but I will say my dad showed favorites when it came to my two brothers as I’m the only girl.
My dad would give my brother a hard time but was easy on our younger brother who was by my stepmother. He use to say some of the worst things possible about my brother when he would get into trouble at school like most boys go through.
Well my youngest brother 26 was murdered now 2 years ago, people told my dad he was to hard on the wrong son our entire life. I dad took it hard and had to strokes & died 3 months after my youngest brother and I had to buried back to back and it was hard.
For the life of me I couldn’t get my brother to care one bit, he showed up to the hospital for support of me but not my dad.
He didn’t say goodbye or drop one tear. He came to the funeral for me but when he did break down he was upset. Said my dad still left us behind for the only child he ever cared about and he had no love or respect for him.
Some people just won’t honor someone who wasn’t there for them even if they are a parent.
Hi Aunty Rox and Roxstars…. I live out here in the Netherlands. Yes before the US, it was legal to smoke weed out here. Weed is legal to an extent. It is known to be tolerated and controlled. Amstersdam’s legal limits under the cannabis laws is you can only be found with 5 grams on you. From my understanding her pre rolls were way more grams than that about 300 grams. Also under no circumstances can you fly with marijuana. The Netherlands I think is the only European country that have laws where you can legally smoke in shops and the such. England (her next stop) it is illegal. It was not sabotage, it’s the law. 🤦🏾♀️
I didn’t have a great relationship with my dad, however, I believe every word of my Lord and savior, so I honor him (respect) that doesn’t mean I let him treat me any way, I just love him from a distance and show respect.
You must be speaking for me. I’m a Christian and there were times when I thought I was going to h**l behind my dad. My mom told me to forgive him for my sake bc it was causing me pain but he was probably sleeping just fine at night. I forgave him & so did my mom and he has never once apologized or even acknowledged the wrongs he has done. That’s fine with me I just love him from afar and check on him occasionally.

I’m glad you acknowledged that there are f’d up parents out there. I have two. It’s disheartening because I’ve always tried on my end to have a better relationship. But they are very negative to my overall well being. I learned they are who they are and they really don’t treat me well.
