I had an angry child, he used to punch the crap out of me over and over, I would hold his hands or leave the house and stand outside, whatever I could think of. One day when he was about 7, he walked up to me and punched me out of the blue, it gave me such a fright, without thinking I instantly punched him right back, knocking him on his arse. He looked absolutely stunned. Never punched me again. He's 17 now and the joy of my life. I guess sometimes you just need to shit in their bed so they know what it feels like.

If you have a child who behaved like this sooner or later someone is going to knock them down and I think it's better it comes from someone who loves them and wants the best for them ultimately than someone in the outside world that doesn't care about your child. The most dangerous place in the world is in between a mother and her child. When he chose to harm the baby, Mom no longer viewed him as "her son", he became "my daughter's attacker" which gave her the adrenaline to blast him. If say the dad puts his DNA in and there is unknown DNA on an open murder case(s) it would come back as a certain percentage match showing a father/son DNA link. The mother may be a boxer, but she's still a woman. I know people like to deny facts in this modern age of false equality, but the facts remain that the strongest woman will still get her butt kicked by the average male fighter. So, while he got his teeth knocked out and was smashed around for a while, she very likely was unable to deal lethal damage.
Judging by the state he was described to be in (Vomiting and loss of consciousness), the only result of the beating was loss of teeth and blood, as well as a concussion.

I have a brother like this. My earliest memories of him are him lying, stealing, hurting me, and hurting animals. Years later, coincidentally, my mom said he was also an inconsolable child. Eventually, after my parents divorced, he left my Dad's house, to live with my mom, who had nearly no rules. 20 years later however, she kicks him out too. He mooched off of her, never having a full time job. stole money from her and my sister, trashed my moms house as a parting gift, and then he moved across the country, and sent my sister a text saying that he hates us all, and that we suffer horrible before we die and see him in hell. Very strange. His anger always seemed unprovoked, but not constant, just erratic. Nobody in my family has heard from him in the years since then. I still think about him sometimes. Sociopaths are definitely born that way sometimes, but some people still think my parents must be monsters because "nobody is born evil". Evil? no, but definitely broken.

@Steven GENNERO Bootz Okay, so I've given it a lot of thought and these are the actors I've imagined in the roles of Art and Lisa and their son. I mean, I am convinced this story could work as a movie. I'd love to start working on a screenplay lol. So as the Dad I see John Krasinski from "A Quiet Place", as the Mother I see Mary Elizabeth Winstead from "10 Cloverfield Lane" and "Birds of Prey" (she played Huntress), because she's beautiful and she kicks ass...and as the son I see Emjay Anthony. He would be perfect. He's seventeen so his age is exactly right and he resembles both John Krasinski and Mary Elizabeth Winstead so he could definitely pass as their son. He's been mostly cast in kid roles (he played Mowgli in "The Jungle Book") but as he's getting older he's doing more adult films. Just Google his name and check him out against the other two and see if you think he'd work in the role of the son. 😁

I believe there are perhaps many of us walking around with a proverbial "Pandora's Box" in our heads to some extent.
In regards to the *"Nurture vs Nature"* question....
🤔 Well, that's still about as clear as mud to me but lean more toward the nurture position.
But as I said it's just not clear.
And....That may be biased wishful thinking as I didn't get hardly any nurturing in life.
I have a remarkablely high pain tolerance and ability to shut out psychological manipulation attempts as a result of my childhood "discipline".
But grew up on a farm and currently living the farm/ranch life happily with my wife of 20+ and the kids in Central Texas. 😊👍
We name our pets not our food.
Animals as a contributing factor in my childhood relationships in retrospect.
With them, I believe it helped me become a more balanced human being so.....
I have impulses that "pop into my head" I soundly reject as irrational-immoral-unethical regarding various situations that could be more than hypocritical if I were to open those gates to Hell.
      But don't. Locked Shut!
But I've also seen many other veterans return to civilian life with irreparable mental trauma.
Beautiful...loving....wonderful human beings ...mentally scared so bad from constant oxymoronic reality of life in a HZ they were just "empty shells" in many ways afterwards.
The person they were is currently on proverbial "life support" if not figuratively "dead as a door nail" already.
      War...is Hell.
I grew up in a cult influenced version of Hell.
Please support the returning servicemen and women you know.
*You* Just might save their quality of life. 👍
My inlaws are remarkably loving, kind, patient, and understand I will never be normal.
But I understood I wasn't ever going to be normal as even a child.
It's a lot harder IME for those that assumed they *ALWAYS WOULD BE NORMAL* regardless.
"We are all a little crazy here." Cheshire Cat.
And Thanks *heaps* to those that recognize it.😉
And especially those that gave me a seat in the "Whirly Bird" when I was finally willingly to take my turn.
      😘 Love ya All!!! 🍻
