- Hey, how's it going everyone?! Welcome to Soloing the Ark. I'm Phlinger Phoo. In The Underdogs series, I plan on seeing just how far the Dino's no one ever cares about can actually go. Can Hyena's Take on the Broodmother? Can Calicotherium fight the Overseer? Can you run the caves with just an Iguanodon? I plan on finding out, for the little guys, the dreamers, for the UnderDogs! I look forward to testing out so many things in this challenge!

I love these bears so much. I always tame and breed these. 1. You get insulation from cold while riding 2. Good gatherer - berries, fiber, meat, hide and honey! Great to bring along for taming in the earlier levels before kibble. You can get mejos or prime with these guys! Amazing! 3. Pretty damn fast if the area is clear of things to run into. 4. Great damage and pretty tanky.
In true ark fashion you have a nearly dead dire bear knocked out. The baryonix tries to attack the low-hanging fruit of a sleeping bear. And then, as if things aren't stressful enough, Queue the rain!
Strange that they made the Dire Bear so slow in the water. Real life bears are awesome swimmers
Yeah its quite funny how slow they are at swimming for some reason
On mobile these guys swim fast enough to explore the deepest ocean but we can also increase our swim speed by pumping oxygen, I regularly go ocean caving on my bear as it can stay under water for about half hour at a time with 1400 oxygen, and with 2500 stamina you don’t even notice your on a land mount and it can slay alpha creatures in ocean.
Great episode bud, bears have 2 attacks with different damage numbers. Also when you level one up, listen carefully and it says... baby's got back.... I swear it does. Keep up the good work bud.
hahah I'll listen closely next time
I wish the anti meshing wasn’t so bad to go up the mountain like that with my bear. Every mountain I’ve encountered has been anti meshing hell.. I just kind of gave up until they really update areas in the map. Love the vid !
I don't know your house layout, none of my business, but when you were fighting the alpha carno, I swear I was hearing upstairs footsteps. lol Made me think my wife was home. I wonder if your new mic is picking that up more than normal. Either way, it sounds great!
haha, I am upstairs in my office :P Now I'm worried.... People living in the walls?
I always tame at least 1 or maybe 7 dire bears in my playthroughs😅
They have a good health pool for their size and can make something dead as quickly as possible. I LOVE dire bears
I love dire bears, on servers where they don't let you tame rexes and gigas I focus on them
New mic sounds good. Dire bear babies are the cutest 😊. Thanks for another great video
Great episode, love the bear, what's not to love, I love how the sit up when they level up, it's great.
Good afternoon Phlinger! Love this series. Love the dier bear but don't tame them often for they die before have it sleeping 😅😂
Good afternoon Phlinger and Phamily!
Awesome test! I think you nailed your assessment! I wonder how a flock/pack/group of Direbears would do in a boss fight. I hope you have plans for that! 💗
Tbh feel like they need a little bit of buffing considering bears are good swimmers it feels funny how slow they swim ingame and they should be able to climb trees and stuff
On mobile the dire bear will keep his max speed even when his weight is maxed out, being burdened doesn’t slow it down, also on mobile they swim like fish and are hands down the best mount.
Phlinging in the rain. 😂
Loving this serious love the bear. :)
With 200 Explorer notes which allows you to collect one Explorer note per Dino and those notes would help you level any Dino quickly
37:12 out of context this is crazy.
Yeah, I was thinking an 8 on Dire Bear.
Dire Bears are absolute units, I saw a low level take on and defeat a raptor pack.
About the wild bee hive thing, what I did was build a small platform against the cliff, then just drop the direbear onto it. It always saved me the hassle of keeping a bee hive, because 15 honey per time is quite alot, though to be honest it isn't a very big advantage
It takes the tediousness away from taming a bee though which I welcome. I always make platforms for easy harvesting and park a dire bear near a hive. Or even better find two hives near each other and you got 30 honey every 15 min. which is actually a really big advantage imo with how long it takes hives to produce honey. I usually use tree platforms on redwood trees that have hives for this reason where I can harvest sap and honey at the same time.
I agree on both fronts BUT honey goes bad so fast even in a fridge that getting. Queen bee and having honey in there at base is much better. Plus kibble can go through honey super quick.
@@scottm8308 I have a base near where phlinger is next to that metal area is and it surprisingly doesn't spoil that fast in the fridge.
It keeps for quite awhile actually, I just harvest it keep it on the Dino for the trip and it lasts for like 2 in game weeks or longer which is plenty long enough for me🤷♂
I've seen people do boss fights with imprinted dire bears and do really well.
Dire bear hits so hard it turned that cat inside out in one hit.
Hey phlinger great videos man,I want to start the fjordur map do you have a soloing series just on that map.i could follow.
AFAIK his only fjordur series is lost island / fjordur
Basically a very poor survivor's Andrewsarchus.
They should be able to climb, at the very least.
Dire Bear is such an Awesome Creature. ❤
My biggest complaint with dire bears in game is that they can't climb which is a bit annoying considering most of the honey is up in a tree on the island. Due to this basic flaw in their design I usually just end up making a platform near a hive and parking them there and never realizing their true potential 😥🤣🤣
Dire Bears are great if you can get through the torturous process of taming one. Their torpor to health ratio makes it very tricky. The low health is a bit of an issue too, but a good saddle helps a ton.
Loving the Under Dogs series Phlinger! Battle Ankys are definitely a lot better than I originally thought, but their speed is most certainly an issue for using one as a primary mount.
I no wen I arrow the sharks they turn tail n run away instead of coming at u
great job not looking at the candy on the tree. (8:09)
Good eye!
👍👍🤗🤗🐶🐶
Why not use tranq darts
12:00 You can't tell me Phlinger wasn't about to say "Thanks Brian!" Instead of "Thanks Trike!".
Proof the show is scripted and Brian is clearly one of many paid actors for events like these.
Um, that was Jeremy...
