    I learned by panning one palette that I don’t want to buy a large palette ever again. So I haven’t. It was a really amazing thing to learn. I hated using shades when I didn’t want to, so I stopped buying things if I didn’t love every shade in the palette. I haven’t found a large palette that I love every shade in, and my space and money is worth more than that.

      MissMargaret you do t have to like or use every shade to “get your moneys worth”, for example, many brands , a 16 pan palette is cheaper than 4 singles!! So even if you like 1/3 of the shades, you’re “getting your moneys worth”. You can also use the cream colour for your primer set, any darks for brows and undereye, etc.

      @sparkybish Před 6 lety +4

      It's also about space for me. And what I use. Which is basically three shades. I have all I need. Of course, saying that, EmilyNoel released her Makeup Revolution collar and I did buy that because I have been watching her for 10 years. She was my first beautytuber, and I wanted to support her. I might give it to my 20 year old daughter, but I love Emily, so it happened. Literally posted this, and bought the palette 8 hours later. I know I won't use every shade in it, but the value in it in also sentimental. When it is empty I may keep it still.

      Can I just say that Too faced green combo you were showing has me so inspired for Christmas makeup? I cannot get it off the brain because I want to use Lemmy with silver from LORAC pro 2 and strutter and haven't figured out the highlight but I am ready for wearing it!!! Thank you for inspiring me to shop my stash!

    Great tips! I loved the ones about moving outside your box. Even though i pan i tend to do the same looks over and over but i need to diversify

    You are my panning queen. I agree that you have to have consistency. And I have learned how to properly multitask because of your videos over the years. I've always hated blue eyeshadows and I'm trying to learn to get used to it on my eyes so I can pan them. Your tips are absolutely perfect. Can I share this video in our PANtastic Ladies Facebook group? I think this information is so important to newer panners.

    Lovely tips! What has helped me a lot this year is to adjust my goals. I don't wear makeup daily, so it made more sense to me to use my pan that palette once a week. I'm successful so far, I'm not bored of my palette, I have gotten some great use of the palette and I'm still motivated to keep going! 😊

  • @janelles5444
    @janelles5444 Před 6 lety +3

    You are so inspiriational! Yes to the consistency. If you want to use up a palette, but you only use the palette once a week, you won't use it up. I use my PTP's exclusively daily and still don't use it completely in a year. I think my favorite thing about PTP, is the sense of accomplishment. When I hit pan or finish a shade, I feel so accomplished and good about myself! You can do way more than you think if you truly do use it consistently and embrace every shade as it is, not what you want it to be.
    Thank you for these lessons! You're by far my favorite project panner!

    I'm bummed that I've had to go on a no buy the day before the Sephora sale! I'm so glad you mentioned mixing a brown and yellow shadows to create the mustard colour because that's the shade I'm pining for right now.

    Amber - these are such excellent tips, not only for panning but on how to get the best use out of eye palettes. I also had an aversion to golds and pinks/peaches then when I just decided to try them - I was shocked that I liked these colors and also got so many compliments while wearing them. I love that I've grown from always wearing so many greys or always a darker/stronger smokey eye look to wearing lighter softer more girly eye looks - it wouldn't have ever happened if I hadn't been trying to use all the colors in each of my eye palettes.

    Your videos have inspired me to work on panning the Tartelette in Bloom palette this coming college year. It's an easy to use palette that I can create quick, everyday looks with. I hope to at least pan three shades, but I also want to give some love to my three other palettes in my collection. Thank you for encouraging me undertake Pan That Palette!

      Emily D. That’s ambitious! On one hand, Tartelette and Tarteletter in bloom is one of the best palettes to pan in terms of being happy with the shades- but the pans are big and the product goes a long way.. I wear eyeshadow every day and it took me 1.5 years to hit pan on my favourite shade on Tartelette OG “best friend”. I eventually hit pan on another shade and rehomed it because I got the Tartelette 3pack for Christmas. The girl who got it was Over the moon 💕💕

      Some days I don't have time to do a full face of makeup due to early morning classes. Maybe I'll just stick with trying to make bigger dents in the shades I like most.

    Very good tips to go by, I just turned 50 and I find myself gravitating towards Lancôme and maybelline. Not too many large pallets but I still have a purchasing tendency that needs to get under control!!!!!!!

    I am just starting my Makeup Journey, but I think that "Pan that Pallette" is a great skill for me to develop this year. Both mom and I are going to take on this makeup challenge together and we're going to do this with not just with our shadows, but also with other makeup products too. Just from watching the Pan that Pallette videos I am learning that I really need to ask myself how is this makeup pallette going to add to the collection that I already have? Thank You Ms Amber for creating this MakeUp Challenge.

    Some really wonderful lessons! I especially love your tip to create frankenshadows or frankenpowders. Until I started watching panning videos I never really knew that was a thing people did! It's such a good way to get use out of colors I don't really like, if I can find a way to combine them with something else.

    I love that you did this! Since knowing of your channel and your tips and tricks I’ve finally started hitting pan. After I let go my KVD panning idea I decided to go for a operation pan porn idea instead and now I’m really working through product. Now I’ve taken all my fave Natasha Denona shades and put them in a 28 palette and I’ve hit pan on like 4 shades. That might not sound like a lot but for me a girl who had never hit pan was huge because her shadows are huge. I love your tips, you are a master of this and continually check your channel for this sort of stuff. You’re the panning sensei! Also when your done with the KVD and moving things out, I suggest checking out viseart editorial Brights or the colored rain vivid pigments. ALL matte gorgeous color. You know panning, but girl I KNOW my Brights 😂 I have hit pan in Editorial Brights cause I use it every day as my anchor for colorful looks. You’re the best though! Like your probably my favorite thing to watch on the tube. Your so positive and uplifting, you’ve helped me stop the constant purchases. You’re the panning fairy godmother 🧚🏻‍♂️

    I really am appreciative of your panning wisdom. I've just been buying and buying this year, and I'm reaching the point where I know in my heart of hearts that I do not need to buy ANYTHING more for quite some time. I have multiples of every possible type of makeup. I think I'd like to shift the majority of my attention to what I have and go deep with using it. I actually have started with trying to go through the very large collection of sample sizes that I've collected. It seems like a low-challenge place to start to ease me into this. It really does feel great to empty something and toss or recycle it! It also feels good to practice telling myself "no" to things, looking at it critically, and realizing I truly do not need "whatever it is" at this time.

    Thanks for sharing Amber! I’ve learned that I’m pretty good at hitting pan but less successful at actually finishing things. But I’ve been having so much fun with my stash that I haven’t really been tempted to buy any eye shadows so I’m happy with my panning journey so far.

    I’ve actually been buying a heap of singles...each time I’m drawn to a palette I try and dupe it with my singles. Mostly I’m successful .
    I recently saw the MAC Patrick Star eye quads and I thought they were lovely. I was able to dupe, now I’m not lusting over them anymore.
