BB's legacy had already been muddied and dirtied by dumping on Brady. BB had a chance to prove the Dynasty was all about him and the opposite was true. He was nothing without Brady and Brady won a SB without him immediately the year he joined the Bucs.

@@JohnSmith-nj4zq that’s not what happened. Brady didn’t look great his last season in NE. Patriots didn’t have enough weapons. TB12 joined a stacked team and steered them to a chip. The one criticism is that BB may - like everyone else - have underestimated TB12 at the end. But he wasn’t trying to prove anything. He was doing what he always does: move on before the person sucks. Anyway … the anti-BB stuff is just absurd stupidity. Great coaches must have a QB. Name one multiple SB winner without a good QB. But you must have a great coach, too. Marino and Rogers underachieved bc they never had great coaches. BB and TB12 are Lennon and McCartney. You can’t separate them.

@@17NateJohnson Bill was in charge of Roster construction and drafting by the end of Brady's career as a Patriot. Therefore Brady didn't look good in that season because Bill took too much power and failed to build around Tom in the end. Also, do you not remember that he had his old D coordinator and Special Teams coach running the offense a couple years ago, right when Mac Jones started failing after a promising rookie season? He did some stupid things near the end of his time. It doesn't mean he wasn't at one point a great coach, but he did make some big mistakes at the end he didn't usually make. We have less info than the people involved. If there were issues BTS, I wouldn't be surprised considering some of the "Tactics" used by the Pats during his tenure and the choices made late in his career. If there were issues, it would make sense that he stopped tolerating the issues once the winning stopped. This situation of why didn't such a great coach get hired is similar to the Eric Bieniemy situation a few years ago. On the surface it appears Eric should have been a head coach, but information we didn't have told a different story. Then last season we find out Andy Reid was really the mastermind as the Commanders fail offensively with Eric in charge (with character issues and an inability to adjust to his team's strengths being revealed) and the Chiefs' Offense still plays well despite having less talent than in years past. We can comment on things and be outraged, but unless we are in the room, all we can go on is what we are given and what we can see. What we could see is a coach who had full control that shouldn't have played GM and should have had someone with enough authority besides the owner in the room to hold them accountable. Pete Carroll did that too and their drafts got ugly after the 2012 draft until the owner stepped in and they started drafting good in 2022, but by then the damage had been done to the roster. These last 2 drafts and the DK Metcalf pick are what saved the Seahawks from being a bottom 5 team. The Legacy damage to both Bill and Pete from those down seasons at the end was done already, we're just getting a public hint at the problems that were already there and more of what's already been exposed. There was already reported tension years ago about trading Jimmy G to the 49ers between Kraft and Bill.

I think that if Kraft said anything to Arthur Blank, it was the fact that BB wants control & final say over matters when important decisions are made. Belichick stated as much in one of his last press conferences before departing NE. He was asked if he were offered a diminished role in GM duties, would that be acceptable in order to continue coaching. His answer was basically that someone has to make the final call when people in the organization disagree & it might as well be him. I'm sure he feels as though he's earned that. Also, there probably was some "campaigning" in the Falcons organization against his hiring because of that fact. And that is why he wasn't hired. The entire affair reveals as much about Arthur Blank as it does about the Kraft/Belichick relationship.

It's amazing that all of the sports media reporters and commentators never talk about the big, obvious elephant in the room with Belichick. The inarguable truth is that he has been a NFL head coach without Tom Brady for 11 seasons - a large sample size by which to judge a guy. In those 11 seasons he is 17 games under .500, has had 8 losing seasons, only two playoff berths and only one playoff win. To top it off, in his last playoff appearance the Pats' defense (his specialty) played what has to be one of the worst games in the history of the NFL playoffs (allowing touchdown drives on EVERY opponent offensive possession exept for the last one which was a kneel-down by the opponent QB2). That kind of resume would have any head coach unemployed. Without Tom Brady Belichick is basically Vic Fangio - a terrific defensive coach with a career losing record and no HC job.
Couple all of the above with the FACTS that BB is a difficult, arrogant guy who has offended a lot of people (including team owners) along the way and would have been 72 for the start of the 2024 season and I say that the really amazing thing would have been if someone had hired him for 2024. Honestly I can't see anyone hiring him for 2025 - I'm sure glad that my team isn't considering him.

Wow, now that would be yet another happy ending for Robert Kraft.

The argument people will see the affable side of BB in a TV gig doesn’t make sense. It just proves he’s a fake and a fraud. Just be who you are, the studio wresting gimmick personality is tiresome..

Bellichick is the greatest fraud of all time. He has a losing record without Tom Brady. Neither he or his protégés could win without Tom. Tom won a Super Bowl without any of them in his forties. It’s wasn’t “The Patriot Way”. It was “The Brady Way”. The patriots legacy without Brady is losing.

Rich E thinks a guy who has been a grade A a-hole is going to be a hit as a commentator? What planet does he live on? Rich strikes me a great guy with a wide swath of friends. But some bitter a-hole guy ... the opposite of Rich himself will succeed. I think Rich has lost some perspective.

You OBVIOUSLY have not seen Bill do anything else but stomp around the sidelines. If you had seen him on some of these other shows as a commentator, you wouldn't say something so incredibly ignorant.

I want to say, those teams that declined to hire Bill also don't want those three assistant of his.

Kraft stopped inviting Belichick to massage parties down in Florida, that's my bet.

Albert Breer, without saying it. Owners want championships, but want coaches and management to kiss the players asses.

Kraft was telling the truth. Bill comes across as an arrogant misanthrope. My partners were team physicians for another NFL team and the way Bill spoke too them and a neurosurgeon who were trying to help with an injured player was appalling. Bill made his bed and now he has to sleep in it.

The doc was produced by the Kraft family. You need to understand that.
