So, when you read Asian lanuage, you should keep in mind that there is less "rhyme" compared with your language. He well tought how to pronounce in the video. My name is Welsh but it fully complies with English pronunciation and it's extremely straight forward to say. You can read it and immediately know at least roughly how it's pronounced. I live in an area in which lots of people have Irish names, authentic Irish spelling and all. Somehow when someone sees the name Ruaidhri they always automatically know it's pronounced "Rooree". When they see my name (which is about as phonetic as it gets) because it's unfamiliar they come out with all sorts of nonsense. I now reply to about 6 different names and have to explain how to pronounce my name correctly by telling them it's like this really common name but with an S in front. It's not that hard 😭😭

I'm gonna be completely honest. While I like my English name, I also sometimes wish that I had a name that represented my heritage. It's nice to have a name that everyone around you is able to pronounce easily, but having a name that's tied to your family's background is, in my opinion, not only more memorable, but also adds a lot of personality to you as a person. I'm not trying to say that having an English name means you have no personality, but I think that having a name closely related to your background makes it more meaningful, if that makes sense.

I have a bit of a reverse story. I'm from the US, and spent two years in Ecuador. No one could pronounce any of my names at the time (I have since changed my first name for very unrelated reasons). I always felt bad trying to correct them because I know my name makes no sense in Spanish but at the same time I never could tell if people were trying to get my attention via name
Also people can never remember how to spell my middle name which is the one I go by. Even my first name which is a very common name is prone to misspellings and mispronunciations even back in the US
    So. Yeah
