I think it's supposed to have two separate meanings, for kids this would probably be what they were ment to think, and as for adults or even older kids watching they were ment to think the far darker reason....
@@ProspectiveProspectoractually, yes. From that range, taking the belts off *only* makes sense to use them to whoop them as if they were their parents. There is quite literally zero reason to remove the belt to sexually assault someone, so it fails as a joke in that instance, since it wouldn't be the most logical conclusion, unless you're totally terminally online. Which wasn't a thing at the time. My girlfriend works an extremely stressful job with tons of yelling; however, if anybody yells at her in her personal life, she literally shuts down and dissociates. Trauma is a bitch and it doesn't make sense. So, yeah, it would make sense for them to be afraid of belts, but not of nunchucks.

I think people are misinterpreting the scene. Especially those who thinks its a euphemism to them getting SA'd. They're trained fighters, they know they could fight them off. What was shocking them was the thought that these guys are about to strip right then and there.
You'll be shocked how much a kid actually does get it, I was raised in a good house hold and didn't go though anything and still got effected by theses "easter eggs" Becayse kids aren't dumb, not fully processing sure- but not dumb.
Naaahhh, that's not- This is straight up a fetish/kink show, which should not be in a kids TV show. That's the definition of grooming, putting subliminal dirty things in a kids show where they probably won't understand until they're old enough to think wtf was i watching? Why would you as an adult want to put disturbing gross things in media made for children. Ever heard of Dan Schneider? 💀
They actually make belts with hidden knives in them. Pretty small, usually part of the buckle. Usually for survival situations/ desperate self defense. Belts that turn into fully functioning nunchucks seem really impractical. It looks really cool, until your pants fall down and you trip.
That, plus I can't imagine a trasnforming belt would make practical sense as a... well, a belt. What John Wick taught me in Chapter Three is that a belt by itself is plenty useful in improvised self-defense.
For those who don't know, Wonder Woman was invited by a college professor who was big into BDSM and pro feminism. He had an open marriage and hide none of his fetishist. Critics of Wonder Woman brought up the fact she was tied up and tortured on almost a regular basis in the comics. As a way of trying to normalize or brainwash the youth with BDSM. Batman also faced criticism for supposedly supporting gay lifestyle. An older single rich man with a young boy who is not his son dressing up and going on adventure. I can't say whether the Batman or Wonder Woman thing is true because the writers denied these claims. This stuff isn't new in kid spaces, though, but sometimes people just project.
@thatguy6482 Yeah, there was a lot of criticism over comics trying to brainwash the youth back in the day. Similar to parents today complaining about cartoon tv shows doing the same. That criticism over comics got so bad they created the Comics Code of Authority to shut people up. It's basically how all censor boards are created complaining parents.
May have some kind of merit to the Batman one, I mean, many Robins wore what was essentially green underwear and boots, and they were ALL pre-teens or teens. Batman himself being gay is BS, but the Robin costume on young boys was always sus to me. But that WW one is undisputed in it's intentions

Wow. Ppl are slow. In Japan they’re freaks and pedos that’s why THIS scenes were even in cartoons. They’re perverted and sex obsessed. They mail dirty underwear to each other and women dress and talk as children even when they’re adults cause it’s appealing to those perverted men. That’s something to be digusted by not amused.

This is actually really sad if you think about it, how them being terrified of being SAed is played off as a joke.(In a children’s show nonetheless.) I might be hyper sensitive though since I’m a SA victim myself. Just something to think about, really weird but thats just my opinion

Could so double as a reference to corporal punishment. Getting the belt used to be a bit more common as a punishment in households after all. So, equally sad.

Bless your heart!
Ya bro that's totally what they were going for 👍👍 💯💯
Welp, I think it feels like some of those who grown up in 60s had no idea about what Totally Spies actually supposed to 😅
As a kid, that's certainly what I thought the reference was, they were about to get the belt.
I think it's supposed to have two separate meanings, for kids this would probably be what they were ment to think, and as for adults or even older kids watching they were ment to think the far darker reason....
I didn't think sexual assault at all.. I thought of parents using a belt to hit their kids. Which was common back when this show aired.
So they're scared to be hit with a belt? But not belt weapon? Denial

I think its because belt nun-chucks would be easier to get pass security and metal detectors than a sword or knife.

Batman ones definitely BS wonder woman one... Unlikely he was trying to brainwash people but that was definitely intentional.
Wonder Woman's weakness used to be that being tied up made her powerless, it was ABSOLUTELY intentional
