- The Strauch family was enjoying their Labor Day weekend along the McKenzie River when the Holiday Farm Fire broke out. They were able to escape, but are still feeling stress from the traumatic event.

Hard to go back upriver and see everything you’ve lived & loved destroyed, turned to ashes. My family arrived in Oregon in 1840 aboard the Barq Clipper Ship Lausanne. We Judson’s are a sturdy people, we left New York City in October 1839 & sailed 9 months all the way around the Horn of South America to Hawaii(resupply) and with four children aboard all under 9 years of age! We helped build Oregon into the beautiful place it is today. Its hard to see such dramatic change yet its part of being alive, the one constant in life! we’ve witnessed 200 years of change living right here in Willamette & McKenzie Valleys!

That wind was NOT normal for Oregon!! My light's went out too n I was in Springfield.. I told my neighbor that tomorrow, the Cascades or somewhere close would be on fire.. Just like California the last few years, first a freak wind storm n then horrible, fast fires!! Since the Paridice fires, I have been keeping score and these thing's are not normal.. We did not have any lightning even though I heard that on TV.. Today luckily about 6 pm, all the smoke just disapeared! I was outside n it was awful, I went in to cook dinner, one hour later I go back out n the air was clean n I could see the mountains again. So weird but I am so happy! So now tomorrow our weather report says lightning and rain.. I so hope no lightning, we don't hardly ever get it so this time of year, I doubt it.. Just hope we get lot's of rain.. 🤗✌️

Have you ever seen a wind storm in Oregon? They happen multiple times every winter.
Fires like this only come once every 300 to 400 years.
Reaper Kezia You’re thinking too much about this. All of that doesn’t matter. They’ve owned property there for 40yrs. I’m sure this is the first time they’ve seen trees (plural) falling, an electric box burst, etc. That means it’s time to pack up and go.
My family has been camping for decades as well...when the skies look dangerous or the water is rising, they pack up early and leave. No need in waiting for disaster to hit. Camping is about relaxing and using survival skills.

Ya PGE needs to pay for this! Yes some fires are caused by people but PGE played a bigger role. They knew high winds were coming and they decided to do nothing and now they’ve caused so much damage that it’s going to have a decade for some parts to even start looking decent again

I did a criminal records check on this Jesus guy. Turns out he is an executed Roman convict. He is often pictured with children and lambs so we know why they executed him.
