You can't arrest someone in America for crimes they haven't yet committed, at least if our system is working, which it does in most states and local municipalities. Chickens are crafty, eat bugs, mice, small snakes and grass. They can also roost in trees, and surprisingly a chicken sqwaking flapping and flying at you can be pretty intimidating. It will certainly buy them a little time. Darn it! People are heartless. We had a hen that outlived her own chicks. 11 yrs old. A fantastic personality.
