Anneke makes me smile every time. She is so gorgeous. Another great song is "Travel" (Live at Doornrosje) with her former band "The Gathering". Just amazing.

Anneke's voice is still the only voice which made me so much happier than before, mostly listening with tears in my ears, just because of her unique voice matching with her AMAZING persona !!!

As many have commented, she's been an inspiration for Floor, Simone and many other Dutch female vocalists.
She is amazing. I've seen her a few times and been lucky enough to meet her twice. She's a really lovely lady.
She does a beautiful duet with Sharon den Adel, on Within Temptation's 'Black Symphony.'
If you want a great cover, try Nightwish's take on Pink Floyd's 'High Hopes,' with Marko on vocals. You won't be disappointed.
I am about as in love with Anneke as I am with Floor Jansen whom she inspired. Anything she does is absolutely golden. The Gathering, The Gentle Storm, VuuR, Ayreon, dueting with Devin Townsend and of course her solo stuff. She's one of the most prolific singers in the metal genre. She is a metal angel, able to steal your heart with a whisper.
The one and only Anneke van Giersbergen....! She already was amazing way back in 1995, with The Gathering. And today she still is. Checkout the old Gathering songs, like the song that started so many things: 'Strange machines', the PinkPop live version, or from the 2014 Doornroosje concert: 'On most surfaces' and 'Travel'. She sang in the amorphis song were stars , she is probably the most recorded female metal / rock/ folk/ pop / classical music singer songwriter , I think she has like 80 collaborations, 7 or 8 records with the Gathering , a bunch of solo records , has sang on many Devon Townsend records , is Aryeon’s favorite singer to work with , he even wrote a whole album and project for her , The gentle storm , a prog rock masterpiece , sang on a napalm death song , and more than I can remember , and frequently sings guest spots on unknown artists songs for free if she likes the song , maybe not free but probably , she is fucking cool too

This lady is famous. She actually was one of original first female fronted symphonic metal singers with an amazing band called 'The Gathering". Floor and many artists took inspiration from her. I saw her solo set in 2019 and met her. Very nice. She also recently toured in 18 with another metal band she started called "Vuur". Excellent heavy stuff. (Check out on You tube) song "Days go by". She has song with many other artists including Amorphis , Devin Townsend, and Gentle Storm .Been singing since mid 90's and started very young. Check out Great Gathering songs like Strange Machines and On most surfaces.

Anneke was one of the first singers I did see in the 90s when she was in The Gathering.. and she really keeps on being amazing! Singing with Ayreon, like a real Phoebe here Or many other projects! (She also did a great Chris Isaak cover btw)

Beautiful cover of one of my favourite songs of all time, by my favourite band. Marilyn Manson once said pink floyd are sacred so if you cover them you need to do it justice.

I have a great recommendation for a cover song. Check out “Titanium” by Within Temptation. (David Guetta cover). It’s an amazing rock rock sound that makes you want to dance.
I really like her cover of Damian Rice `s song, the blowers daughter.......... I`m Dutch...... so I know about her, about other suggestions as well....... we have some great singers in this country that aren`t even that famous because of the radio stations that hardly ever play metal music, except for Metallica, or other big non European bands.
