Saw Willie and the boys last Friday night at Bay Shore, NY. The comments below about their live performance are understated. Before the show is over, the whole place is on their feet singing and waving and cheering - even the old dogs like me! DYNOMITE!

Saw him at the Bottom Line in NYC which had long tables pushed up to the stage. At a particular ecstatic moment, he stepped off the stage onto our table filled with drinks, etc. He was very dexterous - stepping around bottles - don’t think he knocked over any!
You MUST see Willie Nile perform live.

Just once I'd like to be there to hear Willie "live." I think of Newport now: July 1965 in the night rain, right after Lovin' Spoonful did "Summer in the City," Dylan lugged an electric guitar and Rocked the place and the music world. "Jane" was Lou Reed's best, I think, and I like Willie's "It's all Over" for my last day; I hope I hear it! But he does Lou proud with his "Jane." Dig it!

A friend took me to see him at Infinity Hall Norfolk a few years back. I'd never heard of him, she assured me he was great. What an incredible performer--mind blown! One of a kind. See him live if you can, no video does him justice.
And Sweet Willie, please do Jane at my Graveside and send ‘em home with a rockin’ It’s all Over. You are one of very few Rockers with whom we sing along because we want to. Not because some self-appointed putz tells us to dig it and him.
