    I think you meant point number I instead of H. Also, the point "i(1)" states that the lowest of the light shall be placed not less than 4 mtrs above the hull. (this refers to the last light and not the towing light). In case of the Towing light, the criteria for 4 mtrs shall be exempted.

      Exactly that's where I got confused😕 as I've never seen the stern and towing light at such greater heights on the aft deck.

      Same here, I also got confused in this point it says last light should be atleast 4 meters above, except in case of a towing light..

  • @vishalissar154
    @vishalissar154 Před 2 lety +4

    one mistake in criteria of lights in a vertical line, towing light is not more than 4m. it is the lowest light shall not be less than 4m above the hull. if a towing light is carried then the 4m criteria are exempted.

    First of all, Thanks for Your Efforts. Secondly, Kindly confirm in VERTICAL POSITIONING AND SPACING OF LIGHTS Point No. D, Here I think it is talking about All-Round Light prescribed in Rule 23 D (i) not the 23 C (i).

    except where a towing light is required, be placed at a height not less than 4 mts above hull.....it does't mean that the height of the towing light has to be not less than 4 mts rather it says that the lowest of the two or three lights be placed 4 mts above the hull.

      Kindly read it again
      'Except where a Towing light is required'
      Means where a Towing light is requiered in that case the Towing light would be the Lowest of the lights . Such a light(towing light at stern) shall be placed not less than 4m above the Hull .
      logically also it works well. As your lowest of the aftermast lights shall be at least 4.5m above the forward one where as your forward mast head need not be less than 6m.
      That makes the lowest of the aftermast light already 10.5m above the Hull.
      Hence that point is specifically for Towing Light ( Yellow) at the stern.
