I’m 27 and, unfortunately, my generation is not very familiar with being a gentleman , everyone is going swag and hippie.
If you ever plan on visiting Iran, in Shiraz (my city) you will find old bazars, in which, pinky rings are still made and plenty of models will be available, Some of their stories go back to families and signs.

I would always recommend getting a vintage/pre-owned ring. Brand new rings are always far too expensive for the quality. You will generally find much older rings are of a higher quality which keeps price down. I bought a brand new (2020 made) Oxford signet ring for £270 but if I went for the same ring, brand new and not pre-owned, it would have set me back an extra £600.

7:19 so the reason why that stone is able to have a closed off bottom is because the stone is not transparent. so does not need to be cleaned. transparent gems need to be able to be cleaned. so the light can bounce around inside the stone in the correct way and return to the top of the stone. if oil is on the bottom of the stone the reflection inside the stone will be different less light will be returned to the top and the stone will not look as bright. it will not have as much of that magical quality to it that you don't know that's why you love it.

I have a ring collection very similar to his but mostly diamonds and a few other cardinal gems. And almost all of them were brand new. Contrary to the video it is possible to find new rings that look vintage but the catch is you have to do a ton of looking on the internet. I have a local jeweler who is wonderful at selling rings that look expensive and stylish and they resize them too at no charge if you buy them there. Rings are making a comeback. I've watched this video probably a dozen times. Guilty pleasure.

Sven, Thank you for the video. I am a man who's always had good taste, ever since I was a young Master. I've always worn rings on most all my fingers; though now that I am getting older, two fists covered in rings will look a bit excessive. That's why I believe a pinky ring, accompanied by a signet ring on the opposite hand, is a larger statement than two fists filled. Thanks!~ PS Brimfield is right up the street from my city. Good topic! I found that many jewelers don’t do certain stones very often. Bloodstone, green amber for example. While there are online companies that sell antique or estate rings, they often aren’t personal. I had a ring designed and made with a select bloodstone and using an old pattern of the double eagle crest on the sides. It’s one of a kind but I agree that it’s nice to have less costly options and like you, I have picked up one or two such rings in overseas travel. I will certainly consider the production of something in your signet ring line. Great idea that I hope brings back the refined look men had in days past. Is it possible you would consider the place of watch fobs and pocket watches in a modern man’s wardrobe in a video? It would be refreshing as it seems every other men’s style channel here is sponsored by the same company hawking a certain huge dial face wrist watch company that isn’t for everyone.

There are two reasons why rings have an open back style. One because you need fo periodically clean the gems 💎 two it's necessary for the light source to make the gemstone reflect light. Stones like black onyx or tigers eye don't need that.

I wear my wedding ring all the time. It is an old gold ring (belonged to my grandfather) and it is a bit of rose..
Currently I have a Pinky Ring which is also gold, and quite rose like my wedding ring. -By "quite rose" I mean it is not completely rose gold, but you cannot call it yellow gold.
I have noticed in your collection you have verity of rings which some are gold and some are silver coloured. From what I could see, your wedding ring is gold.
Is it correct wearing a silver coloured pinky ring with a gold wedding ring? What about the colour of your watch case?

sigmund freud sorry for the long reply, i hope this clears up any misunderstanding. certainly if you have a crest that has been in your family for a long time, then please wear it, as it would be a shame if such a piece of your history was lost. i was merely pointing out that A: wearing your crest is a fairly bold move, as it shows a certain classic style that some people may judge as outdated. (personalty i don't know if my family ever had a crest, but i wish they did) and B. a ring with a crest needs to be paired with clothing that matches well. in other words, a pair of jeans and a sweater would look out of place. and since many people don't wear a full suit or blazer combination, they might look odd wearing such a classic ring with more modern clothes. also, some people ( not myself, as i mentioned above i wish i could find out if my family had a crest, because if so its been lost over time) may think it pretentious, and although that is a completely unfounded opinion, it may scare some people off from wearing a crest. i hope this clears up any misunderstanding, as i was not advising against wearing a crest. far from it, i commend the classic style and respect for history of anyone who has the style and confidence to wear a ring with their family crest on it, and i completely disagree with any notion that wearing such a ring would be pretentious in any way, shape or form. i simply felt i should point out the fact that a ring is a fairly bold statement these days (excluding wedding bands and the like) and wearing one may be enough for some people, without adding a crest to it.

I could be wrong, but the blue gem looks like a lapis lazuli. I'd have to take a look at a gem guide.
I (as a woman) have never worn a ring and often think a lot of other ladies don't combine them correctly with their outfit. But I have thought of getting a "Master's Ring" to show off my academic status. If I do get one, I would only wear it on spesific occasions, not with casual clothes. Those are not very popular in my generation, but earlier wearing a Master's Ring was a definite status symbol.

If I had to place a bet on the mottled light blue stone, I would say Larimar (pectolite)

Does anyone else have the same problem I have, that my fingers are too slim? Will that work out with time? Because I'd love to wear rings, but with my fingers I would have to buy women's rings.....😅

You should see if Zales or Ross Simons would work with you. They don't market to men anymore.

The RAF didn't issue rings to their pilots.... They just painted the German kills on their planes.

With those brown shoes, I hope you are enjoying the weekend in the country and not wearing them in town.... Huge faux pas otherwise.
