It was always on the little finger so he could use it to impress the seal on documents or whatever without having to take the ring off (because with the longer fingers, there's more risk of catching the wax).

What makes you a truly great person isn't how closely you follow some random fashion styles. Because this is all just random fashion that is likely not followed in many other parts of the world.

    • @timafiggy
      @timafiggy Před 6 lety +6

      not for women. right is not married. that what the right hand ring means. usually rings on the right hand symbolizes family. if a little girl wears a ring on her right hand means worth mothers love and you are not treated as a boy. i'm from New York. boys in high school usually start wearing rings at 15 if their parents gave them 1 , then the class ring. i don't take this guy seriously. he's geographically incorrect state wise also. it starts with family. then from there. guys usually only buy 1 ring . women are really supposed to have at least 3 ring before 21. it starts at home. if the woman to tell the truth, has just that wedding ring. then it means sh married against her family's wishes and gave her mother back her rings . that's NY. if she used to have rings and later has none and people know her . that's a sign of a drug problem. she pawned them. women because they are married to a man in New York do not get rid of their jewelry they usually add to it. a woman who wears a man's ring on her left finger symbolizes she's a widow. if on the the right thumb means her father's ring and she will not change the size. it's not the finger it's the ring. name rings are name rings clearly identity. cops put their badge number when they are years away from police academy. they also have pendants. gangs affiliation are tattoos in New York.

      +FroopieLoopies Answer: none! I'm a Czechman and we wear both an engagement and wedding ring on our left hand, but if we're divorced we wear both of them on our right hand. Then again, here in Europe you got thousands of cultures condensed into one small space and nobody is really an authority.
      If you're unhappy with your marriage there's many things you can do. I can only tell you what I did: I let her go and she did the nasty with 2 other guys but she came back to me. That was after 21 years, and we've been together for 28 years now and we love each other even more than before.
      If it was a good relationship before the problems started occuring, it will survive. I'm just talking about my own experience and I hope it helps you out.

    Well, it's like this. I shoot for 80%
    I had a friend who worked at FedEx as a sorter. he would work like crazy for an hour throwing boxes/packages according to codes. 10-15% error rates were very common. When he asked the manager why they didn't worker slower so he could be 100% accurate, the manager revealed that when they did that their output was 25% of what they normally would be.
    Perfection is dangerous - strive for it - but don't be throttled by it.

    My boyfriend and I got each other promise rings recently. I wear mine on my left ring finger because of the old wives tale that it is the only finger with a vein directly to the heart (not true but still) and he is close to my heart. He wears his ring from me on his left hand and he has a similar one for his right hand. His mom thought it was weird for him to have a promise ring but it means a lot to me that he wanted one.

    Hi Antonio, great video. I loved all the background and history information about this topic. I do have a question. I recently found my old USMC graduation ring. Imagined my surprise when I saw it, I thought I had lost it. I have always liked wearing some type of jewelry as a way to add detail and diversity into my daily wear. As per your video abd infografic this type of affiliation rings should be worn on your index finger. That was the case and how I wore my ring 17 years ago. Now that Im a little older it can only fit on my pinky finger. Being a Marine like myself you could probably understand the sentimental value of that ring. My question is: would it be awkward or out of place to wear that ring on my pinky finger? Like I said earlier, I like paying close attention to all the details I wear and also like to make sure they are sending the right message. So I guess the right question would be: is that type of ring on my pinky will be sending the right message.
    Thanks
    Semper Fi

      Hey JC, Army vet here. Take it to a jeweler and have it enlarged to fit your current index finger size. It's not horribly expensive. Might even go a size up and get a silicone spacer so you can continue wearing it into your later years, without worrying about inflammation, arthritis, etc., too much.
      Thank you for your service, and I hope this reply isn't too many years too late to be helpful.

    As a young child, I used to think adults wearing rings was super cool but then when I started wearing my middle school class ring in high school, I quickly realized that it gets in the way of washing my hands or using hand sanitizer. So then I completely stopped wearing rings altogether and now I just hate rings in general. If I get married one day I probably won't even wear my wedding ring except on rare occasions.
