I was reading your article and where you describe the three most common shades of gold, when describing the rose gold shade, its seems to be misspelled as "rose cold". And also, being 24 K gold the "purest" gold, it doesn't make it the best for a ring, due that it is a soft metal and it will be scratched easily by normal everyday use (thats why its more recommended to use 18 K gold for rings.) Besides that, I really like your channel, keep up the good work!

Thanks. It was a neat little silver Celtic ring, that I'd bought at the Renaissance Faire. Ironically, it doesn't fit my ring finger anymore, and hasn't for a long time. But I still have it.

I bought a ring a while ago, it's of a wolf's head and I wear it on my index finger. People I meet do say it looks a bit chunky though, and I am quite a skinny guy. I'm just happy people notice it and it's a great conversation starter, I love it 👍

Actually many men from aristocratic families wear the signet on the left pinky. A coat of arms crest ring or seal ring is often a pinky ring. The Princes and Dukes of England are prime examples. The pointer finger was more of a medieval choice for the signet.

I wear my rings to coordinate with what I am wearing. Blue shirt - Sapphire... Black or grey shirt - black diamond or black spinel, etc.
90% of what I wear is a white metal...silver, platinum, etc.
As for the thumb ring...it is also a Celtic tradition, which is why I wear one.

My family has roots in eastern Europe and wearing a lot of rings is a sign of power and wealth except the right ring finger. Only finger I personally don't wear a ring on is my right ringfinger since I am not married. This is something you should probably mention when talking about rings. In many parts of the world its very common to wear more than 2 or 3 rings as a sign of power and wealth.

I greatly enjoyed the snippet about the iron ring for engineers. It made me want to buy rings related to my areas of interest such as a glass or ceramic ring to symbolize chemistry. Even though you are not suppose to wear jewelry in a lab, its the most predominantly inert material one can wear.

At the time of the Tudors, the Monarch wore a crest ring embedded in stone, usually bright red, on the right index finger. It was the symbol of the sovereign. When Queen Elizabeth ascended to the Throne and received the ring of her deceased sister queen Mary she took it and utter the words from Book of Psalms: “This is the Lord’s doing, and it’s marvelous to our eyes” and put it on (though it was a bit large), and the people around her knelt and said: “long live the Queen”

fairly good video. for some reason, I am having a problem moving up to more than one ring. I typically wear a single silver ring on my watch hand's index finger. my hands are unbalanced, so I need something on my non watch hand, but I'm finding it hard to coordinate something to balance the watch.
I feel a video on watch coordination/balancing would be helpful. several people suggest leather bracelets and such but I feel they clash to much with the articulated metal band.

I have an issue with rings. This might be long but stick with me. I love wearing rings but I have small hands. I’m in between sizes so I have to decide go small or go big. I have gotten rings stuck before and don’t want that ever again so I go on the larger end. I also don’t like light rings because I won’t notice when it falls off. Therefor I go for larger rings with some weight and thickness to it so I’ll notice if it falls off. But the small hands+big ring makes me look like I’m a wanna be pimp or biker.

I've loved rings since I was a child though very rarely wear a ring as the ones I have don't fit because my joints have gotten larger as I age. (I'm 57.) Some years back I lost a lot of weight and even my fingers got thin and a couple of rings didn't fit anymore. I'm left-handed so don't like to wear rings on that hand as they interfere with writing. I used to wear as many as six rings on my right hand. I was something like the painter Frida Kahlo who would wear many rings (and lots of other jewelry) but she wore hers on her left hand and held a paint brush in her right hand. My hands are somewhat hairy and rings don't always look good on them; not a good mix. I see few rings for men that I think look good. Most look like high school or college rings which are fine if from a school or are big rings with skulls and such that look cheap and gaudy---and this is simply my opinion: they also look trashy. I've seen portraits of the author James Joyce and he wore a couple of very nice-looking rings. I'm a bachelor and I make it a point to never wear a ring on the third finger of my left hand as I consider that to be reserved for married people. I understand that Orthodox Christians do use the right third finger but that is uncommon where I live.

That's an interesting idea. I just might give it a try. And if it doesn't work out the hair will just grow back eventually!
