This might be the easiest recipe I've done. A quick and very easy to make peanut brittle. But does it taste as good as the traditional way to make peanut brittle?
MICROWAVE PEANUT BRITTLE 1 cup sugar 1 tsp. salt 1 cup raw peanuts ½ cup white corn syrup 1 Tbsp. butter 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. baking soda Grease a large cookie sheet or use a Silicone liner to top the cookie sheet before beginning the cooking process. In a microwave safe, large glass bowl stir together the sugar, salt, and peanuts. Add the corn syrup and stir together. It will be difficult to stir, but will loosen up in the microwave. Microwave four minutes on high. Stir and then cook four more minutes on high. Add butter and vanilla, blending well, then cook on high one minute. Add baking soda and stir until light and foamy. Pour into greased cookie sheet or silicone lined cookie sheet. Let cool for one hour, then break into small pieces. NOTE: Never use a plastic bowl to make this. With this recipe, it will definitely melt in the microwave.
Oh my goodness, your episode may me think of my dear daddy, once he retired he started making peanut brittle. Thank you so much for bringing such a delightful memory to me. Divinity does well on bright sunny days with low humidity, otherwise it’s more like ice cream topping, since it refuses to hold its shape.
Im excited to make this. Mu mom made this yearly at Christmas for all her kids families. Havent had any since 1983. My kids were asking me 2 yrs ago if I could make p'nut brittle. Now I can!!😊😊😊😮😮. Bless you both from grandma Katie in Oregon
You can use plastic but it must be microwaveable. It will usually say so on the bowl with a little picture of some squiggly lines meaning microwave safe.
When we shot this we did not have it up, but we do now. We put it up much later since we didn't know if Sophie would mess with it. Will try to show it in an upcoming episode. Our tree is not anything special. Some of our ornaments were made by our kids. For 20 plus years we had a two story tree, which took two tall ladders to decorate. We downsized our house five years ago and the tree would no longer fit into our house. We enjoy decorating this much smaller tree so much more. No more ladders!

Microwave watts are different. Are the times based on a 1000 watt microwave?
Your stories are amazing, and I love your kitchen cabinets!
Thank you!
Wow, gotta make some. Thank you, JoAnn
You are welcome! Let us know how it came out.

Glad it brought fun memories of your daddy.
When we lived in Alabama everyone ate boiled peanuts but this Yankee (born in Nj)hated them
Glad to be back in Oklahoma. Enjoying your videos!
People seem to either like or hate boiled peanuts. Thanks for watching and commenting!
We just made this with pecans that were left over from Thanksgiving. Turned out great!
So glad you liked it. I need to make some with pecans.
I'm going to try this. I burned my fingers making peanut brittle on the stove top last Christmas. This looks to be much easier. Thanks, guys!
Peanut brittle can be quite dangerous to make. Hope you like how easy this is.

Dan fess up when a storm is coming you fire up your laptop and track it! You still go into that mode….
There hasn't been any storm action in the time since I retired. It will feel really weird to be home with storms going on.

Plant based usually means vegan I think. This has butter
Plant based butter in the stick can be used. Hope this helps Janice!
