- Yesterday, I posted a RARE unboxing video on the channel - • WHAT'S IN THE BOX??? 😲 - The purpose of that video was to document my concerns that the box for the Eachine EX4 had previously been opened. It's not uncommon however for sponsors to send REVIEWERS repaired or returned units FOR REVIEW, so, I wasn't too disappointed since I didn't buy it. BUT you'd think they would want to send only the BEST units to the guys that you're relying on to help promote the product, right(?)!!! -djsoulforce!!!

I really hope they send me a replacement for review. I was soooo LOOKING FORWARD to reviewing this bird. I love reviewing drones that hit the market like a wrecking ball, packed with features, perform well and the cost is almost irresistible. I love being the guy to show (and prove) to YOU GUYS how great a bird is for the price. SORRY, we'll have to wait on that. I don't plan on doing any flight test until I resolve the issue with the gimbal. "They all fly, I want to see what the video looks like!" -djsoulforce!!!
DJ I see on google play that there is not enjoy fly app any more I guess I got mine before they removed it for some reason.looks like you you will have to us the c fly app...
SOUL FORCE QUADS was it a free review dine they sent? I suspect they'll replace it for you but there are many stories of too many DOA versions of this drone. Question is whether Banggod will replace it for other customers

I do what I do because I was never interested in getting into the 'review game' it was the stores like GearBest & Banggood that asked me to review their products. I'd hope they wanted honest reviews, not reviewers to help sell drones!!! I'll keep you guys updated, I was looking forward to reviewing this one!!!
Well, so much for getting back together with Bang-You-Good. Personally, I had so many problems with orders from them that I TOTALLY GAVE UP on them long ago. If the product wasn't broken on arrival, then it was the WRONG PRODUCT (like sending me a FlySky version of a control board, instead of the FrSky version I'd ordered and paid for). Of course, anytime THEY screw up, they make YOU produce a documentary video and upload it to Box.net or Dropbox so that they can be sure you aren't scamming them! So much for good customer relations. BTW, the ONLY Chinese Retailer that I've ever had ANY good customer service from was HobbyKing ... but I've stopped buying stuff from them, because so much of what they sent failed shortly after I got it (can you say 'Junk' ???). I think you should just give up on BG, GW, etc. and continue to deal with manufacturer's direct (like Holy Stone) or get stuff from Amazon or EBay, where you do have recourse in case you receive a P.O.S. With all that's going on in China right now, don't expect any quick response to this video from BG. Oh well, maybe the RC car they sent you will work. Good luck Brofessor! Cheers!
As you may have sensed, I could care less if they or GearWorst ever send me another product to review. (Actually, I think GearWorst has cut me off a long time ago!) I never once asked either of them if I could receive a product for review, it's always been the other way around. Oh well, we'll see how this turns out. No reply yet, my rep is still on her holiday. That sucks DJ. Looks like you indeed got sent a return. I had one person comment on one of my videos as well that their gimbal was broken and they were trying to get it replaced. I gifted mine to my dad for Xmas. Yeah, the app is called Enjoy-Fly but it mysteriously disappeared from the Play Store. As you found out you can just use the C-Fly app instead or the JJRC. I did include a download link to the app's APK from my Google Drive in my videos. Hope they send you another one! John just got his and it works fine.
The person had the JJRC X12 version from Geekbuying though. Had nothing to do with BG but exact same drone that had a defective gimbal.
After spending a few hours doing research, I did find a link to download the Enjoy-Fly app, and my phone told me I already had it... it was the C-Fly app. Go figure!!! I think the previous owner of this drone probably turned the drone on without first extending the landing gear, which you know would put the camera on the ground constricting it's auto calibration. The gimbal's motors don't seem to be that powerful and can easily be burned out!!!

Too bad man. I got mine this past Friday and the box was beat up but I got the version with carrying case that’s protected by foam. My EX4 works great! Either way looks like you got a return, wish they wouldn’t do this to reviewers...
Mine was in a case also, with two batteries, but still D.O.A. lol!!! Did your's come from Banggood???
SOUL FORCE QUADS Yes, mine is from banggood for review. I think mine was new too because the box had the top seal on it not broken, and the drone had stickers that needed removed. Everything just felt like it was never touched.
Mine had a silly little sticker over the on/off button but nothing over the camera lens or any other stickers on the drone. I think somebody powered on the drone without extending the landing gear and damaged the gimbal.
tell Banggood to ship in big brown box. to fix your test drone by sending you new camer

I fought with this drone for 2 to 3 days determined to find the trick to
calibrating it and I was ready to give up then I tried this and it
WORKED for me over and over again so listen up and try this. 1: First
Press the button on the back of the drone to turn it on. you now have a
BLUE flashing light on the drone this is telling you it is trying to
connect to the controller so turn the controller on and when it is
connected the light on the drone will turn GREEN and it will be flashing
NOW connect the phone to your controller. now on the phone, it should say in preparation, but your NOT ready to do the calibration
yet, what until the light on the drone goes GREEN and is NOT flashing now on your phone, it should say READY-GO BUT It's NOT READY. NOW it's ready for the calibration
because you have enough satellite lights only when the light goes green
and not flashing. The lights on the controller are ONLY telling you what mode you're controller is in and NOT that you are connected to anything some people thought that. NOW this is what I MUST DO to get the
dam thing to calibrate, the horizontal works fine every time BUT I
could NOT get the vertical to work it would say it was a success but it was NOT. the drone was still in calibration mode. On the drone, it has a
RED/GREEN light flashing which is vertical calibration mode. SO what to do? well, this works for me 7 out 10 times instead of never working at all. When you do the calibrate first off some apps say calibrating in
blue on the phone when you see that it ISN'T tap the blue calibrating
Button again until you see it say TURN THE DRONE the light on the drone will start flashing from green to red/blue I have seen some people try to calibrate it when it was NOT ready to do so. NOW when it says turn the
drone horizontally do it about 3 times the light on the drone turn to
RED/GREEN the horizontal calibration
is dun and NOW the trick that works about 7 out of 10 times for me WHEN
it tells you to put the camera up and turn it watch your phone and PUT
the camera DOWN give it a quick half-turn then do it again if you don't see your phone then tell you to turn it again do another half turn but if you do see on your phone turn it again flip the Drone camera up
words and then turn it two or three times. This almost works every time for me and it's the ONLY way I can get it to calibrate. It's Still JUNK

Yeah I had the same thing happened to my drone.. jjrc x12 once I restarted it a few times once or twice by taking the battery out.. put it back in and start the process over far as turning on the drone first then the remote then the gimbal should calibrate itself that’s pretty much what mines did, hope you’re the best.

I hope they send another, I’m always told from the rep. Sorry we don’t have the budget at this time, then I don’t here from her for months. I just been buying a lot of my products again. Banggood love to send out the returns to reviewers, they hope that the reviewer can get the product working. Hoping that the Consumer made a mistake and didn’t know how to work the product. But nine out of 10 times it’s just a bad product or it’s been crashed and returned. banggood is trying to save money and pay nothing for advertising, by sending returns to reviewers. That's exactly what's going on here. I haven't done a review for them in over a year (except for that Xinglehong car a few months back) then all of a sudden, they contacted me. I was starting to get comfortable with working with Holy Stone and Snaptain!!! No nonsense with those two!!!

Does it have a Gimbal lock on the phone or a setting to run a calibration for Gimbal?
Thanks for the feedback. No, there is no gimbal lock or gimbal calibration in the phone app. The gimbal is supposed to calibrate itself whenever you turn on the drone!!!

They never consider the bad weather, high winds or the fact that a man might have a job and works everyday!!! I can deal with that (sometimes) but I can't deal with sending me a defective model taking up space in my hangar!!! POW!!!
Damn, i was looking forward to seeing you put it in the air. Will they send you a replacement? Question, i'm new to flying birds, I have two holy stone drones now. I was wondering is DJI the only drones that have digital licence plates that the FAA can monitor and know when their in the air or does all drones from different companies have this installed?
I can't say for sure that DJI is the only drones with that feature, the technology is very new. As of late 2019, you could still buy an Autel, Hubsan, Xioami and a few others that DO NOT have any types of flight restrictions or the digital I.D. Who knows how all of these new FAA rules are going to play out for our hobby???
I'm sorry your review unit had a bad gimbal. After watching your unboxing, I was really hoping to see you put this one through it paces. It looks a lot like a Mavic Air, probably no accident.
Hopefully they will send me another one. I was so looking forward to testing this one. Besides, I don't have a Mavic Air, I could use a clone!!! Lol!!!

Same problem for me mate got the white Version also for review from banggood Iam located in Germany.
The drone is connected gps is there but nothing works it won't hold position after a minute of flying it goes away calibration isn't possible.
Very sad even when you see other guys having a good one with no Problem 🙈😁🤙🏽

Has anyone had trouble connecting phone to drones wifi? The first time I used it it popped up as Drone xxxxx something. The second time I powered the drone on i got nothing.

Yeah, it seems like the gimbal is defected. It supposed initialize 10 seconds after starting it. The enjoy fly app is available on Google play store and Apple Store. The thing that is kind of annoying on this drone is that it takes a long time to get satellites outdoors and sometimes the calibration functions don’t work that well. I have the JJRC x12 which is the same drone. It’s been working fine for me at the moment. Sorry that yours arrived beat up. That freaking sucks man.

I flew my EX4 today for the 1st time and I also noticed the time it takes to stabilise itself while hovering, and the lengthy satellite aquisition. On the 1st attempt it "toilet bowled " for a good while, however on the subsequent flights it was stable. I am not an experienced flyer(I bought the EX4 to practice before risking my Mavic 2 Pro) but I noticed that the controller gimbals are not precise. Indeed it very easy to induce another motion of the drone while thinking to send it in a straight line. For example pushing the right stick forward(without looking at the gimbal) will send the drone to the left or the right as well. Of course it could simply be my inexperience.
Michel Monney When you motion the right joystick forward it should move straight forward and not move left or right. If you move the right stick left-it will tilt left. If you move it right-it will tilt right. Now, if you move the right joystick between the up and right position- it will move forward while also tilting right at the same time.
Toilet bowl seems to happen when it hasn’t locked in a good GPS position or both ultra sonic sensor and optical flow lens are trying to recognize the terrain below in order to keep it stable. But a lot of the time, the reason it toilet bowls is because there is heavy magnetic interference nearby or a high saturation of WiFi signals all over the place which cause the drone to act erratically. It’s best to fly it in an open area free from homes, radio towers, power lines, etc.
@@DroneSyndrome Yes Sir I am very well aware of that. I made this comment because applying the same gimbal input on my Mavic Pro 2 will produce the expected motion. If I push the stick forward it will move in a straight line. That means somehow the tracking(mechanical balancing?) is way different.
This is why I referred to the gimbals as being not precise

Hello Sir, I don't know whether you got your gimbal issue resolved in the meantime(I didn't have the patience to go thru al the comment :-0). I got my EX4 a few days ago, the box was beaten up as well and the gimbal ill behaved in the same manner.The reason why the amplitude of the roll axis was smaller on the right(facing the camera)was because it rubbed on the bottom part of the housing. As there was no pan movement during the calibration I looked closely at the gimbal assembly. I realised that the bottom of the bracket mounted on the pan motor(located at the top in the cavity) didn't appear to be straight, causing the roll motor to be tucked inside the bottom lip of the gimbal cavity, thus blocking the pan movement as well. I carefully inserted a blade between the roll axis motor and the lip of the housing, exerted a gentle upward pressure and the entire assembly popped right out into place. I too could not pan down the camera, whether I tried thru the left wheel on the controller or the cursor of the app. This function was inoperative because the gimbal initialisation had failed. I feared that with all the beating the mechanism had taken it would be damaged. Especially concerned about the overcurrent from the jammed pan motor, however I flew it today again after repairing it and all seems to be working properly. Feel free to include that in your review, if you didn't give up on it already. the way Bangood packs this drone, coupled with the absence of gimbal shipping bracket, will for sure make for many JOA(Jammed On Arrival- :-)) gimbals. Sending it back for repair or replacement would be frustrating and costly. I hereby confirmed that the C-Fly is the app to use, I heard that the Enjoy-fly was not coming back.

@@DJSOULFORCE Today I took some videos to see whether the camera gimbal suffered some damage or not. There is jello, too much fo my taste but now is it not functioning normally or is it as good as it gets with this drone ? There are several reviewers who mentioned the lack of stabilisation of this camera. Some point out the very low dampening(two small rubber pads) of the camera mount, others say the source of the vibrations could come from the inexpensive & improperly balanced propellers. Personally I can only compare the video quality with that of the Mavic Pro 2. Which obviously is non sense. I was not impressed by the quality of the pictures either. I am looking forward to hearing your opinion as you have evaluated other machines.

My phone’s wifi list will not show the drone’s wifi hot spot. The drone turns on and seems normal I just cant connect to the wifi. When i open the app it reads unconnected and doesn’t ask me to bind. The controller wifi seems to be fine. Can anyone help me?

Hi, just seen your video. Not sure if this would fix the issue. After turning on the drone and gimbal calibrates you have to next join your controller to the drone via WiFi in the settings. Then bind the controller via the Enjoy Fly app. Then the gimbal should work and tilt using the controller. However mine just calved. Flies nice decent video at 1080p not 4K. 4K is for photos only. A motor on mine just stopped mid flight causing it to flip over and smash into the ground.

Yo compre este dron,pero el cargador de baterías solo las cargo una vez y dejo de cargarlas,se estropeo,pedí otro cargador,pero con la situación en China tardara meses.Probando con otro enchufe menos potente que un 5v2a como dice el fabricante,con uno de 5v1a si carga pero tarda 16 horas,conseguí publicar 5 vídeos en CZcams y de momento esperando el cargador con mucha paciencia.

Why did you suggest that app? I've had it before, used it with a previous drone I tested and found it used a lot of battery power. I flew the drone for about 15 minutes, phone was hot as hell and needed to be rebooted after I got home from the field! I'll give it another try since I bought a new phone since then, but I'm a little hesitant if you know what I mean!!! Do you have a version of this bird? (C-Fly, JJRC or the Eachine)

@@DJSOULFORCE I have the Aurora s12 well I'd have to look up the correct spelling running a samsung galaxy s9+ phone.
@@DJSOULFORCE cfly app works with the Aurora drone also hope you have better luck.
I haven't tried the hFun App, the C-Fly app works fine. The App is not the problem with my bird, it has a bad gimbal. Thanks for your help buddy!!!

However, you think that if a banggood product arrives damaged and you ask for your money back, they will return it? and despite returning your money they will let you keep the damaged product? What is your experience or opinion about this? and thankss
@@alexanderruiz4210 It's been my past experience that Banggood will NOT return your money, they will give you a store credit for your purchase or send replacement parts if the item can be fixed. In most cases you will get to keep the drone because shipping back to China is very expensive. The store credit is NEVER as much as the price that you pay for the item!!!
