Galactic Conquest actually HAS lines for the Republic invading the Death Star, or Endor, etc. They're actually in the game and some mods have those planets, so they definitely could add them if they wanted, even if it wouldn't be original. It's just interesting how they have full lines for planets not included!
Why would they get rid of the old ones? I don't think they would, especially when so many mods exist for it already. I'm getting the new one on my PS5 for more reliable multiplayer but I'll have to see about mods in the future since I play those on the old version on Steam and it's a ton of fun!

Yep! Instant action and galactic conquest were all I played growing up. I actually didn’t even touch the campaign until I was much older.
I've only ever played multiplayer on the old BF2 on Steam, but most of my time was spent in Instant Action on my old PS2.
It was broken on ps2 online hopefully it's better this time.😅

After I unlocked everything I could unlock, i still played this on PS2 till i retired my PS2. The gameplay is a 10/10.

You can add the Campaign Maps to the Map Rotation via Commands. (And then play in the opposing team)

I was born in 2006 but grew up with the wii and PlayStation 2. I finally have bought my first next gen console but it will never give me the same taste that these older games gave me growing up.
Day one Battlefront PS2 OG, loved Instant Action Ren Var maps with Bespin. Looking forward to Battlefront 2 with those maps included. Was on a family trip this weekend. Pre-downloaded the collection on my Switch. Waiting for the 14th. “I’ve been looking forward to this.”

All three has there place for reasons to play. CB1 for phase 1 clone boys, CB2 for Vader’s fist story, and BF2 for ships and modes
its literally what i wanted all these years, i loved battlefront 1 because of ship battles on planet,but there was no such thing in bf 2(that i loved more) but finally they made it,combined these top tier games(they can also add some mods,skins and new era,would be nice)
A lot of people say bf2 is the better game and I probably agree but they removed so much content that was available in bf1. Never understood why they'd do that. Makes no sense.
Some of the maps from bf1 were made downloadable into the second game but not everyone had access to that update.

I've only played Battlefront 2 in my childhood, so I'm excited for the first one. I remember my brother would get mods for the game, and it made it more fun. Can't wait!
Back then when I had my PS2 the sniping was easy for me because I played it everyday in the summer. And I use the super slow getting on the ground for sniping, the best place to do it is on a roof of a building, they will not kill you at all only of standing to high or close where they will see you.

A good idea for an online galactic conquest would be 2 generals picking planets to move to, while online instant action players drop in. Or, a voting system maybe.
It won't happen, but it's fun to think about.
Oh man. I am excited to play this game. Like, let me tell you. I played it when I was a kid. And these were the 2 Star Wars games. I've ever played before. I ever watched the movies. I play them so much on the p. S2 at the time and back in 2020 I played it on the Xbox 1. And now, since his 2024 I can wait to replay this game again. It's gonna hold good memories to my heart

Honestly inwasnt sure at first whether or not i should get the game but now thos XL mode has me intrigued.
As a original ps2 battlefront 2 player who hasn't played online before (at the time) or even the versions that had XL modes it honestly has me a little excited as the original versions felt slow yet balanced but now i want to see what it's like fast and chaotic.

agoodblasteratyourside and mostimpressive were a surefire way to have an easy breezy time in swbf2 classic. whenever I had a bad time in online, i'd just hop on the instant action and decimate the bots.

@Bombastic I'm looking to confirm if the Geonosis from the 2nd game is really one of your favorites or did you mean to say the Geonosis from Battlefront 1. The Geonosis in 2 was a shadow of its former self, completely shrunk and stripped down while the Battlefront 1 Geonosis was a grand battle with the citadel and techno union ships and plenty of vehicle combat.

If you have other ways to play these games currently and don’t want to use the online, I understand that you’d call this a cash grab, but to those who either haven’t played these games before, or used to but don’t have the option to play them anymore, these are two great games that are worth playing!
I have a big concern about the party. While obviously we have server browser but will we be able to chose a specific team? As far as I know, you coudn't select a team in online multiplayer in og game.

All textures have been upscaled/uprezzed to be 4K native with ai. This takes up 4 times for file size. I need people to stop complaining. If you don’t like re-releases or you not in the market right now to spend your hard earned money then don’t. This game re-release is for future proofing the games to the future of gaming on consoles and newer PC hardware.
All sound effects and music and voice lines and netcode has gotten a new face lift. Audio Quality now goes up to 24bit Dolby Digital (True Surround) instead of the original 16bit format CD Quality.
A new connection to a modern server stack has also been installed for the newer multiplayer experience for both consoles and PC. The game now runs on 64bit instead of 32bit, whice means instead pf 30tick servers the servers now update at 60tick.
All of these changes are to preserve the game for the future, there isn’t ever going to be a better way to play the game then this version. It doesn’t matter that the ai upscaling of textures are kinda bad in some small places because in best cases it can still be patched and fixed and the game will look way better now because of it being upscaled.
I hate when people state that this is a cash grab, BRUH! Then just don’t buy it if thats your opinion. I am personally soo hyped, I have way over 1000+ hours of Battlefront 2 on PS2 and XBOX Original. On PC I have around 600+ hours, be happy its happening and make sure to not spread hate and ruin it for the people who really look forward to this release.
There may not be 4 player split screen on the bf collection. But battlefront 2 2005 steam. Has a mod called nucleus coop where you can have mods and ad up to 4 or more players in split screen
I used to just queue like a dozen instant action games and play for hours.
I remember in battlefront 2 if you got some of your medals to legendary you could receive hero weapons. I wonder if they'll exclude them in to keep the game balanced? Also sniping was pretty easy if you shoot their legs because the hit box bigger(broken). I hope they don't fix that 🤣
I really enjoyed the story part of battlefront 2 as a new game a couple months ago so I think it you’ve never played the originals it can still be pretty good

So as I kid growing up I never was able to play bf2 online but I was curious about how the award weapons work with online play. In single player you did a thing and got like the damage reduction perk and such. Eventually will everyone be running around with all the perks unlocked all the items?
Id be cool for them to make their own dlc where they add new heros like ahsoka captin rex or even make it so that heros are selectable and its not only one hero per side per map
Yup! I agree. It sucks that primarily only PC players get mods when they can clearly port them over to consoles. They did that with Fallout 4, so why not with Battlefront?
There's probably dozens of movie character for original and prequel trilogy who deserve a shot..... at the very least give us Jar Jar Binks as a Hero character first so we can finally shoot Jar Jar.
Will certain shoddy AI upscaled textures be improved after release? Specifically ingame text ie fonts and character detail and lines on cloth, weapons, etc.
Something that I genuinely feel like would be really cool, but I’m not getting my hopes up a literally at all is if they added all of the contacts that was cut from the original games like in battlefront two they were supposed to have a hunter mode for Jarvis palace and a couple other maps. Also, Ben Kenobi was supposed to be a playable character and saw was a royal guard. There’s also a voice lines already in the Bears game please I doubt they’ll do it, but it would be fucking epic if a proper cut Contant in terms of those as well.

On Xbox series X they gave battlefront 1 and 2 HDR upgrade but no fps boost this update is pretty much us paying for a combination of two games with an FPS boost which isnt so bad considering the games are staples of peoples childhood

It's not a remaster. They're just upping the resolution and fps. And probably just touching up some textures. It's gonna look virtually the same.

People need to drop this pricing debate. If you don’t own the games it’s a really good price. If you do, I admit the Xbox discount is absurd but PCs is fair yet unnecessary since you can just mod battlefront and play online anyways making the purchase obsolete, so, yea just don’t buy it on PC. Now for the console players, it adds things and puts them all in one spot with a very slight upres. Reviving a near 20 yo multiplayer… it just doesn’t ever happen. If it does it’s incredibly rare. That is the selling point imo. And I personally believe that along with everything else is totally worth it.
