The battlefront franchise needs to be recognized and be supported once again.
It needs to not be handled by EA and DICE. This was ALWAYS going to be the outcome under them.

That’s so weird, I find a full prequels supremacy match pretty much every time, same with Ewok hunt, galactic assault, HVV, co op. It’s good on Xbox. Even the sequels maps get full

I wouldn't have bought it at this stage. You really won't enjoy it online with how dead it seems to be and you will be stuck without unlocks for good few days or weeks of play. You'll probably give up before you unlock them.
That's why I Play on Xbox. And PlayStation now again I found that PC version of it would be okay but I just don't seem to be as many people on the PC and there are on PlayStation and Xbox.
It would be nice to rally everybody back together and try to get battlefront popular again.

I still regularly play BF2 multiplayer on PS4, you regularly find full matches on Supremacy, Galactic Assault, and even Starfighter Assault.

It is truly a shame that the Dev team abandoned Battlefront 2 for Battlefield 2042. I wonder what they would do if they came back and gave the community what we have been wanting...
I've always enjoyed a quick coop match or two, and will still play pretty regularly. Never wait on matches, and there's always new people coming through.
On ps5 it’s a lot worse now but I can still get matches very regularly at common times. Playing on Xbox is so much better and there are a lot of people at petty much any time

This game has soo much potential. If they didn’t focus on other games this could’ve been one is the most player and best games of today. Missed out on big opportunities such as more good maps, heroes and villains etc.

Everytime i think of bf2 2017 i always think of what wasted potential this game was dropped for bf2042 that ended up flopping makes me so sad what the game could have been

How do u play online battlefront on ps5 I’ve tried to play Galactic assault etc but it says I’m offline and I keep getting a error code, any pointers?
In North America most game modes are still active. Coop, supremacy, and GA can all match in under a minute, and most small matches within 5
I’ve never played old BF2 but I have a lot of fun memories on Dice’s BF2 and personally it’s one of my favourite games. Even if it may be chaotic with hero’s and grenades I think that’s the fun of it. And killing hero’s isn’t as hard as it is as long as you dodge and they don’t use the force (it’s 50/50 lol)
Classic BF2 is pretty cheap on steam and the massive availability of mods make it very worth a purchase.

Dice fucked up by not including Hero Hunt. I loved that sense of being a powerful Hero/Villain being hunted down by a squad of soldiers. Hiding in trees, sneaking someone with Force pushes. Good times
BF2015 was a goat game. I only started playing it in 2018ish, but it was still great. Most fun game ever. Its more arcady and more immersive than BF2 2017. I still play bf2 tho

3:00 funny thing about that…this is set in the 2015 map. When facing Echo Base and look to your left, you’ll see the entire first and second phase from the 2015 map
o'relatable, they always put you in the sequels' maps, even though no one is playing on it, its like they're tryna "Promote" the sequels
This still my all time favorite online shooter to play. This games still looks absolutely beautiful on an OLED tv running from the Series X. I’ve been playing this game daily since December first and the lobbies have been full everyday. Seems like more people come back to this game durning the Holidays every year.
I play every week with my friend on a Tuesday evening in the UK and we get in matches with no issue
I regularly play on PS5 and am always surprised at how quickly the lobbies fill. I've never had to wait more than a few seconds
I do still play BF2. But only the hero modes. “Hero Showdown” and “Heroes VS Villains.” Although ever since Spider-Man 2 came out, I haven’t been able to find a game in BF2 since.
I played multiple full server supremacy like a month ago(although im on xbox) with like 2 min wait.
You should get your old squad back together for a video or two! That would be really fun to see
Welcome back man! Great to see you dive back into BFII! So good to see 😎Try changing your Ping Site settings under your EA Account. For me when I play on PC or PS4/5. Always changing between US Oregon or Germany. Sucks always having to deal with high ping to get a full match on Blast haha
i still play this pretty regularly with a friend of mine, we mainly play coop missions and heroes vs villians/hero showdown and we usually never have to wait for matches. only thing that gets kind of annoying are the majority of people left playing the game are max levels XD
I thought how would it be annoying but then remembered getting perfectly kited by a Palpatine or perfect blocked by a Vader
This game would still be getting active development (or we would have a Battlefront 3 in active development) if they had done a better job on the monetization. It's very easy to picture an alternate timeline where the monetization people at Dice/EA weren't brainless idiots and launched the game with a healthy monetization system and the game made enough money to be supported for years.
If they had done a more standard monetization like Apex Legends or Fortnite where you just buy skins instead of buying actual game progression, or even had done a standard battlepass, the game would have made so much money because the core game was genuinely good! People like spending money on genuinely good, well made games - its just Dice/EA had put the most insane , absurd monetization in any game ever in the game at launch which backfired in their face tremendously.
You can get into the att Walker and control where they go on Geonosis. Thought it was worth mentioning since you were complaining about only being able to get in vehicles through the menu.
The last time I played (Europe servers) I mostly got the supremacy mode if I selected any mode. I think it's different in other parts of the world
My regular gaming sessions are Republic Era Supermacy, Republic Era Galactic Assault, Starfighter Assault and Separatist CO OP

I did have fun most of the time playing this BF2, but you're right about the sequel map cause they stink like Jabba's pits and I immediately leave until a good map shows up. Thank goodness we don't have to worry about that in the classic collection
As an Australia "vanilla" Battlefront II player, the modes that work the most are HvV, Hero Showdown and Co-Op
In Europe you find full Galactic Assault and Supremacy servers full all the time, HVV and 2v2 everytime, in Europe is way more played, I play for like 5 years and never seemed dead, for supremacy you find server instantly, I just hit search and in 20 seconds I am in the game.
Honestly, console lobbies are mostly active (at least in the region I'm in, US). Especially on Co-OP where I spent most of my time post-support-plug-pull.
Really SWBF2 is just so nice and pleasing just by vanilla version on console, really makes you wish they continued support of some kind with the game on consoles.
Really, E.A missed out on their decisions for abandoning BF2 for Battlefield 2042. I mean, we could still be getting content...perhaps even now as I type.
Either way it's said and done.

BF2 has always been one of my favorite game, I always end up going back to it, the intensity of balanced supremacy lobbies in the prequel era is one my favorite gaming experience of all time

Dude, your videos about the details of the maps were my favorite thing to watch back when the game was at its peak. Gotta ask though, why do you never zoom in with your sniper rifles? lol especially on Crait. If you get the First Order side, there's a downed TIE Fighter on the left of the map when the map first starts that's great for cover and you can pick people off left and right with the NT242. And next time you use Palpatine, jump attacks are where it's at. Using him on the ground is a death sentence.
The game is very much alive on European servers

Once i loaded up for quick match 10 times and only got sequel matches that needed 20 more people
Thank you for the look back on BF 2. It is interesting, because you play on the Playstation and Supremacy seems to be more or less dead on this platform too. I'm playing on PC and I experience the same. Galactic Assault is the more active of the two large scale game modes here too.
I mean, I can only speak for myself, but I played BF 2 since its beta and GA has remained the "main game mode" of this game for me.

i’ve been playing battlefront for years after they’ve stopped releasing content for it; and i think the player base and community is still strong in certain game modes and there isn’t a lot of toxicity which is great. people are still getting on and having fun 6 years later, which is great considering the path of this game. i got it at release and i’ve played it way more post 2020 than i did then.
I’ve gotten into a Star fighter assault match and it was missing 2-3 players 😂 it’s crazy

The 104th Battalion (the largest BF2 Milsim in the world) is back at work! We just had an "operation" with our few thousand members from around the globe, where our companies and platoons compete between each other to complete challenges over a few weeks! We had it from mid-November until Dec. 17, and it was a ton of fun. The game is alive with us! (Transmission from CT-31207 "Gum", Fireteam Leader of Fireteam Aerion, Accalia Squad, 48th Phoenix Platoon, Rogue Infantry Company, 104th Battalion!)

I can say I play on PC daily and yeah, its starting to get to that point where only the Dedicated Star Wars Fans, are the only people I see, sometimes I even get the same people and we have tiny conversations mid match

I play BF2 on Xbox and it’s a bit weird where sometimes it loads you into a match that needs 19 players, you just need to quit and rejoin and you’ll almost immediately join a full match
Supremacy Clone Wars, Co-Op, Galactic Assault and Starfighter are the modes where you will most likely find people in the lobbys.
I redownloaded 05 bf2 and when I was a kid I never realized that asajj ventress was playable. Seeing it for the first time blew me away.
Honestly for me in BF2, Crait and Geonosis were the rarest maps to play in Galactic Assault
Since May the 4th in 2024 lobbies only take a few seconds to find so im glad that this game is still alive.
Been playing recently on the ps5 for old time sake, and every time I try to play all on Supremacy it's always Felucia on the droid side.

I don't know how to add mods on battlefront 2 ps4, so I have only played vanilla. However, I absolutely LOVE this game and I tend to play it every evening if I'm available. I got into this game late so i missed it during it's prime, but i don't care. Getting to play as my favorite faction (the separatists) and crush my enemies as general grievous is just too fun lol

Servers on Xbox are pretty active midday, With supremacy (clone wars) is probably the most popular mode.

If your playing in next gen you have to wait for other players to join, sometimes it says 19 needed and boom a min later it’s full cuz old gen is still in the loading screen
I'm playing it right now, it takes so long to install. It's still installing and I'm playing it at the ready to start area, but it is a lot of fun. I recommend!

In Europe this game is pretty played, for supremacy and Galactic Assault you find games instantly almost everytime and also HVV and 2v2, you always find games, I play daily for 5 years, never seemed dead or didn’t find lobbies.
I'll never forgive EA for killing the game right after they saved it and were starting to make it good

Assult are like immersive missions of all eras, while supremacy is more like attack of the clones only.., assault is played a lit more..and then you have the usual heroes 4v4, showdown..2v2..very active on ps5...
And yeah dying is very easy.
