Dathomir looks so different because The Clone Wars animated series completely reworked what it and the witches looked and acted like. This is old Expanded Universe Dathomir.
Aka the better representation of the lore and dathomir instead of a really crap cartoon, that show is why the EU was able to be erased.

Star wars battlefront 3 would definitely be a great success with all of its space battles connected to ground battles it's so beautiful
on PSP we do have that its not as grand-scale but indeed its there an its pretty surreal suicide bombing from space

If micro-transactions are *just* for cosmetics or emotes and that kind of stuff I don’t think that’s a problem. But if it’s pay-to-win, then that’s a *big* problem.

@@Yorealdad ea never made this it was free radical design, this game would have released in ps3,xbox 360 era but sadly never did, and ea never started there own battlefront 3, ea rebooted the series in 2015 after a deal with disney, ea wanted to work on battlefront cause it was similar to battlefield, so battlefield was cancelled not once but twice, and battlefront 3 if we ever get it, it wont be made by free radical or ea and chances are it will be rebooted again by someone else, its just that the scale that the original bf3 is just so insane that for any company to live up to it, is very difficult and then theres all the costs of making it back then and making the game now it be on the levels of rdr2 budget or above
They did this 15 years ago, and today EA can’t be capable of making something this cool. Think about that.

Because they want to make a battlefront trilogy like free radical kinda did. Each title having sequential upgrades and new stuff for maximum profit. They weren’t thinking about the fans but making maximum profits….

Technically, Battlefront III still came out, but it was a severely downgraded version of what was originally planned. Alot of its content was recycled and used in Battlefront: Elite Squadron for the PSP

Yeah 12:33 he wondered why there was an Ion Canon on Endor and in the PSP game there's at least 3 on each map and you can use the planet one to disable the capital ship Shields quicker & enter. Capital ships can fire an ion Canon at captured planet command posts and maybe the other ion Canon on the planet only.

Elite Squadron was originally the PSP port of Battlefront III done by a different studio. By that token, they were able to repackage their game as its own title when the flagship was canceled.
The game, from what I've heard... was a lot more completed than we'll ever see. From what I understand at least, some of the game (the most completed version) was lost and even the devs don't know where those files are.
If that's the case, they're gone forever... and this that you're playing is the "most playable version ever (available to the public).
Then mods can complete it for us if there's no legal challenge?

More playable than the classics collection
The reasons for cancellation were never confirmed, with LucasArts and Free Radical giving conflicting reasons. This build was found on a dev Xbox being sold online, and we have *0* way to confirm what the final state of the game was when it was cancelled.
My friend's dad worked with a guy that worked on the game. The dude told us it was 100% done when they canceled it. He said he and everyone else working on it have no idea why it was canceled. I cannot 100% confirm this though as I didn't talk to the guy. My friend did. But knowing him he would have no reason to lie about it. So idk.
@@ninjacats200 Free Radical claims the game was mostly done but Lucasarts ran out of budget for marketing or something. Lucasarts claims Free Radical used Lucasarts funds for a different project. That's the last I heard
Apparently, it was cancelled because Free Radical had a lot issues optimizing the engine with people saying that the game could barely handle half the player-count on a map without suffering from unplayable framerate drops plus the fact that the Bot AI was never fully implemented to most game modes.
Another reason was that LucasArts was livid with Free Radical for moving people working on the game to the development of Haze, which led to LucasArts believing that Free Radical was stealing funds to finish Haze which led to them cracking harder on the team to finish Battlefront 3 before the end of 2008, which they were unable to do.
There are some talented modders that could totally fix this game.

I want a Battlefront 3 so so so SO BADLY! It actually looks pretty decent despite the glitches and unfinished nature of the game. But if they put time into it, years ago... this would've been so damn good! Literally, being able to fly up to a capital ship or do some space combat WHILST there's people fighting on the ground in the same map sounds amazing! I want a Battlefront 3, this version or a new one!
The whole "this game got cancelled because it was broken and tried to do too many things" line pisses me off because for one, to this day we don't actually know what the official reason was for BF3's cancellation and the devs are not at liberty to tell us because they're under NDA. I've heard from some sources that Free Radical's funding was cut because they underreported their difficulties and consistently failed to meet deadlines, so the "too ambitious" allegation MIGHT be true, but that doesn't mean the game was impossible to make happen if they'd been given the proper amount of time to complete it.
The idea that it was cancelled because it was broken, which Bombastic literally says in no uncertain terms at the start, is highly misleading. What he's playing is NOT a finished build, not even close. Despite what some on the internet might tell you, this game was not "99%" complete, it was basically feature complete, but they hadn't even begun to polish it when it was cancelled, so to say that it was cancelled BECAUSE it was broken is just straight up not true.
Lastly, that bothers me because it's exactly what EA would like you to believe, I like the new Battlefront games but the cancelled BF3 had tons of features that would've blown those games out of the water, and whenever you bring that up, their defenders will simply say "oh well those things aren't possible" and this narrative that the game was cancelled because these features were/are unreasonable absolutely strengthens that argument. Let me be clear, they could ABSOLUTELY do ground-to-space in a modern Battlefront game, the PSP exclusive Elite Squadron game did it lmao, sure it wasn't seamless there, but it gave you a lot more freedom than the way they do it in EA BF2 where you can only enter the enemy capital ship via a cutscene. Games have been made with space to ground combat by studios that don't even have a quarter of the resources that Disney or EA have available, they could absolutely do it, and to tell Star Wars fans that they can't is practically lying to them.

It was cancelled because the game would not have been finished on time and Lucasarts management wanted to save costs. Delaying it was out of the question as the then recently released Haze had received many delays and ended up very bad.

Such a shame. This game looks like a love letter to Star Wars, with all those heroes. Asajj, Padme, IG droid. Looks so epic. So sad.
It also had a lot of EU involved. With Dantooine, pre-TCW Dathomir and its Nightsisters, Dark Troopers and Vjun.

This is NOT the latest version, this is the only version that ever got leaked and yes it's very very early and buggy. There is a more recent build that plays and looks much better!

This is possible. The same maps and all with modern tech and this can work. But devs will always want a bigger more stupid goal for a game... this could be made.
ofc it could. look at star citizen. that is some random company having an entire star system. and ofc bugged. A bigger studio could do a map with space and ground easily with todays technology. But no of the big studios seem brave enough to risk another battlefront

A well done battlefront III, dang it, we’ve been wanting a battlefront III for almost 20 years, a one like EA BF2 with no micro transactions, dlc, and a good progression system, people would definitely buy it

I think the main issue with this and I might need to check the did you know gaming video again for their source. they said the game was near completion but at some point in development LucasArts basically just stopped sending them money and broke contact with the devs until they were forced to cancel it. Which man this hurts so much it could have been awesome.

You know... It could make sense for Disney to release a closed alpha of a quickly revamped version of this to test interest in an official release of some kind...
I actually made a halo map in forge that was like battlefront 3 in that you had stuff on the ground and a capital ship battle in "space". It was a Stargate themed map, with functional "stargates", the gate room in stargate command, a Daedalus class battle cruiser, and a goa'uld mothership. It also had ring transports. Both the battle cruiser and mothership had hangars with aircraft (hornets and banshees in place of f-302s and death gliders).
You said this type of game was never accomplished, but that BF2 mod literally does it in a nutshell.. in that ancient engine, too👀
Just imagine a few more months/a year just time to tweak things out. This would’ve been the ideal Star Wars experience for years. Definitely not 99% done but man did they have the whole concept and base game finished. Very criminal how it was scrapped and not finished to the end.

You should play Star Wars battlegrounds on Roblox, it is basically BF2 in Roblox but it has inquisitors, purge troopers, etc...

In Battlefront elite Squadron PSP game there 3 ion cannons on maps. One on the planet and one on a capital ship which there are two of. You will have to fire the planet one at the capital ship a couple of times to take that ship to zero in order to land you Starfighter in side or you would spend ages trying to get the shield down to zero but a hero Starfighter could take it down quicker but still takes time. The ships ion cannon could target planet command posts and the other ion Canon I think. But capital ships don't have any of the other weapons like you showed in this video.
We need a clone wars tv show battlefront, imagine playing maps and with heros/villians from the tv series.

There is only 1 game I know of that has ground to space battles without loading screens in 1st and 3rd person, and that's Star Citizen. Whole solar system without loading screens actually. Though it doesn't have battleship class ships yet. Biggest flyable ship is a 4 story yacht followed by a 4 player crewed nuclear bomber. Oddly enough I'd say it's currently more playable than this build of Battlefront 3. If Bombastic hasn't seen Star Citizen and it's potential to be the legally distinct Star Wars MMO we never had, I'd suggest he check it out via either videos or trying it for free during a free fly week(though expect lag during a free fly more than normally).
IDK if it's the same team or not (I doubt it is though and you'll see why in a bit), but there was loads of ex-free radical, pandemic, etc devs and a bunch of fans working on a version of this a while back and they were going to release it or free when it was done.. Until EA sent them a cease and decease order....
Edit: Oh! I just remembered when you said "No wonder this was cancelled, imagine showing this to the investors" Apparently the game was 99% complete and maybe weeks or a month or two away from release before EA pulled the plug on it (yes.. Pandemic the people who made the originals, and free-radical who made this one, were both owned and killed by EA...)

From the sound of it; this game became way too ambitious to be released and the likelyhood of releasing a broken game was way too high at the time. It is likely the reason why it was cancelled. However, with the modern technology at our disposal, I would like to see this one picked up once more...
Sometimes a games biggest downfall is its unachievable goal, we always want bigger but so often that is what made the game bad, to much, which is when quality suffers.

Give the license to Hello Games (No Man's Sky) to create Battlefront 3. They nailed the whole ground to space and back space ship journey, battles & multiple planets in multiple solar systems. They've worked out the hardest & most requested part. The character models and abilities are all that's left.

If it wasn't possible on consoles at the time then they could have released it only on PC and on Next Gen consoles later. But i don't think this build represents how the game was when it was cancelled.
