@@SolidPain6624I would agree, but unfortunately the triple AAA genre runs on greed nowadays. Most real passion is found in smaller indie titles, where there isnt any "upper-management" to destroy creativity.

@@BerserkerErik there are outliers, you’re right. You don’t have to look too far to see recent success to how gaming teams should be… helldivers 2 is a prime example of what SHOULD BE. The team responds to questions and complaints, not only that but they say we are working on it to ensure they are at least listening.
Mods are what made me put 200 hours into this game on steam. Love battlefront 2. The classic collection is so bad that it actually inspired me to make a video like this.

7:20 Seems that the UnOfficial Patch 1.3 is missing (Which adds Free Camera and Fake Console to the game, the later allowing for different skins to be chosen).

Main reasons why the mod looks better is that not only were the textures handmade instead of AI upscale, but also most of the models were handmade, which is most obvious when you compare the clone troopers from the vanilla game and the mod, and the one from the mod is much more detailed with more polygons.
Please try the battlefront 3 Legacy mod, or at least do a new video related to the collection that modder quite literally made that canceled game in the old game👀 very damn good work
YES!!, IT'S AMAZING!!
I've been modding the game for years and the amount of content and maps there are is insane. From Ki Adi Mundi restored lines, to changing the music for the menu, to maps with over 1000 units. There's literally no reason to get the collection.
For a 70GB “Classic Collection” download, this is kinda what I was expecting…. It to look like…
When u realize the classic collection was mainly meant for the console players that can’t even play the 05 games unless they have a PS2

@@oaktree5554 Its functional but even the offline experience is a mess, missing options, only 2 Player Splittscreen, a sound which kills eardrums sometimes.

When Aspyr first started re-releasing old Star Wars games I was so excited. Thinking about all the old games to replay with slightly better graphics. Like the Rogue Squadron trilogy. Now I’m worried that they’ll just release another over priced broken game pack.
Edit: I was even more excited at the KOTOR remake. But, on brand, they let me down again.
They lost the kotor remake which is probably part of why we still don't know anything about it. They probably had to fix Aspyr's mess before they could do anything else
Oh man don't even get me started cause I wanna play rouge squadron and rebel strike so badly and no matter how many times I try to run rebel strike on my series x dev kit on dolphin it always corrupts , and I have the GameCube but it's a pain in the ass for such dog shit resolution

No, it's about the community that didn't left day one. They looking for smallest amount of install mods as possible. This one died like GTA Trilogy and MCC. TRI-III Remaster isn't even polished and I am not getting anything from Aspyr again, period unless there's a change.
@@dragtogo2735I would argue that MCC had a revival as the devs did fix up their game with time and still poured love into it. I’m not sure though if the Battlefront Collection will get a similar treatment

Yeah if you have a PC there’s absolutely no reason to grab the classic collection unless you really want to experience some sort of multiplayer if that’ll ever work.
Original still has multiplayer on pc at least battlefront 2
@@PotatoeGamerLP Played multiplayer on BF2 2005 years ago and the servers were empty. I even hosted the campaign maps with a friend and only ever saw one person join. I just assume once the BF hype dies down in general, the original will go back to mediocre numbers too. Just can't win lol
@@NepgearafAt the moment it's an average of 150 players playing online in few servers around noon to midnight (Classic BF2).
@@El_Fabricio Ty for giving me the numbers. Can't just assume Steam numbers are legit when it's sold on GOG as well. So the player count on multiplayer is roughly the same as classic, what a shame. Can only assume mods would make the player pool even smaller :c

I pray to god that when the next generation of consoles is released it actually gives us
access to the game files so we can finally create mods compatible with consoles.
I know its an ardous task which could potentially destable games after release (especially when playing online),
but just imagine the level of longevity and bug fixing that community mods could reach...
It would essentially save games that have been abandoned by their developers as well as make for a stronger more lucratrive gaming community overall.
One way they could achieve this is by creating a built in mod store for all/most games... in which players could choose free or even paid community mods
that have been reviewed and supported by the respective developers. This would reduce cheating, mod compatible issues for online and even ensure
console players that the mods there installing won't damage or break the games or consoles that they are using it for.
It seems it’s a virtual requirement these days for games to be broken as hell on release despite the sizes of the studios they’re made by

Ive been playing this mod a lot, on the Geonossis map you can fly the LAAT's, but only the ones hovering higher above the ground, the 2 that are on the ground don't fly for whatever reason.

I imagine this wasn't the content you were hoping to be making with the release of Battlefront Collection.
I literally downloaded these mods last weekend and enjoyed BF2 in all its glory. After seeing the classic collection I did exactly the same thing, just went back to the OG BF2 and got the same mods you did, which I find a crazy coincidence and had/ am having a blast!!!
One of the Battlefront 2 mods I really love is Battlefront extreme it no visual upgrade but just 9 classes to choose from when you play a it’s so beautiful
Me and a fellow modder are working on a mod for EA battlefront 2 called “Realistic Overhaul”
This mod aims to overhaul the health and damage system to be a more movie accurate tactical experience. This mod will prioritize realism and accuracy to the Star Wars movies, while also maintaining balancing between characters. The overhaul will affect troopers, heroes, and reinforcements. Some other changes will be that Friendly fire will be present, rockets will be more effective against vehicles, recoil and weapon sway will be more present, snipers will one shot, grenades will be more realistic, and star card abilities (thise affecting damage and health) will be balanced.
One example of balancing will be that the droidekas shield will be op similar to how it is in the movies, but when their shield is down they have low health especially when rolling (1.25 damage multiplier) similar to the OG bf games.
We plan to release a beta within the next three weeks, with a full 1.0 release coming in late May or early June. Let me know if you have suggestions or questions! I want this to be a community based project built for the fans! Also I plan to run this mod with a few others on a kyber V2 server this summer. May the force be with you.

There is an Xbox dlc mod for the battlefront 2 on steam, ASPYR actually used assets from it in the first trailer from the classic collection.

It's so confusing how fans can make such impressive stuff with compressed files and no access to source code, yet paid devs that have everything on a silver platter can mess up so badly with Classic Collection
Try this with Saga Edition, Heroes of the Galaxy and Reign of the Old Republic with custom maps. You will get best Star Wars Battlefront experience I think, I love this combo. 😁

I'm a huge fan of this mod. Huge props to Harrisonfog and his team for putting this together.
Also, if you want to play with all the added stuff from the Classic Collection in the OG Battlefront 2, there's a mod pack called XBOX DLC that has everything. No need to buy the Classic Collection when you can get all this for free.

7:20 You need the *unofficial 1.3 patch.* This enables the "fake console" which is essentially a cheat list, and the remaster mod uses this menu for the skin changer

@@josephmichel6023 ok well i have literally had 0 issues with this game what so ever. my specs are a AMD Ryzen 9 5600HX, Nvidia 3060rtx, and 32 gb of ram. i have no issues with servers what so ever an i literalyl live in the arctic circle. i have seen footage of other people. but i can only speak to what ive experienced, and thats nothing but fun times on a classic game
@@kylebaird9954 I’m glad that’s been your experience. This is a game everyone loves and should’ve been something to bring people together in celebration. Unfortunately though for the majority of people it’s still a mess. Not to mention more info has come out on just how lazy this port was with the use of ai upscaling, mods used from modders etc. meanwhile there’s a full remaster mod out there made by a handful of people for the og bf2 that looks amazing, and even adds new maps and character skins so. No excuse for how half ass and broken this launched

If they left the fans do the work for the re release then this is how it probably would’ve came out. And at that point I wouldn’t mind spending 39 bucks for a game in this new improved experience and with paying for a game like this we support the modders win win for everyone
You need to do a challenge, ever command post you get or how many kills then upgrade to a stronger character!

(Adds bf1 maps, new units and 1,3 unofficial patch with free camera and other goodies)
The Clone wars revised (lots of great animated TWC with new units and ashooka hunt modes)
Ansem darkseers mappack (op the force unleshed units, even kit fisto + ventress, with insane effects and fun gameplay)
Battlefront extreme (my favorite mod ever gameplay wise, the creme de la creme of bf mods)

6:21-6:26 Speaking of droidekas, turns out you can accidentally PERMANENTLY remove your ability to enter ball mode on the collection on console. I changed my vehicle controls and I forgot that droidekas fall under vehicle controls. Went to change my controls back only to see there is no option for it. By default the ball mode button is circle, but vehicle controls have it listed as >>none

Saw loads of people on tik tok saying everyone is moaning over nothing and the classic collection is exactly as advertised, they seem to have no knowledge that the original Battlefronts 2's servers are still up and has better modding capability so you can easily get better graphics. They spend £35 on a poorly done upscale, i spend £5 on the original and 1 hour of modding and have a better experience.
