Glimmora isn’t based off of a flower lol It’s based off of copper(II) sulfate, which forms in those flower-like crystalline structures and is blue. It’s highly poisonous, and since it it’s poisonous when it burns, it fits the corrosion ability like Salazzle, the fire/poison type, does It’s a rock type, why did you think it was based off a flower 😭
@@foggy8298”Why did you think it was a flower” >Mentions it has flower like qualities. I dunno I can think of a few reasons why the OP to thought that
@@ubermaster1 well yeah I don’t fully blame them but also it’s not a grass type Like, have you heard of psuedowoodo? @foggy8298 I mean, yeah it makes sense for Glimmora to have Corrosion, but Dragalge should just also get Corrosion, because it straight up has poison that "is strong enough to eat through the hull of a tanker." Later dex entries even specifically comment on how Dragalge's poison is capable of "corroding metal." Like, it's _right there._
This is a really good style of power point to copy. The biggest mistake most people make when creating presentations is to just put all their info on the slides then read them word for word, and that’s super boring. Good presentations have short bullets you can expand on, images, and often some humor in there, and electric does all three extremely well. So it’s definitely a great place to use as a template to create your own presentations.
To be honest, when the format was just Great Tusk I was running a Glimmora as a counter. Tera grass turn one and rock polish, sweep with Miracle seed energy ball and clean up with the rest of the team. One layer guaranteed of toxic spikes (probably two with a revenge Kingambit).
I love running Tera Grass on Glim in Showdown, i get to resist Earth Powers from opposing lead Glim and go for a KO with Energy Ball or Earth Power, especially against other leads like Quaquaval and Great Tusk/Landorus
Reading people talk about glimmora’s inspiration makes me realize how obtuse it is as a Pokémon Like, it’s based off of copper sulfate. But who tf knows what copper sulfate is? I see people thinking it’s a flower, people thinking it’s based off of radioactive metals, people think it’s like a stalactite formed from acid rain erosion (which is a close guess honestly) Can’t wait for the toothbrush Pokémon based off of idfk flouride It’ll be a rock/normal type with tidy up and all of the healing moves and it’ll have regenerator for an ability
I always played Gilmore with a choice scarf. People always thought I was going to do a slow stealth rock, but SURPRISE!!! POWER GEM!!! no more Lando T for you.
I do use a Glimmora on my competitive team, more as a bulky little guy but I do use Meteor Beam because it’s funny to just nuke something. Here is the set someone helped me create: EVS: 244 hp, 4 defence, 108 speed, 76 special attack and special defensive IVS: 0 attack Item: Power Herb Nature: Modest Spiky Shield Meteor Beam Sludge Bomb Earth Power Tera Type: Grass
I used glimmora in OU singles for a bit and managed to get some success by running a hybrid defensive attacker glim that focused on tanking physical hits to drop toxic spikes and make use of it's good special attacks to get rid of threats with stuff like earth power
0:39 here, glimmora can be seen eating the spanish. this was actually rather common thousands of years ago, but over time the residents of paldea learned how to domesticate this beast for what liars would like to call “the greater good”. (hazard setting)
Fun part with mono type for glimmora In mono rock one possible set to run on it is choice scarf Cause mono rock has a major lack of fast special attackers glimmora fills the role really well having enough speed to out speed chien pao while modest (with the choice scarf ofc) especially considering it has dazzling gleam, energy ball and earth power which all covers types that rock is bad against (fighting, ground, water and steel)
One time someone led Glimmora and I led Hatterene. I figured I could bounce any hazards they had while taking them out with a couple psychics. Sure, maybe I'd get poisoned or even die, but it seemed like the best option. However, to my horror they did not have a focus sash, but rather used a power herb and proceeded to charge up a meteor beam. They missed. I killed them with psychic. They forfeited. Using low acc moves is one thing, but when your entire strategy lives and dies by the acc of one move, don't use that strategy. Also stay in school and don't smoke, kids.
@m1k932 not really. Nihilego is faster but has worse physical defense, and both of these mons want to be more defensive than offensive. The big thing though is glimmoras two abilities, which are both more useful to it than beast boost is for nihilego. Glimmora also has mortal spin to clear hazards. Tbh though I'm also a big fan of both, and nihilego isn't too bad it's just 90% of the time a competitive player would want glimmora over it on a team.
sorry about the audio, i messed it up in the editor. will be back to normal soon!
Audio is funny
shout out to glimmora for making vgc players feel the pain of entry hazards
Stealth rocks ting Lu actually just won a tournament
The fact that you can run it as either a hazard setter or special attacking threat and still run Toxic Debris just because you can is hilarious.
i'd also like to add that glimmora looks awesome when using meteor beam.
this _obviously_ plays a huge part in it's competitive success
Bro thinks he's the ultimate weapon 💀
just remember: No matter how sick Meteor Beam is, it is a rock type move and therefore you have a 10% chance of having the funny gimmick flop
technically you still get the +1 SpA, but yeah
I don't get why pokemon like Dragalge won't get Corrosion, but Gamefreak gave it to the frail flower that already got a way better signature ability.

Really like Glimmora's design and Meteor Beam, so the fact they're good together is nice.
One of my favorite Pokémon from Paldea for sure.
Iron moth that also got meteor beam and is waiting miraidon to become broken
tfw a mon with 130 special attack was passive

Glimmora be shiny
People out here using Geeta's signature Pokemon better than she ever did lol.
Meteor Beam being 90% accuracy is a sick joke created by Big Archaludon to advertise more dance lessons to the local Tornadus population
Glimmora is a pokemon
I don't think so
big if true
Okay I have a genuine question is this a running joke on this channel because I swear every new video the audio gets quieter
no im just dumb and forget to increase the audio sometimes, that's my bad
Glimmora's movepool is very large for a mon like this, it has almost perfect coverage.

yeah but glimm also resists dazzle and moonblast
Wild that glimmora isn't the lead in the scarlet and violet champion battles but the last pokemon out
I haven’t watched the video yet, but is it Meteor Beam? I LOVE Meteor Beam Glimmora in VGC
Your videos are awesome, just wanted you to know that
the fact that Boingus can draw strength from the heavens to use meteor beam just proves further that Boingus is the ultimate life form.
