I wish you had mentioned the transmission first! That's pretty much what I was waiting for, and I sat through the entire video only to find that that particular car didn't have a place to check the transmission fluid. Otherwise, it was a good video.
Kevin Matthews it's basically a sealed maintenance free system, for the most part unless you did something weird to the tranny you don't need to worry until about 60k, after that take it in and they can change out the oil. I just did mine and it's easy as long as you can raise the car up and keep it leveled
It does have a transmission level check. Transaxle must be warm, car must be level. Facing front of car, front lower corner of transaxle, a plug about size of 50cent coin, turn counter clockwise until it stops, about half a turn, then pull it straight out. Fluid should slowly trickle out if correct level.
I know I thought the same thing. Plus I've seen other videos where men have not taking it to mechanic and filled up their transmission fluid. I don't need to watch a video about a man who thinks he's a mechanic and then the man tell you to take your car to a mechanic
Good video. You can check the transmission oil yourself but you need to remove the aircleaner and filter assembly. Directly below it is the cars transmission and the black transmission fluid tank on the side. You have easy access to the fill and drain plug if you remove the air cleaner and filter box.
The engine can be cold or hot while checking the oil. And something this guy didnt point out is, the vehicle should be on level ground always. And you can still check the transmission fluid its just harder and more things you have to pay attention too.
i just checked the coolant level while it was hot. it sprayed and burnt the skin off my face. ill be alright though. by the way can you put piss in the windshield wiper container?
Hi I have a question, I have a 2014 Elantra and I noticed that my antifreeze/coolant level is a bit low but I’m not sure what kind goes into my car. Is it ok to use generic autozone coolant or could you tell me if I have to use green or orange coolant?
You can open your owners manual which should be in your glove compartement. Look for “fluids” find the antifreeze. I would just open the cap and see which color antifreeze is there, and accordingly added the right one. If your warranty is over you can add even water, but if not then get antifreeze from your dealer.
I have elantra 2014 and want to add brake fluid please tell me how i can understand which fluid add dot4 or dot3... please tell me...( i dont know previous version dot4 or dot3 )
Thank you I’ve been searching for literally hours for the fluid reservoir on my Elantra and Côme to find out it’s electronic power steering is bullshit
Simply use 50/50 hydrogen peroxide and Water mix together with 2 drops Dawn dish soap micro fiber cloth rinse cloth separate container water or you'll just spread dirt around wipe seats rinse in plain water the rag until clear water is seen
Elantra redesign started in 2012 so this is NOT for 2010-2011. This actually looks like an Accent (shorter) but could be a 2012 or later Elantra. I wish I watched this before buying power steering fluid though, because it's true, it is electric and you can't replace the fluid yourself.
M M I’m not sure if it’s a sealed transmission or not. If it’s sealed it can’t be serviced to my knowledge . If it isn’t, you need to get the transmission to operation temperature. Then there will be a plug at the bottom of the transmission. If trans fluid comes out then it is good. If fluid doesn’t come out you need to add until it does.
There is a plastic ring in the steering column that deteriorates. It cost $7 and can be replaced by you or a mechanic. There are videos about this. Hyundai has a warranty on this part for up to 10 years/100,000. It is a well known design flaw.
KillerBOZombie it's not maintenance free it's an electric motor on the top of the drive shaft and that motor is what steers the car right or left and there are a lot of issues that motor burns out and you lose power steering
Thanks for explaining that there's electric power steering, so no need to worry about steering fluid levels.
Lmao been looking everywhere for a place to fill up my power steering
@@HAKAMALAKADEEKYDODA lmao same here just came across this 😂
Same here 😂
Good to know!

@@bobcajunwon9552 Thank you so much!!!
Kevin doesn't know how to scroll through a video 😂😂😂😂

I don't need to watch a video about a man who thinks he's a mechanic and then the man tell you to take your car to a mechanic
That explains why I could not find the steering and trans fluid sticks. Very helpful.
You are so cute and thanks for the info! I’m looking to buy a 2012 Elantra so this will really help me during my inspection. Thanks! 😄
Thank you so much! I did not know about the transmission fluid not having access.
THANK YOU FOR A GREAT VIDEO EVEN I CAN UNDERSTAND!!
Thanks I am in Oklahoma been looking for powers steering fluid you help me a lot.

Man well explained.

Never knew that. :)
Awesome thanks bud disnt wanna pay a arm and a leg for tranny fluid change ! Gracias amigo

How do you check power steering if it's automatic?

Since the power steering electric what do you do when the steering wheel starts to tighten up?
Thank you I’ve been searching for literally hours for the fluid reservoir on my Elantra and Côme to find out it’s electronic power steering is bullshit
Is this a 2015 hatchback you're looking at?
You should mention what type of fluids to put in for all of the different systems.
Caleb Torrez he did, rewatch and listen closely.
You can check ATF by yourself .
4:05 sec fwrd to power steering info y.w 😊
"a mechanic can check transmission fluid, you can't."
Hold my beer.
I literally came here to see how to check my transmission fluid lol
@@theherbpuffer same here too
Same
I have the same car, same seats and color. How do you clean them!!! they stain and the stain wont go away
Rug doctor. Upholstery cleaner that uses water and a cleaner with an extractor tool. There are loads of videos on here about cleaning your car seats
I got seat covers for like $24.99 off of Amazon 2 years ago and they work like magic.
Simply use 50/50 hydrogen peroxide and Water mix together with 2 drops Dawn dish soap micro fiber cloth rinse cloth separate container water or you'll just spread dirt around wipe seats rinse in plain water the rag until clear water is seen
Seat covers make it all go away lmfao

1:24 Did you mean "start the car and make it run" to check coolant levels? Not sure what you meant to say when you stated "make it move". Thanks mate!
He meant shake the car up and down so the water shakes (with ur hand not starting the car) if am not late
But u can do the transmission fluid and check yourself though.
The fluid is low would this ruin or make the transmission slip
Yes
I have 125000 miles on my elantra and the transmission fluid has never been changed. Could I do more damage by changing it?
Thanks
If it doesn't need power steering fluid then why is my steering wheel making a squeak noice when i turn it? Please help lol
If you know how to check your transmission fluid without the dipstick. Then you dont need to take it to a mechanic and be over charged. Just an fyi
M M

Get some Jack stands and check the transmission fluid yourself
"oil is black so have to change" my man you talking nonsense
Maximal 🤣
Not making fun just never heard that one before lol
Garbage car with electric power steering. I test drive a Hyundai and I noticed the steering wheel is sucks
Name something better than electric power stering ? It saves fuel, fever components. And its maintence free
