I flew 9000 miles to watch Jeff Gordon race in 2016 when he pinched hit in Dale Jnr car. For 1 race the best thing he gave me a 1/24 scale car which he'd signed. I watched him from his 3rd year. A hero and the driver who turned NASCAR into what it is today.

Steve LaTart said Gordon never put him self first. Actually Jeff did 93 times thats why he's a legend.

I was there from the very beginning, I might have missed his 125 win, but I was there for '93 Daytona 500 and have been rooting for him ever since.

The most amazing and rare thing about seeing that 93rd victory was that we all pretty much knew that we were seeing his last win. Most drivers you see their last wins, but you don't know it is their last at the time. Because they race another year or 2 and can't compete. Then you're like, oh yeah, that was his last win. You can't savor it. Martinsville was different. We got to see it one last time, I mean there was a chance he was going to win at Miami, but he wasn't as dominant as he was in 2014 so it was a long shot. Martinsville 2015 was just an amazing race to watch.

Part of me will never get over Evernham leaving, whatever the reasons. He threw away so much. Not that it matters to him what some random dude on the internet thinks, but it really sucks. One other thing that will always stick in my craw is him being denied another Brickyard win by a bum like Menard winning on strategy.

The greatest of all time. Bias aside, no one will dominate the way he did. I no longer watch NASCAR after watching from 99-2015. It just isn't the same and never will be. I had a rough childhood growing up. Looking forward to watching Jeff dominate every weekend made it simpler to get through the tough times. Iconic. Better than anyone before and after him. Jimmie Johnson is the only other individual that has an argument.

When Richard Petty was racing they had more races then now they would race on Friday Sat. And Sunday. So yes when you race 3 times a week or more you can win 200 races in 20 years. In less time. I was a petty fan then a Jeff fan. Miss both of them. And miss Dale Sr. So let's get racing on the whole week end see how many wins they get Then.

Gordon accumulated the MOST points over an entire season 7 times! But he's "only" a 4-time champion. Why is that? Cuz of the sorry ass Chase. It literally erased his points leads several times through 26 races, it was over 150 points before the 27th race but was wiped away cuz of the Chase. COMPLETE BS.
The Chase made Jimmie Johnson's legacy & killed Gordon's. Gordon should have 7 championships & Jimmie 4 chips. The Chase penalized drivers who were most consistent over the season vs those who were a little hotter over the last 10 races. I never liked the Chase cuz of that very reason. Drivers who were the best over the entire season lost multiple titles cuz of the points & field reset.
It ruined NASCAR & gave Drivers titles who weren't the best over the ENTIRE season. JG was the greatest casualties & JJ was the greatest beneficiary of it, making him look better & more dominant than he really was. 2004 & 2007 being the biggest crocks of BS where Gordon did his job under the system used since the beginning.
Jeff Gordon is literally the beat driver of the modern era & arguably all-time. He's at worst top 3. With 7 titles, you can argue him as the GOAT. NOT Jimmie "beneficiary" Johnson.
