Standing feet away from drivers at introductions and even as they neared the firing of the engines. Then watching the best retaliation when Kenseth wrecked Logano. and to top it off Jeff wins his final race at his best track. Well while everyone bitches about Kyle Busch being the champion, I'll be a more sensible human being. Thank you Jeff Gordon for all the great years, all the amazing moments, but it is going to be so weird going to Martinsville next year and not having him their in the car. As for my favorite Gordon moment, Jeff's win at Indy last year. His 90th, true championship form, and tied Michael Schumacher as the only driver to have 5 wins in any racing series at Indy. Also, I got to see Gordon win at Martinsville twice in 2013, and just a few weeks ago. #24ever

    Man, from 1995 to 1999 he had the most dominant run in Nascar history in my opinion. He won 47 of the 161 races in those five years. That's over 25 percent of the races. He had 104 top 5's and 119 top 10's. He led 9,607 out of the 46,855 he completed. He also scored 28 poles with an average start of 7.02 and an average finish of 9.44 over those five years, with three championships, almost four in a row from 1995 to 1998. His teammates Texas Terry Labonte beat him out in 1996 with a little better consistency that year which says a lot about the year he had that year. He also was running at the finish of 142 of those races with 120 lead lap finishes. The five years after weren't that bad either. He won 67 out of 339 race from 1995 to 2004. He had 177 top 5's and 230 top 10's and 50 poles. He led 16,217 of 98,130 laps he completed. His average start was 8.76 and average finish was 10.95. He also added his fourth championship in 2001. He was running at the finish of 304 of those races with 249 lead lap finishes. Dude is a legend.

Excellent video Jeff Gordon was my hero growing up as a kid. I grew up a house divided, I liked Gordon and my dad was an Earnhardt fan. My mom was for Sterling Marlin . So as a kid in the 90s race day was rather rough because Jeff Gordon won a lot. Lol.

    From restrictor plate to road coarse he proved he could win anywhere. But my favorite was the 97 southern 500. Mainly he didn't have the best car at the end of that race. But talent, balls and determination showed up at the end.

    can you imagine if the the chase was never implemented. he would have won 7 titles. also in 2014 when Keselowski wrecked him while he was leading the points. Man! Best ever in my opinion

      Yeah I hate the Chase. It has hurt Gordon's legacy by robbing him of 3 titles.

    • @naturewisdom677
      @naturewisdom677 Před 5 lety

      @@christenn32 Tony Stewart won the title under 3 different systems. So how did it rob Gordon but help Stewart? Did that happen? Or was Jeff Gordon simply not good enough to win the title? Just because your driver wasnt good enough to adapt to the times dont take away accomplishments from other drivers who thrived and found a way to step up under the pressure mainly Tony Stewart and Jimmie Johnson who won 9 titles between them on Jeff Gordons watch from 2002-2013. Both of your arguments are WEAK. Gordon couldnt adapt. And you all live in the past and wish some alternative reality would give Gordon his 3 titles he "lost". Stop it. Hes a 4 time champ. 93 wins. And no titles since 2001. That.....is.....reality.
      DEAL WITH IT AND ACCEPT REALITY

    I know his career was nowhere near as stellar as Jeff's but the legacy of the 93 rookie class across NASCAR is undeniable. could you do top 10 Bobby Labonte moments? some examples could be the photo finish at Atlanta with Dale Sr. the INCREDIBLE final laps battle with Dale Jr at Pocono (probably the most exciting gentleman racing I've ever seen). winning atlanta while terry won the title. his only short track win at Martinsville. his Talladega win in 2007

    • @jbaskinger41
      @jbaskinger41  Před 8 lety
