      I'll always associate #20 with Tony, #24 with Jeff, #3 with Dale Sr., #2 with Rusty, and #43 with Richard Petty. I associated #28 with Davey Allison for a long time despite the fact that Ernie Irvan, Dale Jarrett, Kenny Irwin, and Ricky Rudd also drove that car.

    • @practicalwerewolf
      @practicalwerewolf Před 3 lety +2

      That's because he is the man who made the #20 important in the sport of stock car racing. Just like Earnhardt #3, Gordon #24, Petty #43, Rusty #2, Martin #6, Alan Kulwicki #7, Davey Allison #28 and JJ's #48 etc... etc... etc... Tony Stewart even brought AJ Foyt's #14 back to the forefront and is also known for that number. I'd say Harvicks #29 & #4 as well as Kyle Busch's #18 m&ms ride garner that same attention. Someone in this comment section claimed Tony didn't dominate like Earnhardt etc... and that person does not realize that from an overall racing standpoint Stewart has won more races in many different racing styles than just about any driver in Nascar history and won or competed at an extremely high level throughout... Earnhardt did not race at a high level at anything other than Nascar, IROC and Prototype racing (yet he did win 7 champions during the most evolving years of Nascar which to me makes him the best ever in Nascar history) but he could never had achieved the same success Stewart has in the plethora of different styles of racing that he competed in. They had to invent the Triple Crown Championship because Tony was the first to ever achieve such an unthinkable goal. Tony is one of the most DOMINATE race care drivers to ever walk the face of the planet..... Nascar is not the only form of racing that exists.
