  • This recreation of the defunct real-life Joyland Amusement Park in Wichita, KS "Roller Coaster" (1949 - 2004) was made using the CDX Blocks system by Coaster Dynamics. The train was made by sanding the block tab parts down and gluing to brass metal for extra weight. The car bodies are also from Coaster Dynamix and I used stickers to replicate one of the 1970's era train paint scheme, which was my favorite (the other during this time was a red, white and blue Stars and Stripes theme). Awesome job. Glad to see new vid. I was tempted to purchase the CDX blocks system. Still hoping Coaster dynamix will create more stuff.

Ahh man... Wichita KS and Joyland Amusement Park??? To kewl for school. I grew up 120 west of Wichita and went to Joyland in 60's and early 70's. You have built and awesome coaster! Love it. Am struggling to get my coasterdynamics kit built.. (more due to a lack of time vs. trying)

Wichita is my hometown! I grew up with fond memories of Joyland. It always breaks my heart to know the park is gone. Have you been on this coaster before?

Have you tried experimenting with painting the track? It's a shame that such a simple track design only comes in black.
