Beyond Epicness
its very epic ngl
Alright. Well, this is literally the only reason I created the universe
Charle's neighbor: "Why do I hear boss music?"
Lol exactly. This is what his neighbor hears just before Charles busts through the wall with his bass like the Kool-Aid guy.
@@gargamel3393 “OOOOHH YEAAAAA”
"why i'm receiving a lot of things and now i'm listening this awesome music "
Lmao nice
Unlucky neighbor actually, Charles has headphones in.
IMO there aren't too many virtuoso players that are also incredible composer/writers, but holy crap this guy is absolutely phenomenal in every aspect
At age of 55 Charles inspired me to start playing on my bass again after a 25 year break. I even bought a brand new Fender. Thank you for the inspiration Charles.
Charles doesn't look 55.
@@CoreyChambersLA very funny haha
25 year break? Nah that's called retired bro lol
well he at 31 he ispiered me to start learning bass so I completely understand man! :D
Same bro
I can't determine whether I'm inspired or discouraged.
Like all of us with any kind of art. I often felt discouraged by seeing art that is much better than my art. There will always be someone better than us (unless we're literally the best), but art is mostly about enjoying while doing it. And Charles is enjoying the hell out of that bass, it seems XD skills improve gradually, as long as we don't give up on practicing and stay determined, we won't get discouraged. And the inspiration part will help us close the gap :D
I look at my bass in discuss now
Looking at my bass...
"Maybe you should go to someone that can really play you like you deserve to be played...like Charles..."
😂
Just slap instead of tap and feel far better of yourself than you have any right to.
This sounds very like a ultimate boss fight scene in a game.

Ridiculously good. Perhaps you have the cleanest performance of all basists I´ve heard so far. Crystal clear, and yet so insanely advanced. You´re simply the best around.
I have been listening to this track for a year on end now. I need a need to binge on it every so often, it feeds my soul.. and for days after I can't have a moment of free thought that doesn't include that last tap section with the double kick drum behind it. it's phenomenal, truly, Just a passing thought,,,
When Davie listened to the original solo and said "so, that's all for today. See you in the next video" I felt that.
That? You just felt that? Don't do that, please. That's a mister Y.

"Tabs on this part on Patreon"

He has to put the tabs onto Patreon, to lower the risk of causing bass related injuries to less qualified bassists.

This is absolutely phenomenal. Brilliant! Of all his great music, this is simply out of this world. I don't know if he can better this. You're a living legend Charles. Thank you for this incredible music library of your work.
This is quite insane and trully a Master! Congrats Charles for being passionate about what you love doing!
What I like about Charles is no matter how technically advances his skills become his stuff still sounds like music. My biggest beef with some unbelievably talented bass players is that they are so good they aren't a pleasure to listen to anymore. Charles stuff is always music to my ears!
I think a lot of musicians get wrapped up in flexing and the technical aspects, they stop focusing on keeping it melodic and fun to listen to.
Well put.
I have the same issues with certain guitarists who are technical phenoms, such as Steve Vai or Yngwe Malmsteen , but how about just writing a song. They could take a lesson on songwriting from someone like Angus Young - just write a song, please, and quit showing off your mastery of math formulas. 😺
truth spoken
Steve Vai comes to mind. Dude is technically amazing but his music is terrible.
Playing this is one thing
CREATING this kind of baseline is beyond anything I would have imagined
No matter how many times I listen to this.. I just can't help but be mind blown by how epic this is.. ❤
beautiful. you keep inspiring me to get better at the bass, and I hope you continue to create because I'm sure I'm not the only one.
Davie: He mainly used tap because he knows it's not my main technique.
Charles: "slapocalypse"
... he came at Davie using Davie's primary technique ... stronze'.
One more like for 69
Person: How many notes can you play on bass?
Charles: Yes
😂😂😂
@odjebitekapitalisti Yes, all of them, most of them at the same time.
Sounds like a bad ass 90s super Nintendo boss level song.
2:30 and onwards is just divine
OMG this is why Davie started playing guitar.
😂
Reminds me of my sister playing her cello. Many cello music is played close to the edge of the fingerboard. She asked her teacher why to take so much trouble, trying to make a cello sound exactly like a violin. Why not play that music on a violin?! Get real!
sure
XD
@@voornaam3191 My brother writes orchestral music and used to play cello. I asked him about the same thing and apparently you get a darker tone from playing a cello in the higher part of its range than you do from a violin.
The dislikes are from people having a seizure while trying to click the like button.
Gold.
Seriously what kind of idiots can unlike this.
They're holding their phone upside down
There were a lot of flashing lights in the video

Mind blowing, so flash but with real feeling and tuneful. Thank you.

My dad would have loved this video. He played Bass for 60+ years and was always looking for some great players. Sadly he passed in 2014. He had many Basses and he gave some away to young musicians. We had a Christian band from South America travel around and they came to our home church. The airline lost the Bass player's Bass and dad had a new Kubicki 5 string and he just gave it to the young player. Said if you are going to play for the Lord, you should play on one of the best there is. The dude was crying. But that was just dad. He would have loved to sit and watch you guys' videos for hours. He would call me all the time if he found a great video. Thanks for all your hard work. I posted this on Davie's channel too!
Sounds like an awesome dad and a great human being. Peace be with him.

This piece of music is one of the most incredible things I have ever listened to in my life and I am pretty old. I never believed that sort of magic could flow from a bass. Well done Charles...outstanding.
This comment is really wholesome. And I agree completely, this is magic for my ears too XD I am actually looking forward to what our future generations will come up with to impress us younger folks when we're older :D
Imagine walking around thinking “I’m possibly the best bass player on the planet right now.” Charles lives that shit for real. Incredible. 🤘🏻
I am the first in the world i’m my skill. I think about it all the time.
What's he gonna play like in 30 years?
@Mailroom Clerk Davie504 and Charles are equals imho. They both are unbelievably skilled, each of them with their unique style. And just to be clear, Davie played this solo ( not the whole thing, just the piece Charles sent him as challenge answer. I bet Davie can play the whole thing.
@Mailroom Clerk He might seem like a bit of a slouch because of his entertainment focused video style, but you can't forget that he still is an insanely talented bassist
I'm sure there are plenty of session musicians who just don't do CZcams.
This still remains unbeaten ! Charles is the bass final boss
Wow, this is amazing, i listened to this while studying and boy did it help. Keep up the content
After playing bass for a decade, life happened and I stopped playing for almost 15 years. Today I bought a new bass and am starting over from scratch. Charles, I honestly feel like you're going to be the person to usher in a new era of lead bass in music. I cant wait to see what you'll be doing with your amazing skill (not talent this is obviously years of dedication) in the future and what musical ensembles you'll find yourself in. Keep on keepin' the groove alive legend
You know what's weird. It seems that youtubers are now some of the best musicians in the world, especially when discounting straight up professional classicals. When it comes to modern music... this is to me one of the greatest works of music around. And thanks to you and Davie we are truly living in a golden age of bass.
Charles graduated from the Berklee College of Music.
He's the epitome of a classically trained musician.
CZcams is an amazing platform to get visibility, however, so it makes absolute sense that highly talented individuals trying to make a living through music would embrace it.
