It's a 60° v6 as opposed to a lot of American v6 engines which are 90° v6's. American v6's are usually 90° because they're based off of a v8, but in Europe they're much more likely to make a v6 for a v6's sake and this motor did start in the European market.

@@frankkirkman5994they clearly know what theyre doing in terms of engineering but they love to shit talk the 4.0’s like crazy, despite 4.0’s being about as fast as BRZ’s and Civic Si’s and having similar potential. Theyre not bad, better options but not bad and pretty dirt cheap honestly now days. Good entry level sports cars. Not sure why they get so much hate for their price other than that the GT’s and 3.7’s are clearly better, but also clearly cost most. You can get a decent 4.0 for $4000-6000. Goodluck finding a half decent 4.6 or 3.7 for under $10k. For anybody well into their career year sure get the 4.6, 3.7, or 5.0 if you can afford it. But if you actually want a traditional mustang looking body style and a good entry level sports car for cheap that you can easily get into the upper to mid 14 seconds range with a tune, CAI, gears then yeah, the 4.0 is a great car for that. I have an 05 Explorer however you cannot access the injectors with the intake manifold that is has. I'm in the process of doing a 6266 it'll be install around where the muffler is right before the axle. You have one of these motors and it's completely stock no Port work done to the heads and stock cams might want a 52 mill turbskie. I know the 4.0 sohc & 5r55 trans inside& out. I build little 2-stroke engines for a living, and know how a blower works, but I found it interesting on my roots blower when it was tuned by a shop (the first time tuned), that thing would move/boost as soon as you got off idle. I had a different tune put in that makes me press the pedal more to get the boost, and runs pretty much like stock under that. The tune has to do with all the electronic engine management (a weak spot of mine), including opening the gate.
Do you have that kind of tune-ability range with a centrifugal super charger?

Currently sitting on a 8psi spring and I make 350hp and 400tq on the current tune. Which I’m not very happy with but no one in my area is very good at tuning the 4.0 it seems like.

I have a question for you about my car and driving. I have the 2006 V-6 Mustang with 110,000 miles on the engine, and a X-Charger roots Magnuson M90 that I have about 55,000 miles on. It is my old man muscle car (60), because I did not have one in the 70's, (dirt bikes instead. still do those too). I might take it to a drag to see what it can do once, but not my main car and I don't beat on it much. I don't know the maintenance of the blower or how long they last. I think the engine will be OK for a long time though, at least another 100,000 miles. I am making about 340hp at the crank, so you know the stress.
How much mileage can I expect from that Magnuson M90 blower?

I’m going with BBK ceramic coated long tube headers, pace setters high flow cat H pipe, and a dual borla s type stinger cat back, you’d have to change the rear valance or depends for dual.

At what power level do the blocks split on these? I wish companies would put as much time into the V6 engine development as they do the V8 so that the main components (block, heads, crank, etc.) are just as strong as the V8 engines or at the very least, not prone to cracking in half at lower power numbers.
