Really cool to see people playing around with this platform
They are getting cheap
I raced a Blue 2010 4.0 here in Pensacola he had the older xcharger roots setup, I believe he said a 3inch pulley making 8-10 lbs of boost. He didnt say WHP numbers but said 350hp. I have a 12 3.7 Manley rods and pistons, AMR ported intakes & tune, with a coyote 80mm throttle body Headers, catless h pipe. I've dynoed my 3.7 here in Florida with a best of 326whp @7100. Im running a 6r80 with a 3c convertor 355 gears. ( best 1/4 is a 12.5 @109mph) From a dig to about 80mph it was close. Once the 5r55 shifted in to 4th I would walk him. It was about as fast as a stock 3v. It sounded amazing. BTW thanks AMR for intakes, tune and advice on my 12 mustang. I will be getting my procharger set up on shortly and be contacting you guys for a tune
Let's do it
Owning a 4.0 the money we dump for little gains sucks but oh well it's fun gotta look at the journey rather then hp when it comes to the 4.slow lol good video guys glad u at least got it to 300
We will try for 350
I was able to get 328/325 out of my procharged 4.0 at 12lbs on a humid day. I’d imagine there is more in it. Running 52lb injectors, a mafia, and a BAP. I gotta say the 5r55 isn’t very happy though with the power increase. With doing the blower, 8.8 with 4.10’s, and the 3.5” driveshaft it’s a new car.
Sounds about right
Got a 4.0 and I'm happy running heavy mods on it and pushing between 335 to 350 in the rear and 410/415 in the crank and looking to get more in the future so those who talk bad about it ur wrong
No one who makes good power talks crank hp...
@@automafiaracing I talked crank and rear-end
Yeah. And 300 rwhp with boost is lame when a 2011+ V6 make that NA
From the factory the 4.0 is a mid 15 second car. It now runs mid 13s and is about as quick as a stock 3 valve 4.6. If you can get the supercharger used or you do the install yourself, it could be worth it if you like a car that is dumb ass fun to drive.
Its a fun lil car for sure
Dam why do you guys have to be so far away lol I want to make my 3.7 a beast but I want it dyno tuned by you guys no one else lol can’t wait to turn my 3.7 into a monster!
We can tune you remotely as well
welp looks like I gotta order one of your email tunes!
@@automafiaracing what is needed for a remote tune??
Forge the engine and cam it out with Super Six Motorsports parts. Then fire-ring the heads so the top of the engine stays put and throw a shitload of boost at it. It'll make a lot of power reliably then.
Send it
Something isn't right. I made a touch over 230 in my Explorer with fully ported heads, custom intake, longtubes& dual catback 3inch exhaust. No boost whatsoever but a few proprietary tricks. There's another guy from New Jersey who runs a GT500 blower on his Explorer and he's in the 12''s. I have an O2 block out of an Eddie Bauer which has the thinner piston rings. They are 1.2, 1.3& the bottom oil rings 3.0
This isnt getting much boost and is out of maf range
I have some questions about possibly having you guys do a pretty unique 4.0 build for me, if I call in is their anyone specifically I should ask to speak too? It might even be pretty interesting to the guys in the shop and something I think could be interesting to show on the channel to.

Hey, so I also have a 2010 v6 4.0 mustang and I am quite aware of the slowness of it lol. But I was wondering would it would take to engine swap it into something better. I’m running it stock for now aside from some aesthetic mods and I haven’t looked into the performance yet because I don’t see a point in spending on a bad engine. Would any of the newer engines fit in the 2010 chassis or would it only be engines from the 2010-2014 year? My car only has 9k miles as of today, so it’s basically brand new, however I do wish it was a bit faster. Should I invest further into the car or look into buying a different one?
Yes this can be done.

@Auto Mafia Racing I have a 3.7 with about 140,000 miles I had planned on doing something along the lines of a turbo what do you recommend if I’m on stock internals? Such as upgrades before adding boost?
None. Boost it and enjoy. With our procharger or turbo kit you will be good to go!
I want to boost my 4.0 Mustang, I wanted to ask if the blocks will crack with this much power, is this 2010 stocked with forged internals or is it all stock ?
Id ditch the 4.0 and grab a 3.7
I didn't know the 4.0 v-6 was around this long, (2010). I thought it ended with the next body style change, (2009?).
Yes ended in 2011. 2010 kept the same engines 3v and 4.0 but went to new body style
Have you tuned any rangers with the 4.0? I want to procharge or put a vortech blower on my 2011 ranger
a few
The only thing I hate about the 4.0 other that the timing chains is the fact I cannot find a metal/ aluminum intake for this engine. If I can't find 1 I might just make 1 for my car cause I dont like the idea of boost pressure in a plastic intake 😅
Well we push 10-20+ psi through plastic intakes every single day. So I wouldn't worry about t
Is there any solution that can be recommended for the oil blow by? Procharged my 4.0 little while back and it just blew some oil out the passenger side valve cover for the first time today.
Our VTA Mafia catch can! Link: automafiaracing.com/products/mafia-vta-catch-can
I might have missed it but what did you do about the block pressure and it's not blowing the oil at the back of the valve covers
just didnt care and sent it
Would you recommend swapping in 3.7 or 2v 4.6 out of a crown vic for the 1st gen s197?
3.7 is far better
Im not a mechanic, but I've had a few modified cars, what I would recommend is either sell the 4.0 and buy a 3.7 or a 3V car and just start with that, you'll spend so much more time, effort and money into getting a different motor into that car when you could cut your losses and start out the box with the better platform. I would possibly be intrested in buying your 4.0 car @Jarrod Thomas
I have 2006 Ford Mustang v6 4.0 what all accessories I’ll have to have to procharge mine any answer?? Anxious to kno
Send us a message and we can walk you through and sell you everything you need.
Procharger kit, and probably a gt take off 8.8
do you guys recommend getting the car to the dyno after you email the tune
No need
4.0 are fun to drive but I rather spend more on a 3.7 to get 500hp tbh lol for now I rather just do exterior mods on my 4.0 just for the looks
Truth
If ever in my life I have 6k lying around (so never) then I will boost my 4.0 😌
Our kit is $2999 ;)

How's the barra coming along?
Waiting on customers to pay
i don't know much about cars. why is the 4.0 so much slower than the 3.7 considering it's a bigger engine?
Heads mostly. Dohc instead of pushrod single cam
@@automafiaracing The 4.0 in the mustang is not a pushrod internal cam motor, it's a single overhead cam.
Because the 3.7 has better flowing dohc heads and more tech, more rpm, more compression, etc. It makes more power out the box obviously and when boost is thrown at them the gap widens because of the same reasons.
Que diferencia hay de ese motor 4.0 al de la Explorer 99 4.0 ?
Es lo mismo
Do you think it's worth it to swap the 4.0 for a 3.7 ?
Yes
At that point why not swap to a v8 or a "better" v6?? The 2JZ engine is a V6 I believe and it's probably one of the most renown engines for power lol Mostly curious of why one would switch to a 3.7 from a 4.0 when that money can be put into a larger / better built engine(?) or towards boost for the engine
2jz is an inline 6.
@mr.gadgett6091 you can find a 3.7 for 500 bucks it's an easy swap a light motor and can make 600 wheel on stock long block with boost. That's why.
This is discouraging, lol. O well, time to go coyote shopping 😎
Or 3.7
I wish they made shit for this platform but I think my 5.2 swap is going to be a bit more fun
Probably. We do have a turbo kit coming tho
How much horsepower can the 4.0 handle
not much. #junk
From what I recall back in the 4.0/3V days, a totally stock 4.0 should be able to handle mid-upper 300s, like 350-375RWHP/375-390RWTQ. The biggest weak point in any 4.0 car is definately the 7.5" rear end
What does a stock 3.7 make
225 to 260 on the dyno
Thanks for the answer
"Cuhlogna"
Colgna
lmao what the hell
