There was something poetic and beautifully emotional about seeing two legendary Assassins. About seeing the legacy that Altair left behind, and Ezio following in the footsteps. It doesn’t feel the same with Kassandra and Eivor. There’s no legacy. There’s no paved road for the successive character to walk. No legacy to follow.
What makes the Masyaf sequence at the beginning of Revelations so beautiful is we know Ezio is deep within Templar’s territory, there’s an army of Templars in the castle and the only living Assassin that have to face them all is him. Yet despite him being alone in this cold, dark and hostile ground, he was guided by Altair’s footsteps. In a way, you could say, Altair is the only one there with him when he’s so far from home, and so deep within enemy lines.
Iron by Woodkid in that trailer as well gave such a unique blend to such a unique story, I go back to rewatch it for the vibes alone. Guess it's that time again....
The newer crossovers feel like current day marvel crossovers in the hopes that the audience will like the new character if a more recognizable character says they like them without actually earning it. Ezio meeting the remains of Altair brought a lot of closure for both Ezio and the player that wondered about what happened to Altair Revelations felt like a great send off for Ezio so the player could be satisfied tying loose ends and moving on to a new chapter, Hell when Ezio refused to be curious about the apple and then speaking to Desmond felt like it was just the devs breaking the fourth wall saying “this is the end, we had a great experience, but some things are better to let end it’s time to let these two rest”
I think a big part of why Ezio meeting Altaiir is that it's was the end of both of their stories. And especially for those of us who started out playing the first one, it really did feel like coming full circle. They really did nail that feeling. Revelations also gave Altaiir an actual middle eastern accent instead of making him sound like a white dude from California. That doesn't effect the crossover, it was just nice that they took the opportunity to fix that. I could see them not doing it "for consistency" but it was a fix that needed to be made.
I always took that as part of going into Abstergos crappy animus. It make him kinda look and sound like Desmond, because Desmond was the one in the animus living Altaiirs memory’s. Lucy even mentions that the language is dumbed down for him so he can understand what’s going on
My brother played and started with AC 1 and I started with AC 2 went back and played one. All I can say is the games r amazing and forever a part of my childhood
Valhalla and Odyssey is dope two MC’s from different backgrounds But I gotta give it to Revelations, it’s so Legendary! Seeing Altair one last time gave us chills and saddens our hearts when we see him sitting on that chair in the library guarding the Piece of Eden on his own 😢❤ but glad Ezio carried on his will to continue the Creed for Generations and so forth 🤧🤘🏻❤️
All crossovers: AC Revelations (Ezio): Altair Ibn La'Ahad AC Liberations (Aveline): Connor Kenway AC Rogue (Shay): Achilles Davenport, Adewale, Haytham Kenway, Charles Dorian (Top 1 crossover in my opinion) AC Valhalla (Eivor): Kassandra Speaking of physical appearances, don't mention.
ac4 was such a great metaphor for these games, a Templar lead entertainment company dissecting what once was the heart of the series and scooping out and dulling down everything to market to the largest audience possible
Another problem with the Kassandra and Eivor fight other than it being entirely a cutscene, is that upon learning Eivor had a coincidentally super specifically similar blade to hers, Kassandra should've definitely white flagged and realized they're both allies from different times.
The reason Odyssey and Valhalla cannot mix is because the timelines are HUNDREDS of years apart if not thousands. The Greek city states fell during the time of the Roman Republic. The Vikings were around in 800 A.D through 1100 A.D
The thing is Eivor and Cassandra's crossover was more like a fun easter egg mission, kinda significative yes, but more for fans to sign at the screen like Leo DiCaprio and say "Hey look, It's Kassandra! How cool". Ezio and Altair's crossover in the other hand was the culmination and epitome of four whole games' narrative, the climax of three centuries of secrets and conspirations, the end of the story of the two main characters the series had at that moment, and a pivotal moment for Desmond and the Isu's plan. Four whole games led to that exact moment and everyone was getting ready since the next one, AC3, was supposed to be the end of everything... you wouldn't believe the hype this thing was in 2011
I really liked the Valhalla odyssey crossover bc it kinda makes sense. Kassandra being immortal and all why would she stay in Greece. It did feel like they could have done much more with it but i think for how the game itself is it’s fun and goes with the rest of the game quite well. Also the fact that eivor stood a chance against kassandra who has hundreds if not thousands of years of experience (I didn’t do the math) is pretty wild

odyssey is my fav tho i do prefer alexios
tho ill be honest, exio collection has a special place in my heart
That Revelations theme is just so damn good
What once was shall never be again. So enjoy that which you have while its still here for it will be gone in less then a blink of an eye.
Never forget what they took from us.
oh lord, I cried so much playing Revelations for the first time... this game is a true gem ❤
Crossover then its more emotional than now
Requescat in Pace
Don’t forget about Rogue/Unity. Underrated
Ubisoft dropped the ball by not giving us a Shay vs Arno game.
I still can't get over Ezio headbutting a guy in a helmet. That shit is fucking goofy even years after.
0:39 Man I thought this turned into Mortal Kombat for a second😂
Revelations. my first and favorite main line AC game which makes me trying the rest from 1 but only upto Rogue due to device limitations
what armor and hair is Eivor using dude? those look cool af
Bro knew what he was doing with the outfit 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
All crossovers:
AC Revelations (Ezio): Altair Ibn La'Ahad
AC Liberations (Aveline): Connor Kenway
AC Rogue (Shay): Achilles Davenport, Adewale, Haytham Kenway, Charles Dorian (Top 1 crossover in my opinion)
AC Valhalla (Eivor): Kassandra
Speaking of physical appearances, don't mention.
ac4 was such a great metaphor for these games, a Templar lead entertainment company dissecting what once was the heart of the series and scooping out and dulling down everything to market to the largest audience possible
One is cool in combat the other in a sentimental way
Requiescat in pace Altair 🔥🔥🔥
Another problem with the Kassandra and Eivor fight other than it being entirely a cutscene, is that upon learning Eivor had a coincidentally super specifically similar blade to hers, Kassandra should've definitely white flagged and realized they're both allies from different times.
I bet the developers at Ubisoft thought “players are gonna be so hyped when they see Kassandra and Eivor meet”
Literally nobody cared
That revelations trailer was peak
the ezio era was the best
Kenway Era was better
@@BLACKSTA361 nope edzio was the best
Agreed. The series ended with Ezio.
Everything after was a cash grab
@@devilhell69 Connor is the best MC
@@screenname6829 you're missing out. Black Flag and 3 are amazing
Dope crossover as well was Connor and Aveline’s mission🔥 They walked so eivor and Kassandra could run
For crossover now you should’ve used the final fantasy crossover in ac origins
"Maysaf was not home for The Assassins for 300 years now"
Instant Chills 🥶🗻
They both smack in different ways
Eivor and Kassandra looked badass together
That music, is that Einar Selvik or Heilung?
if i am right wasn't the rope dart first used by shao jun who came in around the 1500s where tf did eivor get the idea from
Golly, Revelations still hits different to this day.
I imagine some people were thrown off by kassadra's appearance if they played Alexio instead.
Ezio and Altair "meet up" is goated but even crossover banter between ac4 and ac3 is a better "fan service" because it still value emotion
Should've add where Ezio speaks to Desmond.
What is that outfit eivor is wearing?
Four whole games led to that exact moment and everyone was getting ready since the next one, AC3, was supposed to be the end of everything... you wouldn't believe the hype this thing was in 2011
Ezio x Altair was the 100% best, it had soul, but AC Rogue blending the gap between Black Flag and 3 was also fucking spectacular.
Man the voice acting, sound, everything was so good back then how did they fucked it up so badly when they have triple the budget that they had then.
I miss the old days
where can i get that Eivor hair?
I honestly thought this was gonna adress the Final Fantasy reference in Origins
Revelations was on another level
Where did you find that blade
I looted it off a dead body
the best crossover is when Ezio met copernicus and da vinci
Did i just see the WOODEN spear spark when it hit a STEEL AXE???
After seeing this,i feel like Ezio
"I've seen enough for one life"
Okay I think I am having a Mandela effect here because I remember Revelations’ cinematic/trailer was a live action back when I was kid.
0:52 outfit looks cool ash how u get it
Thus, the old is better than the new
I really liked the Valhalla odyssey crossover bc it kinda makes sense.
Love it or hate it,Eivor vs Kassandra was sick af
