It’s usually anywhere from half hr to an hr. They go over many strategies and good coaches will have an itinerary to follow to see where your skills lie. You can always read and watch YT videos, that’s fine, you’ll get better quicker with a professional guiding your hand with less frustration too.

This is one of the first things I noticed from the faide video, how he never loses momentum even with a blindsided attack. And Faide can’t stress enough, ALWAYS, ALWAYS! Holster your weapon.
Make sure you let them know abt the “faide slide” I use it often esp when deadsliding (bc I’m being shot up) and it helps often, even better for moving from cover to cover

The real issue I think most do not realize with the dead slide is that it happens due to hitstun when getting shot so you cannot sprint to slide speeds. (More so than mistiming inputs)

I don't think you are addressing his issue. Ofc he knows how to slide and the frame window is the easiest one to hit in any movement tech (it's even funny considering it a movement tech lol, as of how basic it is). It's the moments he engages in fights and wants to be quick and get out of them he gets dead slides. That's because he is getting shot and loses speed when hit and can't perform a quick slide and it ends up in a dead slide. That's what you should have addressed for him
For those of you confused about dead slides. Holster'd movement lets you slide instantly from a standstill (unless you just got shot and arent playing a fortified legend) Weapon drawn (its not instant, like 3 steps to slide from a standstill) Maggy, can slide instantly without delay while a shot gun is equipped because her movement isnt a flat speed buff it mimics your HOLSTERED movement. Which means there is no slide delay.
This just comes to show what happens when a good FPS and strategic player plays apex. They wont understand the unique movement mechanics of apex. I have known masters and diamond people who didnt do any crazy movement, like they didnt wall jump or bunny hop or anything. Just solid aim and good strat. Obviously once you add those mechanics to your arsenal things will go even better, but certain skills transfer from other games.
This is some common sense shit. Biggest issue why people dead slide is because you're getting shot at. Simple. When getting shot, avoid sliding until you can find some cover

Although on roller if you just jump and do a circle rotation on roller with movement joystick it takes away dead slide and you can move faster.
