I remember reading about how Gulcasa's "party" in Yggdra Union kind of a shell of his former life. Elena being raised as a Siskier-like for Gulcasa's companionship, Eudy taking over Jenon's tactics, Baldus being Baldus, etc. It's been so long I forget where I last read it but it felt like a really satisfying explanation.

Blaze is my favorite for trio too. Hope it get translated and release on pc like yggdra.
To me, of 3 Union games, Blaze definitely had the best story.
It kept my sanity while playing over and over for that *one stupid random alchemy item*
Great video as awlays, and here are the things i wanted to say about each ending in a jumbled up though mess: something that makes Velleman's betrayal feel less sudden in route A is that, if you fight him with Nessiah, the conversation heavily implies he knew of Garlot's bronga blood, so thats another reason why he may have decided to turn against him. Soltier also really lacks the presence Gulcasa had in the first game, and it's kind of sad he gets forgotten in route B, specially since Alanjame is an extremely lame villain. And for ending C, as you said its basically the golden ending of the game, but it feels extremely rushed and i feel that Velleman's reaction in the end feels a bit out of character.
I don't believe I called it the Golden Ending since I only call that something if it's the true ending of the game, and I don't even consider Ending C that. Ending C to me is just the "good" ending of the game, in the sense that it's the happiest. I think it's the worst from a narrative perspective since it kinda passes over many of the main story elements in favor of having a happy ending.

I've seen an interesting theory about Alanjame here(Korean community) -
which states *"He might be a pawn from one of the Seven Magi(probably Hector) to have an eye over Nessiah"*
based on his card(Judgment Zero) being a copy(stated in a dialogue if you actually *lose* a duel to Alanjame with Nessiah) and himself speaking "He acquired from his _god_ with a specific prophecy"

Yggdra Unison really is more of a spin-off-ish story with more focus on small personal details, if you do pay attention, and doesn't have anything interesting other than what-ifs. Gloria's way more light-hearted and is all about the adventure rather than the characters. There are character moments, and the plot is eventually moved by them, but it feels more of "let's have an adventure" kind of story. It's enjoyable for what it is, but there's no depth unlike the rest of the series (It does have more than Riviera, though).
Ending A all the way. Gotta love invading the Bronquia's capital once more from Gulcasa's side

If the gameplay in Yggdra Unison was cool I might have checked it out, but after having played an hour of it, I was left pretty unexcited. Feels like I'd find more enjoyment just reading the scenes online.
@@Zyraizo Unison has a LOT of secret dialogue and foreshadowing details referencing other games(such as Gulcasa being a righteous ruler without prejudice over his people) but the gameplay is messed up and it's nearly impossible to see all those hidden text since most of them require *VERY SPECIFIC CONDITIONS* like scoring specific amount of valor with a character(it even branches from "recruited character" and "starting character/default ruler") or running into duel with certain character head-on
The fact that Gulcasa is willing to stand against Nessiah from executing his friends would mean that if Luciana won against Yggdra, Gulcasa would not hesitate to fight Nessiah. Anyways don't mind my headcanon.
In Blaze Union Gulcasa is somewhat sane, in Yggdra union the Cursed Blood corrupted his mind (just like Soltier) so Nessiah arguably would have an easier time manipulating him.
From what I have understood Gulcasa was consumed by power and evil while Yggdra brought united and peace to the world. Got it.
I am really sad how people think Yggdra becomes a psycho killer empress when her entire arc is learning that power can corrupt and the dangers of self justification. Just Because you can do an extremely tedious battle that takes forever to complete and goes against what Yggdra learns in her story.
@@mauricesteel4995 God I’m so glad someone else feels the same way I do about how poorly the fandom treats Yggdra. Seriously it’s gross how so much of the fandom will condemn Yggdra for her admittedly heavy mistakes and a non-canon ending where she acts completely out of character, but will bend over backwards to ignore and/or justify all of Gulcasa’s crimes. Especially when the whole point is that neither side is 100% just. And I say this as someone who likes both of them a lot.
Tbh the only explanation I can think of is that the fandom is just extremely misogynistic…
@@sawk1875To be fair, Garlot has always been an honorable knight, even when he was a part of the Blaze Outlaws. Most of the crimes commited against the world (against the Branthese and Esmeralda houses and the Undine Empire) were plotted by Nessiah.
When i play yggdra unnion i was feel something is very wrong. I dont like yggdra ( but milanor is great ) but feel something very sad for gulcasa's team.
Then i play balze and holy SH@T...know how they end up make me sad for a long time.

The "heavy-duty propaganda" mentioned in Yggdra's BF40 is not mere propaganda if you consider what Bronquia's people went through their former emperors(Soltier and Ike, who apparently was took down from throne by Soltier) being terrible on ruling over people..
To make Nessiah's final boss appearance in Route C even worse, they made him behave the same way as he did in Yggdra Union, quickly having his plans revealed and lasting for 2 or 3 more fights. It's kind of a letdown to see the main manipullative villain of the Union series to be such a poorly written character in those occasions, which is kind of one of the reasons I'm not a fan of route C. A and B routes are awesome, though, they really make want to forget about the game's story so I could see it for the first time once again.
IMO Zenon's sacrifice seemed unnecessary too. What I felt was pretty similar to Yggdra's BF42
