Bluntly: Can aid to #Ukraine in itself pose a threat to #Taiwan? Why do so many Republicans not want to keep aid flowing to a country that is confronting and bleeding one of the greatest threats to the United States and global stability, Vladimir Putin's #Russia? In this video we tell you.

That would destroy the Western financial institutions. That's the main reason the EU and US haven't touched that money. The moment the West does that, it would signify to most nations, rightly or wrongly, that if you run afoul of one particular group of nations, they will take your investments away from you. That would alienate the majority of the global community that doesn't abide by Western standards (remember, most nations are still friendly to Russia), and take away the one chip the Western world still holds over an increasingly developed and politically independent Global South (hate the term, but it represents most of the non-aligned powers in the world). China and Russia are actively developing a financial system as a rival to the Western one, and all they need is for other nations to feel like their money isn't safe to swoop in as the alternative. Again, that's why the West isn't touching the Russian money they have in their banks. It's a self-defeating move.

Under Trump, Republicans have become more sympathetic to Putin, who Trump openly admires, as well as other authoritarian strongmen. In the U.S. Senate, Mitch McConnell is one of the few leading Republicans who continues to openly support Ukraine. I would too if that was an option. Sadly they have to choose between being in Russia's pocket or the west. Surely being in the EU is much better than the Russian federation in almost every way, but its neither independence nor freedom, particularly considering the staggering debt they will be in to the west should they win the war. And I'm not talking about moral debt here. Those aid packages we keep "giving" them are not a free buffet, most of those are actually loans. Not to mention the fact that Ukrainians will have to radically change their attitude towards the LQGTB movement, middle eastern immigration, and the male/female role in society. I don't exactly see the common Ukrainian cheering at the Pride parade, and i don't see the west accepting anything but a total cultural conversation giving how they "saved" Ukraine from Russia.

This is nonsense, you watch a podcast with a military man and he says in modern warfare you cannot learn military skills, drones are hunting for you, artillery is leveling everything to the ground, and you just pray that you are not hit by shrapnel, when you go on an assault you will not accurately look for the target, you just know that there is an enemy sitting in that landing, you fire a burst there in the hope that you will hit him first, and the most important skill is to fall face first into the ground.

The difference in theaters is key. The Ukraine conflict is a land war (read US Army/Air Force) while a potential Taiwan conflict would be a Navy/Air Force/Marine-focused theater. The US has the *ability* to handle two simultaneous wars, but do we have the appetite and political will? The second question is also key here, and I honestly think neither candidate can inspire change here. My country's politics are in a state of upheaval that happens every five decades or so and indecisiveness coupled with weak foreign policy is the result. At the end of the day, simple geographic isolation from most wars overseas makes the Americas (both North and South) focus inward, even if it doesn't always make geopolitical or economic sense.
TL;DR - The US will muck about until the very last minute to take any serious action, just like World War II.

If China takes their chip foundries, they instantly get billions of dollars worth of military R&D that took years to develop. On top of suddenly advancing their military tech, they immediately deny the west the ability to replenish their stockpiles of smart weapons and high-tech replacement parts. Those chips won't just effect the military but every civilian use of advanced chips. You can say goodbye to new phones, cars, computers, appliances, etc for years. Every industrialized country not strongly tied to Washington would have to come under Chinese hegemony to avoid their industries being crippled.

It was necessary to depend on donors in the beginning of the war but it has become increasingly clear that Ukraine will need to urgently develop its own native supply, firstly compatible munitions for the donated platforms they now have, and then develop other systems to deal with the gaps, as a way to wrest some control over its military capability and resources.
As their success in drone technology shows, Ukraine has been doing this, and I believe they will start supplying themselves with compatible munitions to end their dependence on external generosity, and to provide themselves with the means to win.

All of this is possible because the US influence be it militarily, culturally or economically is worldwide. When Russia China or others destroy and conquer US allies like EU or Taiwan all the above mentioned influence starts decreasing along with the prosperity that comes with it. Prosperity for the West and the developed world has been possible because of NATO and US power. Take that away and we will be going back in time in terms of quality of life.
Actions have consequences as the above video mentioned if Taiwan falls to China, the technology sector will be disrupted and immensely hurt worldwide. Imagine all the high tech for the next 20 years coming from the CCP. If Russia takes Ukraine they will start going after other EU countries ( NATO is hugely reliant on US power ) . The fiercest defendants of Taiwanese independence are often the most detached from reality on the ground. President Tsai herself chose to place a big bet on a submarine program of dubious quality. The fact that her successor committed to continuing that program without at least a reassessment doesn’t augur well.
