    Hello from England
ELVIS died 2 days before my 12th birthday 1977. I have been a FAN ever since
Watching lots of videos about Elvis and his "backstory" they make me think so much more about the years that have passed by, even the start of the live shows back in 1969/70 - 50 + years.
There are just a few videos of Elvis singing that i find so hard to watch and this is one of them. Out come the KLEENEX and i am crying buckets even typing this comment, another is UNCHAINED MELODY. I know i cry BUT you have to think that ELVIS NEVER QUIT and DUG SO DEEP. All he wanted was to MAKE his FANS feel HAPPY and he achieved this in his short life.
GOSPEL was his favourite GENRE as we all know. HE COULD HAVE RELEASED AN ALBUM OF NURSERY RHYMES and i would have loved them ALL.
ELVIS GAVE OF HIMSELF BODY AND SOUL to the end and it was RIGHT TO THE END
Just a little bit of information for you
COLONEL TOM PARKER was born 26th JUNE in Holland
    VERNON PRESLEY DIED 26th JUNE
ELVIS PERFORMED HIS LAST SHOW IN INDIANAPOLIS 26th JUNE
    How strange !!!!
I recommend you react to POLK SALAD ANNIE if you have not already OH MY and the Microphone thing

Elvis Presley was raised on gospel music. In fact, he prefers singing gospel than any other form of music period after his pop concerts his backup singers used to run and hide. Because Elvis wanted to sing gospel music throughout the night! FYI oh, there's plenty Elvis Presley Gospel albums on CZcams

It's a fact that Elvis' first love was gospel. He used rock n roll to get his parents and himself out of poverty.
    That was the catalyst.
His passion here is so intense that he changes the lyric from ...how great thou art .....to...how great I think you are oh Lord..
    Beautiful reaction God Bless you.

It's true Elvis didn't sing this at his 'very' last concert (Elvis father Vernon meant his last 'tour' when he said 'last concert' to the cameras) but he did sing it 5 times more after this, including at his 2nd to last concert (the night before his very last) at Cincinatti on June 25th 1977)😀

Heart breaking this is the way i remember Elvis the last time i saw him he was so ill i couldn't stop crying. loved your reaction very much Elvis was the best friend i ever had in my entire life. we met when i was 17 yrs old. I won a radio show contest and the prize was a day with Elvis but our friendship lasted past that one day in time. All the memories of my friend are tucked safe in my heart forever. seeing him dancing and singing breaks my heart because i know he is not here anymore my mind understands but my heart never will, i saw him a few weeks before he passed we had a short conversation, which i will never share again because people are so nasty and comment hurtful heart breaking things they do not know me but they still can't keep their mouths closed about things they know nothing about. I walk past Graceland everyday without fail. Love from Memphis Tn..

New subscriber here. I think this one hit you like it hits all of us. Elvis's voice and passion are unreal. Gospel was his favorite type of music. He often gathered his back-up singers and some of his band members after doing one or two shows a night to sing gospel songs until dawn. He always said singing gospel put his mind at ease. And he always performed one or two gospel songs at each of his concerts.

For me it is very difficult to watch this because it is off his last concert. In 1977 I was 12 years old and already Elvis fan since I was 5 years old. I have seen him 6 times in concert and had also a personal meeting with him on my 10th birthday in 1975, I said to him "mister the king" and he replied "young man I'm not the king only Jesus is King". I wanted also to go to this concert, but my mom didn't let me go because I had a school exam. And almost 8 weeks later he died. I was shocked and devastated and furious on my mom, i didn't speak to her for weeks. It felft to me I couldn't say goodbye to him because of my mom. I went to his funeral August 18 and believe me it was for me a very very very difficult day then, I saw many fans fainting and what I never forget is that when the funeral car passed the police officers gave the military salute.

Here are a few suggestions if you would like to hear more Elvis gospel songs. The first two are short and both could be done in one reaction: (1) Elvis Presley "Peace In The Valley" on The Ed Sullivan Show (1:37); (2) I Believe by Elvis Presley with lyrics (2:06); (3) Elvis Presley - "Swing Down, Sweet Chariot" (1968/69) [HD] (3:03); (4) Lead me, Guide Me - Elvis Presley (2:41); (5) You'll Never Walk Alone - Elvis Presley (3:43). I'd also like to request Elvis Presley - Trying To Get To You ('68 Comeback Special) (2:58). In the last request Elvis is dressed in black leather....a must-see!

A few other artists: Lee Ann Rimes singing Blue( she has a powerful voice) and Queensryche singing Silent Lucidity. , Disturbed singing Sound of Silence. The cool thing about Disturbed is that are a hard core rock band but this song is a ballad. The lead singer sang in his church growing up. Jewish I think I’m trying to send artists with powerful voices and beautiful songs

Many people thought Elvis just gained weight. In actuality, Elvis' body was starting to shut down that's why he looked so swollen. Unfortunately, all those around him, family, that despicable Col. Parker, so called Friends and unethical doctors like Dr. Nick did nothing. Elvis was stubborn, but anyone with half a brain could see how sick he was and should have been hospitalized even if it meant forcing him. That's the saddest part of it all because they were too concerned they may anger him, and their gravy train lifestyle would end. However, even to the bitter end, Elvis gave his all to his fans. There will NEVER be another like him. To all those leaches who benefited from Elvis' fame and generosity, Shame On All Of You.

Well said. But as you stated "Elvis was stubborn". So, how can you help a man when the man doesn't want to help himself?

@ddlee202257 Elvis had been hospitalized a few times close to his death the fact that he, at that time, had so many health issues, the doctors & his personal doctor, Dr. Nick (who was a disgrace to his profession) should have addressed these health problems. However, like the people around him, they didn't do their jobs as medical professionals.

Beautiful song and a beautiful spirit in Elvis!! He would stop in the middle of his rock concerts and sing a gospel song!! Only Elvis would do this!! Singing with the angels now!!
