For those saying he’s faking his voice, he’s NOT. He was voice trained for like 2+ years and he studied Elvis as well. He can’t just drop the accent immediately after filming lol. It’s gonna take some time for his real voice to come back
I don't think Austin Butler is faking his voice at all. His voice was very similar to Elvis and that's why Baz Luhrmann chose him. People are saying Austin doesn't sound the same from his early career. Of course, not he's getting older. Hello!! 🙄 Young Marlon Brando did not sound the same as old Marlon Brando. Compare Elvis and Priscilla Presley's voices from videos on CZcams when they were younger and how their voices sounded at the end. So different. At this point skeptics are splitting hairs trying to discredit this young actor. He's amazing.
They finished filming this movie over a year ago. He’s had plenty of time. We don’t see other people run into this for other roles on talk shows 🤔 I think he’s being young & leanin into it

It’s similar to Alec Baldwin when he did his Trump impression….idk how long it took for him to learn Trump’s voice and practice it….but he got it pretty good, and when he finished playing Trump, apparently it was hard for him to get out of Trump’s voice and do his own voice.

I agree! I'm from 2002 and I did know about Elvis Presley but it wasn't until I watched this film that I learnt his story and I wanted to know more about him and his music.
I love his music, he really knew how to sing and how to move as well! Jailhouse rock moves are really cool and by the way, he was handsome 😍 one of the most good looking guys I have ever seen.
I wish he had a longer life for enjoying a lot more of his music but it's already cool that thanks to online platforms we can still enjoy his legacy.
And, the Oscars snubbed the movie.

I remember watching Bohemian Rhapsody and thinking how perfect Rami was for playing Freddie. He was absolutely spot on with everything.. But this guy. Jesus Christ he was like Elvis reincarnated. He had every single thing perfected! The look, the voice, the facial expressions, the moves especially! It's insane. I hope he gets a lot of awards for this, he absolutely deserves it.

I haven't seen the movie but I got goosebumps watching that clip in the end. I'm 73 now. I was born in 1950 and Elvis was my idol throughout my young life, right through to now. Great job, Austin!
I grew up listening to Elvis with both of my parents and watching his films as well and my disabled Aunt was a superfan of Elvis so I myself know when a portrayal of Elvis is either great or a flop and this is no way a flop! You will not be disappointed when you get to see this movie!! Get your tissues out though because I cried like a baby!!
He was robbed of an Oscar. Guy did a helluva job acting, singing and recreating performances. How did he not get it?
Because there was an actor called Brendan Fraser who gave the world a performance of equal or possibly even better skill & heart.
No shame in not being given the honour when someone produces work of those levels.

it’s crazy how Austin’s voice slowly changed while filming and now he sounds so similar to Elvis. it’s also insane how he sang AND played guitar AND danced just like Elvis. for all the people saying he looked nothing like Elvis- it doesn’t matter at all that he looks slightly different because he absolutely crushed all Elvis’ mannerisms. this man deserves an Oscar, i fell in love with that movie and HIM

A lot of people say that he's "faking his voice" or "trying to sound like Elvis" but what y'all have to understand is that he put his everything into this role for about 3 almost 4 years and literally studied Elvis from top to bottom. For example, it's like when you're around a person so much that you start to pick up on their mannerisms, the way they speak, their slang, etc. It's hard to just drop the "accent" when the cameras cut off because he spoke/acted like this for years and it started to become his lifestyle.

i love how he talks about his mom every time the opportunity comes. she must have been so special to him. he went through a hard time when she passed, even took a break on acting. he talks about her with so much love and in a childish way that definitely makes him come back to the memories he had with her. he's so humble, so polite and so down to earth. he's adorable, i love him.
You can tell how intensely he studied his character for years because his mannerisms and his vocals are still sticking to him. Even his speech.

The role was such a huge task, and it might have gone either way. As it was, he approached it with respect and humbleness and hard work. Austin is fully deserving of all the awards and praise he receives.
He did a great job. when you first see him, you're going mmm he's looks a bit different from Elvis... but then he is so on point with the voice, the mannerisms and movements... you start to simply accept him as Elvis on the screen.
Decades later Elvis is still making us go crazy with that wiggle 😍 Austin nailed it!

I remember Vanessa Hudgens saying in an interview two years ago that this role would be Austin's, and that he was born to play Elvis and that would change his life. Yeah I had no idea who this young man was till I saw the Elvis movie, and he is SO amazing in it, and then I got curious about him and looked him up, and saw about Vanessa Hudgens and that is too bad they broke up, cause I saw that he is now, it seems, with that stick Kaia Gerber and yuck, that girl looks like an anorexic 10 year old, plus it's sad/wrong when people are famous only because of their parents....her mother is cindy crawford, she's just riding her mom's coat-tails, that is the only reason she's famous, cause she's really not pretty and would never be a model if not for mom.
Yeah, she was really excited, but also kind of jealous, after all she was the famous one when they first started dating. She was hoping to join him at the events related to the movie to promote herself and also get into serious acting. I was never an Elvis fan or even knew much about him, but after watching this movie I have a deep respect for this man and for Austin Butler for a phenomenal performance. You can tell Austin was immensely immersed in this film and his acting is definitely Oscar worthy (he better win something). 'he waited' until Priscilla was 17 to move her in and have penetrative sex with her, they did other sexual stuff which Priscilla admitted in her memoir before that, suggesting the only reason he waited was to stay on the right side of the law. he was interested in Priscilla because he wanted to 'mould her into the perfect wife' and after she got pregnant he was no longer interested in her. when she was 7 months pregnant he left her then got back together with her while womanising on the side. when she cheated on him and he found out, Priscilla said in the book that he raped her 'to show her what a real man was.' this all comes from a woman that is still dedicated to him to this very day, so I'm inclined to believe her. stop making excuses for this man.

This is probably the most organic interview that Jimmy's ever done. I'm sure there are some other more, but this one is simply very natural. No fake laughs, no overreactions, no nothing. I love how they gushes about each other. You can tell that they respect one another so much and Austin is just so sweet and so present. The way he tells his stories is just so captivating 😍🤍 This makes me really wanna see the movie a.s.a.p.

I just watched 'Elvis' today for the first time, and I was blown away. I grew up on Elvis. I was born in 1963, and one of the first songs I can remember dancing to was 'Hey Little Girl' from 'Harum Scarum', and my favorite record was his album 'Elvis' Golden Records'. My dad looked so much like Elvis that my mom told me when I looked at Elvis' pictures I would say "Da Da". I was twelve when Elvis died, and I will always remember exactly where I was and what I was doing that day. This was the most entertaining, heartbreaking, wonderful movie I've seen in a very long time. God bless you, Elvis. I love you!

As a lifelong Elvis fan, tribute artist for 5 years and something of a lay historian of EP, I applaud Mr. Butler's performance. It is truly Oscar worthy.
I think the Spirit of the Man Austin portrayed will be with him from now on. This was a Command Performance that clearly shows that He was with him throughout the whole process, start to finish, and I think, beyond.
As a historian, do you believe it to be possible that Elvis fathered other children? Possibly unknowingly? Given what the Memphis Mafia has said about his promiscuity, I have always thought it to be possible. Although, no one who's ever been publicly photographed has ever bared as much resemblance to him as Lisa Marie.

Austin deserves an Oscar...he did an amazing job. It wasn't just another Elvis impersonation...it was capturing the embodiment of the man. And his voice...lol... the vocal coach says he'll probably never get his original voice back after the grueling training. That's crazy. Austin did that.

A nomination would be best for his career, but not a win this early. Winning too soon would possibly be a detriment. He deserves the nomination, but there are more deserving actors who have been at this a lot longer who should probably get before he does. Brendan Fraser was incredible in “The Whale”, but Austin’s overall performance, acting and singing surpassed all the others, and he was robbed of the Oscar by the Academy.

I love how serious he took this role. He really did his research and has brought so much honor and respect to Elvis and his family. I was in awe while watching the movie, and am still in awe when I watch Austin. He portrayed Elvis perfectly, I don’t think they could’ve picked someone better. I have been an Elvis fan since I was young, and it made me so happy to see someone portray him correctly and respectfully. Austin made this his life for 2 years, and I’m so grateful to see that come to screen. He knew how serious this role was. He did not disappoint. And I know fellow Elvis fans can agree, along with the Presley family.

When I heard they were making this movie, I was nervous. I really hoped that the script would do Elvis justice, but also I knew whoever they got to play him had SUCH a role to fill. I agree that Austin really took it upon himself to make sure he did it RIGHT. And he nailed it.
No one can step in those shoes and play Elvis as good as Austin Butler does! He's amazing and I just get lost in his portrayal of The King! Sometimes I have to take a double take, his execution is spot on! ELVIS would be so proud
I'm glad the stars aligned and this is the young man that got to play Elvis. He really studied Elvis and wanted to honor him in his performance. He seems so humble and kind and I pray that Hollywood is kind to him. ❤️👑
Priscilla Presley and Lisa Marie watched the movie and loved it. Said it’s the only movie and actor that portrayed him how he was, that Austin had the LOOK, the feel and was fantastic. Having the seal of approval from the woman who knew Elvis the best kind of puts a bunch of internet arguments on silence.

I saw Elvis in 72' in Vegas when I lived there. I was 20 and sat in the front row. Did I tell and scream with all the other ladies? You bet I did. I loved his music since I can remember. His voice is beautiful and I cried my heart out when I heard of his death in 77' when I was in Guam. Memories I'll not forget! You go Austin!! ❤️🩹

The first time I watched Bohemian Rhapsody, I was so impressed by Rami Malek's performance that I started to do research about Freddie Mercury and I remember vividly how Rami had a lot of his mannerisms while conducting interviews even months after the movie was released. I do think that in acting when an actor truly immersed themselves into a role and "study" someone else, they tend to mimic a lot of that person's speech, walk, and so on. I don't personally think he is faking it by talking like this, I think it has become natural to him. I can't wait to watch this movie!

I have to admit I'm a pretty tough judge when it comes to Elvis impersonators. And I don't give compliments freely when it comes to Elvis.
But I'm absolutely in love with this young man. And to hear this interview with Jimmy I was so heart warmed. He did Elvis proud. He made it his passion to learn to feel Elvis. I cried thru the
whole movie. Yes I was sad, I will miss Elvis until the day I die. I've loved Elvis my whole life. I cried because it was like I was watching Elvis. I got goose bumps and felt giddy. I saw Elvis in Omaha NE in 1972. I was 12 years old and I promised myself someday I would be one of those beautiful women in the front row getting a kiss and a scarf. And he was gonna fall in love with me and marry me. Elvis passed I was 16 years old. So I never got to o grow up to see that dream thru. And it traumatized me for years afterward. I've been to Graceland twice. In my early 20's. And I felt Elvis's spirit in the home he so loved. I placed a long stemmed white rose on Elvis's grave. And I cried harder than most people have ever seen. It's on my bucket list to go back to Graceland. Mr. Butler made Elvis's feelings and excitement surge thru me. I'm so impressed it was easy to see that his acting came from his love of music and his respect and admiration for Elvis. This sounds stupid but I felt Elvis thru him. I want to see the movie again. In case I missed something. I will also be buying the movie and SOUNDTRACK when it becomes available. I'm quite sure we're seeing a star be born. God Bless him. He's got a huge fan in myself. I revert back to what I've always said "ELVIS WAS MY FIRST LOVE AND ELVIS WILL BE MY LAST LOVE." And this movie and Austin Butler is deserving of the highest accolades in Hollywood. I’ve noticed that jimmy clearly did admire Elvis, you can see here he just looks at Austin in awe and I watched the interview about elvis with Jacob elordi and as soon as he brings up the topic he instantly becomes so interested and mesmerised and it’s nice to see cause sometimes jimmy seems to be trying to be extra on purpose but here it looks so real and genuine and it’s so nice to see ❤

Well Taron Egerton who portrayed Elton John in his film, Rocketman, 2019, did ALL his own singing in the film, looked exactly like and sounded like Elton, you'd think it was Elton, but he wasn't even nominated for an Oscar, disgusting. So there you see it's a popularity thing and how much money the producers spend promoting the actor and film, for the Oscars are a popularity and political Hollywood contest, they're a joke. Rami, who was good as Freddie but did NOT sing in the film at all; it was singer Marc Martel's voice who is amazing, with real Freddie dubbed in some. But Rami still won the Oscar, while Taron wasn't even nominated, Hollywood politics.

I am a HUGE Elvis fan absolutely loved everything he did. I was very skeptical about Austin and Hollywood doing another Elvis movie. And I was proved so wrong, amazing film and cast. Austin did a fantastic job.
He was just more than amazing. He did an awesome job portraying Evis. He should win the Oscar. I love his own style and take. He was perfect for the movie Elvis. ❤
This guy is a game changer as far as actors. Brilliant, genuine and humble. Appears to be a gentleman as well. Always love Jimmy's enthusiasm when he's really into a guest. You can always tell when he's over the top excited by his facial expressions, eye contact, and smile.

Austin Bulter is just AMAZING!!! He melted my total being. His voice, his dance moves, the way he performed in singing Elvis's songs was to be a piece of tender memories. I absoulety made my heart feel so delighted with complete magical wonder. I taped the the TV shows he performed in as Elvis, and I will continue to support any other movie he is performs in in any role. Wish I could see him in person. performance

I know a lot of people talk about Austin’s voice being fake or still “pretending” to be Elvis. I think that means that what we will witness is one of the greatest Biopics ever. The level of dedication, preparation, and skill he and the whole “Elvis” team has poured into this film. You can tell just by this conversation how proud and respectful Austin is to the legacy of Elvis Presley.

I saw Elvis last night at an open-air screening in London. I started out thinking "He doesn't really look like Elvis". Half an hour in and I forgot he wasn't Elvis. Brilliant performance. The audience applauded at the end - a rarity here in England.
He's not the best looking one I've seen impersonators that look more like him never really got into him as elvis

He was great! He immersed himself for 3 years in this role and in another country. I find it petty when all some people can do is criticize. Jealousy perhaps. People were jealous of Elvis's charisma and talent too.
Jimmy looked like he was Star struck as if Austin was actually Elvis. He never interrupted at all. He let him talk because he wanted to hear everything Austin had to say about Elvis, Graceland, and Pricilla.

Austin brought Elvis to life! I felt like I was finally watching Elvis live in concert! Such a great job and a great movie about the greatest entertainer the world has ever seen!
My son was an extra on the movie, and he said that Baz is such a perfectionist, everything had to be spot on all the way, right down to the last button on their clothes of that time. I saw the movie yesterday, and I am in awe of how Austin has encapsulated Elvis's persona, right down to the cheeky half smile when he's looking at a girl from the stage. The movie is fantastic, I'm not a huge Elvis fan, but this may just have changed my mind. I'm going to see it again next weekend, I just can't get enough!!
