I have a fold and I was worried about the line in the middle of the screen. But depending on the angle and light you don't notice it, and even when you notice the line, it doesn't bother as you think it would. It's just amazing.
Totally agree! It's not an issue for me. I'm sure the flip 5 will have an even less noticeable crease
I have that same issue and it literally now has all came off the whole screen starting at the middle and then slowly continue to expand and turn black and now it’s all black
A Samsung attendant told me that if the person goes to the store before 1 year, they still fix it.

I bought a Flip 4 and started using it yesterday. So far I really, really like it! You're probably too young to remember pre-smartphone flip phones, but I really miss the convenience of having one of those. While this phone is understandably much larger and heavier than those phones, the ability to fold it up and put it in my purse, sling or back pocket is wonderful. However, as you pointed out the phone is very smooth to the touch, which made me very nervous, so I immediately ordered and installed Samsung's clear plastic case with a ring holder. I don't know how well it or the phone would hold up if I drop it because the case is hard plastic but for the time being it's providing some peace of mind.

I just pre-ordered a flip 5 because it was at a major discount that made it cheaper than a lot of other phones, but I'm definitely really worried about it's lifetime, since I always expect my phones to live up to 3 years. I'm still VERY worried about that lmao, I'm a big phone dropper.. but I'm hopeful the new gen can last about 2 years-ish!!
Nice! I think if you can take care of it and get a good case for it, your flip 5 should last at least 2 years
You should get a case with a ring or strap to grip more securely. Also idk bout you but I plan on upgrading every year as long as Samsung does such crazy trade in deals. I only spent $50 to upgrade to the 5 after trading in the 4

Update: Now there are dead pixels near the fold creating a black spot. I'm trading it in for the new S24+.
I've had the phone for a year and it's very good. Recently I've noticed the crease in the screen has small micro scratches or creases? Not sure how to describe it. The crease is not smooth like when new. I am not a heavy phone user so my opening/closing is minimal, especially with the small outer screen. My only complaint so far is that.

Have the z flip 4 bespoke edition and personally love this phone. Fits in my everyday use and runs on oneui which i am very familiar with. But been pretty good with it taking care of it. Took a 2 year insurance plan on it but. Love this phone. And got it in colors i wanted ^-^

Great video! a long-term flip phone review & user experience really shows how the phone ages/grows on you/or not. in my .5 cents opinion - I feel like the modern flip smartphone has the opportunity to fill the “essentialist” population - yk people who care about their use of technology and staying in touch w the real world as well/minimalists/ etc - that crowd - I really am a fan of flip phones - i really liked them back in the day, and i like that they are making a kind of comeback in a modern way - sometimes i do wish that my big & tall smartphone could just be smaller - but then there were the iphone minis and the small feature phones w some internet stuff going on - and i personally, couldn’t use them for long - definitely because the form factor may make sense, but my eyes couldn’t make the compromise. so i had to shift back to something 6” and i don’t hate it - i have learned what’s right for me - and that is why i think flip phones might fit the box i’m in. having said that though, i ain’t gonna go and pay that hefty price - they are expensive, still v much a fashion accessory to serve the aesthetic than as a tool for daily use, the hardware still feels prototype like, the buttons need to all come down to accessible levels, the phone needs to unfold to a less than 6” inch display and be a little more wide (not like a mini-tablet) - the polish is still missing - like the flip phones out now are useable, but they currently aren’t a “solution” to any problem but i believe they can become intentional-usage devices if that makes sense.
thank you! You make some really great points. I can see how flip phones are basically phone for people who aren't always on their phone (although the opposite is true for me). I think the Flip 5 and Razr+ (review coming soon) might be more "polished" as you say. But offering different sized flip phones would be nice as well for the "real" essentialists. I'm not sure if these flip phones were ever made to be a solution to anything. I think they wanted to bank on nostalgia and it seems to be working.

Hi, so my flip 4 display has stopped working after a year, and just a week after the warranty got over. I am currently using it as a non-flip phone. Do u have any idea how long I could continue using it like this (I cannot close flip as the display does not come on and the phone has to be restarted). The cost of replacing the part is very expensive and I may be better buying another phone instead. (I had got the bespoke edition)
It would be soooo much better if the spring popped it open and snapped it shut like the original flip phones. It either takes two hands or a thumb war to open it. It needs the spring assist. It misses the biggest draw of the flip - opening and closing one handed with the satisfying snap. To replicate that it takes a whole snap of the wrist now which is more fanfare than i need when checking my phone.
I believe they did that so you can still use it when it's half open, like for using the camera without a tripod

When Google and Oneplus come out with their flip and folding phones, I think the next few years will be an actually exciting period of time for smartphones again - or tablets that fold in half and take phone calls, whatever we call them in the future.

(Refurbished) Cause it was affordable and i want to see it it's as bad as everyone says but you make me feel a bit more secure in my decision. Can I buy samsung z flip 4 bro
For a long time I prefer XCover line, starting with XCover 2. Now I have XCover 5 for 2 years already. And the camera failed. Z Flip could be a great alternative to XCover 7 that is the most recent for now. Although I am a bit worried about it's safety as I used to have unbreakable phone :) Since early 2000th I liked flipped phones but never had one.

The screen of flip 4 is working perfectly without being broken after 1 year? How long can it work without showing bubbles or it being broken automatically?
Yup. No issues with the screen or hinge. I'm surprised as well.
It's only been out for a year so only time will tell what it's reliability will be like down the road.
I want to ask.. i saw one guy with flip 4 and the middle screen just kind of pop out and its like the glue got weak..

It won't shatter into a million pieces if that's what you're asking. The back is glass so it may crack, but the hinge and inner screen will be safe no matter what. Ideally you'd have a case though. I always have a case on my phones, I just don't show it in the videos.
I say wait for the flip 5 if you can. That big screen is gonna be really dope, and the durability will be even better than the flip 4.

People are saying that after a while the scratch guard or temper will come off by creating a lot of bubbles which may lead to display issue and the screen goes unresponsive after some months of buying. Plesse make me come out of this.
I haven't seen anything about that. Especially in this comments section. Those may be defective units which is why that could happen? Idk. I haven't experienced anything like that

Nice! I'd say it depends on what you use your iPad for. If it's something that can only be done on an iPad (FaceTime, procreate, etc) then I'd say stick with the ipad

@@LUMAFR Honestly I love it. The battery could be better but I have yet run into a issue where it has actually died on me in use. Its pretty much an all day phone with my use. It performs just like any other high end galaxy I had. Highly recommend if someone wants a good phone for good price

I do not, but anything that has a softer compound to allow for softer impact if it does fall
LOVE the Flip 4 phones, but like Daniel said....DON'T DROP IT!!!!! You will have issues with the hinge in the corner breaking, the top or bottom half of the screen will become unresponsive, then the entire screen will eventually go black. I had so many problems after I dropped my Flip 4 and had to get it replaced. Also, make sure you have insurance on the phone.

I'm planning to buy flip 5 now and finally upgrade from my iphone 6 lol. But only concern I have is battery life. I wonder how long does your phone last once charged? And has its battery life worsened over time?
I mention in the video battery life is pretty average. You'll get a day out of it but definitely not 2 days

Hey👋 I want to buy this phone but the person who will sel it said that it has a bad battery life and it will give me headaches. I don't use my phone that much 3 4 hours a day and I'm gonna go to college this year I hope but I have a tablet to use . What do you recommend? I really love this phone
I recommend getting a refurbished one with a warranty from backmarket or similar
I actually just leaves mines open the majority of the time lol. Close it when its in my pocket but thats it. Work/home etc its open
I think an important thing to mention also although it folds its sort of thick folded. Especially with a case. So if you have this in your pocket, along with a wallet its definitely taking up pocket space as opposed to just a slab phone.
I flip my flip 4 like it is a new born baby. Very gently. Watching you flip it so aggressively is giving me a heart attack 😅

The entire z flip series hasn't existed for 5 years, so no one really knows. I want to say yes, but only time will tell.
After watching this JerryRigEverything video I'm convinced this phone will last 5 years. That's why I just ordered a renewed one for $330 (256gb model). I was never ever going to pay $1000 for a phone. Samsung also promises Android updates for 5 years which is way better than Motorola's 3 years.

No the bubble in the middle and cracks that will come so don’t
After a year the factory issued screen protector has pulled away from the screen, cracked, collects dirt, ruins the image on the screen and makes shooter/aiming games impossible to play because my finger no longer touches the dip in the screen. So yes the folding phone is a problem.
In the phone's warranty fine print it says that have to ship the phone back to Korea to get it fixed as a warranty repair and the reviews for the aftermarket screen protectors were terrible when went looking.
Crease is not issue for me.its normal cause is foldable phone

I'm on the fence about getting the z flip 4 as well. so many bad reviews but it looks so cool. I only have the budget to get 1 phone and it needs to last me 3 to 4 years.
@@obamabinbiden9762 after 3 weeks I can tell you it's performing pretty well. The cameras are really good. I work with social media and they gave me what it needed.
Battery is not enough for a full day of usage, but it's fine. And the phone feels good. It's only my mind that keeps telling me something's gonna happen lol. But I can assure you one thing: Foldables are not meant to last 4 years. Not if you regularly use them. Maybe 2 years.
I am the flip user for almost a year now.sometimes i forget my phone when im sleeping and the next morning its under my body and its still fine.i drop it once and thank god its still fine.only the screen protecter only last for 3 month.u got 3 chance to change it for free.for me its been great.i love my flip.and buy it straight from samsung center.but still u have to be extra careful.

@@DanielsTechStudio fair enough question. The other reasons are the hinge is super fragile and poorly designed, The processor is slowed down by all the bloated software. And simply did not have enough programs to utilize the front display and last not everyone buys a phone for specs sometimes people prefer a rugged design. I am an outdoor type of person and within my thought process I was thinking phone would be more rugged and more protection if it folded? but I was let down because phone is fragile and you have to be very careful or it will break easy in my experience.
Gotcha. That makes sense. Yeah I wouldn't want this for lots of outdoor ruggedness either. I think the flip 5 will have a much more useful front screen (like the moto razr+), but it's still a folding phone and inherently won't be up to the rugged task.

I love that the front screen is small. I have a flip3 btw. I don't want to see everything all the time. Just need to see the time, skip to the next song and see my daily steps. I love that I can close it when using my earphones. It can fall a million times and the main screen is never damaged. I always have a cover. I love how I can just put it up somewhere half folded and it doesn't fall. I use it to put on mascara on the train or calling while on the couch without needing a phone standard to put it in. I just wish the camera would get as good as other cameras.

My flip 4 screen broken after 10months use. Warranty is not claimable cause they diagnosed it as human error.

this phone sucks, there is nothing good about it, if I could get out of the contract I would in a second. Its heavy, especially with case on it, camera sucks, crease in the middle makes scrolling almost impossible......my opinion only, but my family hates it to....................GET RID OF IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And I love the video but I want to correct you if I may. Everything you need to use the phone you don't need to flip it. You can make calls from the screen check the time messages etc . That little screen is very help GG ul

They make really sturdy cases for it. At least if you drop you'll never crack your screen, just the back lol
