Even though I've seen this truck, driven it, hung out on its tailgate.. I'm still once again blown away by your ability to just figure stuff out, reduce complexities into manageable pieces, and deliver results. for example the CDL circuitry is just so obvious to you. can't wait for my next turn behind the wheel of this amazing accomplishment of yours.

Why not use the planetary in the Frontier and make it single-speed like the Leaf?
Because there was already off the shelf adapters for the Nissan 5-speed transmission so it is cheaper and just as good if not better because there are more options for gear ratios.
@@EVSwap How expensive is the Land Cruiser's planetary gearbox if $700 in Brat Industries adapters, a used gearbox and the gearbox rebuild was the economic choice? Seriously. I am pursuing an electric truck of my own and genuinely want to know. I'm also leery of spinning an OE ICE gearbox over 8k RPM long term.
Jimmy do you know if this Speedo gauge can spit out a Tach signal to a dyno test machine? one of the challenges of dynoing electric vehicles is that we can not get Torque readings without the tach signal
Hmm I am not sure. I think Speedhut can make a converter that can do that.
I’m sure you’ve covered this in other videos, but how do you run your air conditioning and other accessory functions?
Right now the Land Cruiser does not have any heat or AC. The Frontier has a PTC heater only. We are looking into aftermarket 12v and 400v AC/heat pump systems but haven't settled on one yet.
