We take our Cybertruck off road all the time. That Land cruiser became useless as an offroad long distance cruiser.

During your presentation you mentioned one of the pros of using a known solid system in the Nissan Leaf components. Can't help but be a little amused you ended up towing a fully custom EV out after the event!

Shots fired on the truck bed size lol, my 2000 Ranger EV is at least the same size! Awesome showing, that Skyline conversion looks sick. Denver was a great choice for SoC as EVs aren't affected by air pressure reducing horsepower.

Jimmy do you know if this Speedo gauge can spit out a Tach signal to a dyno test machine? one of the challenges of dynoing electric vehicles is that we can not get Torque readings without the tach signal

I think I am going to convert my 2003 Prius to EV. It is a relatively low tech car and already set up with electric power steering, brakes etc. I did a lot of work (wheel bearings, sway bar, tie rod ends, suspension overhaul, hybrid battery, brakes, tires) then drove 25 miles and the transmission blew. Considering the engine was already struggling and radiator leaks and exhaust issues this seems like an ideal vehicle right?

An electric Miata would be pretty cool, thinking a leaf swap would be more than stock power, would be a tighter build than the Frontier but cool to see.

I knew the Leaf could tow, but that the motor could be slapped into a larger vehicle with more drive wheels (more loss), then tow another vehicle for a while? That's pretty cool! You have the higher powered Leaf inverter in there right? Being air-cooled, how were the thermals?

The miata looks super clean for sitting around a few years, I'm jealous! Any thoughts on what kind of swap you would do?

First EV swap I saw was a 93 MX5 it was awesome build and handled great. So yes, would love to see your Miata EV converted!

I'm impressed that you were able to tow with the Land Cruiser. I know that electric motors have tow friendly torque characteristics, but the Leaf motor is on the small side. Good luck with the Miata. I had wanted one really bad when they first came out but I was a bit tall for one even then. These days? No way! Have fun!!!

I'm thinking about an old Hyundai H1 where the motor loves to be repaired every two months or so. But where i live in a small island no one does these conversions.
