This EV conversion has been an awesome project; I'd like to know why Dave decided to convert to an EV, how he found you to do the conversion, how much more work needs to be done before the conversion has been completed, and will Dave be commuting to work in the converted truck?
In Colorado we need to get the vehicle inspected by the Sheriff's office who will first and foremost inspect the vehicle to make sure the VIN is correct and the vehicle is not stolen, has no liens, etc. At that time they will also see that it is EV and mark it as electric power. For the DMV all we need is a driver's license, proof of insurance, and the VIN inspection form. There is no safety inspection in Colorado.
@@EVSwap That’s encouraging, thanks. I want to convert an old truck, and I had assumed it would be too difficult to make it road legal. Now I’m curious about the insurance, I wonder how insurance companies price coverage for unique vehicles.
@@EVSwap I have a whole Leaf that I’m planning to dismantle someday (it still drives well but only 10 bars.) So maybe I could reuse the whole brake system?

Yes, using a simple GM vacuum pump for power brakes.
