All the people worried that the morrvair was going to be super heavy - sometimes you need the mass.
I'm almost more impressed by the ropes and soft shackles holding up.
I think it's only about a thousand pounds more than the jeep. Those huge tires are really helping distribute the mass. They created a hell of a rig that's for sure 🤙
The shackle for sure . I thought that might fail . Shame
On me
@@rickshiandmoku4128 That semi tractor is probably something like 12,000 pounds. So, it is only 2.5x the Morrvair, but 3 times the Jeep. When kinetic energy is your tool, that means a heckuva lot. The huge tires help once you are rolling, though. Jeep just would have had to get a little more speed up, but probably would have done this one. Great to see how each change has its pros and cons.
And all the people worried that the MORR crew eats very unhealthy at the gas stations - sometimes you need the mass. Haha. Like in this video where they all had to sit on the back of the trailer. :-)
@@chrisestill8825 No. F=ma. KE=1/2*mv^2, so the speed has a bigger influence than mass in the amount of energy. If you want to get picky, once you've put that energy into the system, the impact of the banana on the end of the rope will still impart a lower percentage of that energy to the truck due to the faster deceleration of the banana, which imparts force for a shorter time, decreasing the impulse on the truck. End result: the banana can do it, but has to travel a little faster so it puts in more energy, so the same force can be imparted to the truck in the end.
I appreciate what a stand-up guy you are. Letting the kids get their minute. The little ones eat that up. I sit down and watch M.O.R. with my 3 and 9 year old sons. They absolutely love it. They took an interest because their daddy operate a wrecker for AAA🇺🇸
Operates a wrecker.
Ya I gave the vid a 👍 because of that
That boy is going to remember this for a long time. I get down on my knees to talk to young kids too. I can listen to them better that way. They are humans too!
Matt and his crew are really classy people.
Stay safe and hug your kids while you still can, they grow fast.
I think we all remember being a kid and how much more fun everything was in general. Anybody with a kind heart would love to see a child re-living what they once lived.
Matt loves the Corvair. We do too.
Reasons to like this channel:
Showing what they do gets views-not begging for subs.
Interesting scenery, adventurous.
Likable, funny crew.
Can learn from their experience.
Good video production.
Consistent uploads.
Awesome machines.
Good family videos.
And the dogs.
@@torinobob yes, I knew I would forget something
From the get go......
I couldn’t agree more...
Agreed!
Good on you for talking to that kid and kneeling down to get on his level.
An old man at my church once said something to the effect of “what a difference it makes when we get down and talk to them face to face”.
NICE comment !!
Comment of the year
No man stands so tall as when he stoops to help a child. Dr. James Dobson.
That really does make a difference! I worked with AWANA Cubbies for a few years, and I spent most of my time sitting on the floor so that I was eye-level with the kids. If you know what to look for, you can definitely see a shift in their perception when you get on their level. When they talked about me, I was "the Great Big Cubbie" - but they didn't hold my size against me.
Never forget your childhood, especially when with kids.
I'm thinking it's going to be a LONG while before anyone sees the limits of the MORRVAIR. Made that look easy!! Good job!
Dunno bout that. I predict the axles breaking on it. Every video ive seen on it. The front axle has way too much bounce. Bouncing when at a stand still still is what breaks axle shafts. Dont care how big the axles are on that. You never wanna see bouncing like that. Everytime the axle jumps up then lands back down putting the tires in a spin then stop suddenly is a ton of force on the bearings and axle shafts
@@jeepsblackpowderandlights4305 no its fine
@@jeepsblackpowderandlights4305 yeah I dont even know much at all about this stuff but I know all the hopping is bad , I would imagine he does as well, it's still new and workin out the bugs. how do you solve that issue?
@@jeepsblackpowderandlights4305 I had a big block ‘67 Chevelle, wide tires in the back, and it suffered from severe wheel hop. I went to a narrower tire, and it stopped the wheel hop, and actually saw a quicker ET in the 1/4 mile. Could Matt’s front end wheel hop, be reduced by a narrower tire? Finding the balance between traction and floatation could be a bear. In a previous video, Matt did comment on his tires, saying the balder the better.
@Iron *Fe* wheel hop is wheel hop. The damage can still be catastrophic
for some reason I liked the 4:23
Matt: "you are not worried about the legs?"
Trucker: "Nope"
It the not my trailer
@@92camarodragcar73 The way he dogs the truck, it must not be his either.
With no load on you could probably pick up that whole trailer and swing it around in the air by one leg.
They're what, 6" box section? They'll be fiiiiine.
They're designed to support a fully loaded trailer, and drivers aren't always gentle when hooking or unhooking a trailer, a little tug like that when the trailer is empty is nothing.
Well done. It was very nice of you guys to take a minute with that little boy. You probably made his day and when he sees himself on CZcams he will watch it a 100 times. You’re good people! Stay safe everyone!
The Corvair is too powerful to be left in the hands of mere mortals.
T-shirt for a kid - such a nice gesture! Greetings from Russia.

Seems like there are more than a few Russian viewers. Do you get these videos recommended to you or something? Just curious.
👍👍👍👌
is it still cold over there?
@@alexanderholzer7392 it popped in my recommendations well over a couple of years ago. Has been a regular viewer ever since.
Wow, that went a lot smoother than it had any right to.
If they brought the Jeep this would've been a 40 minute long video!
@@bane8305 Yup! The Morrvair does bring some extra horsepower to the table! Y'all didn't even need to use the winch! 👍
Morrvair buddy
I was very surprised
I love how Ed always tells us what we just saw. No, really. There's something very re-assuring about it. Thanks Ed!
Greetings from a Brit in Romania, I simply love this channel, love the family and the whole recovery team, and there’s no words to describe how much I love the Morevair, it’s such a beast. Just listen to it growl under load.
Superb recovery, superb video as usual.
Thank you all... stay safe and God bless...❤️🇷🇴🇬🇧👍🏻
Well that was a savage pull. Morrvairs a champ!
Matt’s Recovery Rope is the real champ 💪
If ever there was a “Hold my Mountain Dew” moment...
THIS was it..
Yup. Perfect test for the new toy.
I understand what you're getting at but no absolutely not they on this channel alone have much more worthy content of being a hold my mountain dew moment
@@whyme9501 Thoughts go to any time Matt or Rudy says “shenanigans”
They aren't supposed to drink that at byu
Dogs and little kids make the video much MORR enjoyable. That was very nice of you to give the little guy a T-shirt!
By the looks of Lizzy’s face, I think she was probably working at the shop when this call came in. Maybe welding? She’s not afraid of getting a little dirt on her face. Such a hard worker and an inspiration to all the young women out there wanting to learn what used to be “a man’s job”. You go girl!
matt bending down to talk to the little guy made my heart melt. good on you!
The Morrvair, flagship of the fleet...kicks ass, takes names and looks good...DAMN good!

Enjoy seeing the little kid get that shirt, you could tell he was a big fan of Matt's. Great job guys!
7:35 and 8:15 is one of the reasons your channel does so well. You are so kind to everyone you meet especially the little kids!
"-Do you like that shirt ?"
"-YEPP !" love that reaction. good vid, as usual Matt !
I love this channel. Fun, no or little drama, real people not "real" synthetic people. I tell my friends about this channel constantly. The team is awesome! Hope I make it from CO to Utah this summer to see you guys in action! You guys have a great channel formula.
I told the wife we needed to drive to Utah and get the jeep stuck the other day and she was like what?
Awesome seeing that kid get excited over big trucks and off road stuff. Takes me back to when I was his age. Future gearhead for sure 💪
With that little kid at the end and I know you weren’t necessarily going for this but this video gets the award for cutest video of the year
"grow into it" - I love it!
True Class
Hey Matt, have you thought about holding a weekend meet n greet jamboree in Hurricane where we could come in, enjoy the trails, learn about recovery and do a service project like a Habitat House or working together to build out Ed’s apartment?
I’d love to go for that!, too bad I live on the east coast.
@@user-wo8pp9wi6o Same here. You think you have it bad, I live on the east of the UK!!
I absolutely love watching you all teach me something. Matt you are a great teacher and my whole family takes time out everyday just to watch the show. Thanks from dune city Oregon 😊
So we are flying along in a light aircraft and the wings fall off, Lizzy turns to the camera and says, "This is one of the times gravity doesn't help"
She IS "Blonde" ...... lolol
Got a kick out of that one.
@@ricks.1318 My wife is blonde and is a ER physician at 27 years old :) What do you do?
@@russellwilliams4317 There is a joke: A blonde young lady boards an aircraft and sits down in first class, the hostess asks her to move to her allocated seat and the reply is I'm a princess and travel first class. This creates a delay that causes the captain to inquire,.he responds with let me handle it, my wife is a blonde. The plane is to fly New York to Washington and then on to Florida, so the captain comes back and introduces himself and asks of her travel plans, then whispers in her ear. The young lady jumps up, bright with embarrassment, and rushes down the back. The hostess asks what he said, "Well I told her that first class was not stopping in Washington"
@@russellwilliams4317 Wow are you that sensitive?
Awesome vid. I love the scenery in the beginning from the in-car POV. The sand blown across the highway and the beautiful landscape through the windshield. Watching your channel is making me want to move out West away from the miserable South.
I'll tell you what, slapping a MORR license plate cover on the plates before any filming is ingenious! Saving the editor a ton time too.
All I can say is What a little beast you built!! Jobs like that just make you proud !!
I have to say .... I understand dynamic ropes, but this is still very impressive. The Morvair earning its keep. Two thumbs up to Matt!
Hi Matt and team. Everyday first thing after work I check CZcams to see if there is a new video from you guys. I love what you guys do from South Africa. Wish I can visit your country one day.
"Everything I need to know about Life I Learned in Kindergarten." Matt learned how a see-saw can be used to Lighten a trailer tongue.
I've used this technique on many trailers. Works great.
This is the channel I go to to see the best of humankind. No politics, no aggression, no polarization, just humans doing what made the human race a succes: helping each other out.
What a cute kiddo. Matt is an awesome guy from letting the little guy on the video.
The Morrvair is a beast, being heavier than the Banana I think it gave you an advantage on pulling the truck out. Even the trailer seem to be just as easy itself, great recovery again Matt and crew
Ed always so chill and confident, "we'll get em out"
That's WHY they get 'em out. They have an Ed.
Always the most excellent customer service! From little kids up to adults. You guys rock!
It's always nice to see Lizzy, but when you can see Lizzy and her SISTER together, WOW! that is the best!
Best thing to watch on the start of my vacation weekend. Sipping some coffee and watching the channel!
That's a real trial by fire for the Morrvair, great to see it in action!
I can relate to this recovery. While in Saudi Arabia for Desert Shield, I was on MSR Dodge dragging an empty low-boy towards an assembly area. I don't remember why, but I decided to turn around, in the process I became hung up on the asphalt. Not long after I made the stupid decision a Convoy of Engineers came upon my location and dragged my truck and trailer off the road.
Thanks Matt for uploading this video, and thank you even more for allowing the boy to be a part of this video.
enjoy watching matt and his old man together with the team , the wagon really is great set up
I've commented too many times now but Ed makes the show! I love matt and eds amazing friendship. Thank you for all the amazing content!!
In today's video Matt works a miracle, moves a small mountain and defies the laws of physics. Why am I not surprised?
He’s got some older videos that are even crazier pulling big trucks
@@markg1495 hi do you recall the BUS? 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
@@flybyairplane3528 I do. And the driver 🤦
MORRVAIR is looking unbeatable. Equally impressive, MATT’S YELLOW ROPE. What an awesome matching, add the team, unbeatable. 👍👍👍
Well done Matt the Morrvair made pulling out a semi and a trailer separately look easy.
This is the biggest recovery you have done that I know of
Keep up the great work
💙Right on that's cool give the kid a shirt didn't look like it was too much bigger.
600 lbs ("a whole bunch of weight" 😄) on the rear end, levered against the length of the trailer, produces about 2 lbs of lift on the front end. I thought they maybe they were going to drive the white truck on the back.
It's the idea that counts 😉
I was thinking heave a couple of those side by sides that were sitting around on the back for some more weight!
Wouldn’t that have been an unexpected use of Jefe’s F-150, as a counter weight on that trailer?
If they could have figured out a way to get it up there of course
Sometimes an extra 2 lbs of lift is all you need.
@@CyberSERT
Every little helps, as Matt said, won’t do no harm... 🤣🇷🇴🇬🇧👍🏻
I kinda thought he was going to nose up to one of the legs and cinch hook the winch line around the bottom of it and use the winch to lift some of the weight while he just backed up
That is incredible! Love my rope and shackle. Thank you Matt's Off Road Recovery!
Truck driver is wearing a Demolition Ranch shirt and a Smile More hat! That's awesome. Also the sound of that Corvair is just phenomenal.
First thought: not gonna happen. We'll see. Now that's amazing!! Out it comes. Awesome.
In just a couple of tugs!
Made it look stupidly easy.
Looks like the next vehicle build needs to include a goose neck.
Or a couple more Ed's so they can just pick it up
6x6 to eh lol Hennessy build hahaha
What size rope was it ?
Funny how kids can sense whos going to be good to them. Love watching Matt and crew with people, how they blur out names and plate numbers and don't embarrass anyone. This shows these are good people.
Great video Matt. You guys are the best. Thank you grandpa Ed for the reports. Thank you from California.
Pulling a semi in loose footing is impressive! I notice the front axle hops when pulling; have you thought about testing out new anti-squat/anti-dive values by using some adjustable 4-link brackets on the axle? Great videos and I'm eager to see some more build videos.
Matt you guys make it look so easy! Love it!
I envoy you Matt , keep it together , you have a good thing going , you have friends , family around you and that is gold in it self , my wife and I have lost everyone these last 5 yrs , I look forward to watching your next vid always ,,, be safe .
Happens to a lot of us the older we get. At least we still have the memories.
"We'll get em out." Ed is awesome.
I got a bonus recovery, there was a yankum ropes add with Matt in the middle of this video!
That was almost one of those sled pulls ;) I love the Morvair exhaust note.
Minnesota love you Matt and the crew! so giving and heart warming .I love/injoy watching u and the gang
What a class act and as professional as possible tha ks for another great recovery
If not for video and youtube his buddies would never believe it. "No, really y'all -- it was a Corvair!"
My eyebrows went up when I saw the tractor. But then I thought "They'll get em out!"
That's coz they have the ED factor!
That morrvair thing is an absolute beast. Compliments for the build.
You boys bare the cold, the heat and driving winds to make sure everyone gets home. Nice
That little kid was happy. And Ed wasn't lying about the wind! Where's Randy at?
Yeah where is he we haven't seen him lately
The Morrvair does what it was built to do. It is a pretty amazing build.
it sounds awesome too!
Matt and his friends seem like such good people. I wish everyone would watch this channel instead of arguing with each other on social media.
MATT, Hello, I though I was NOT sure you sait TRACTOR TRAILER ! Wow, what the heck did he get there ?LOST ? Well MATTS OFF-ROAD RECOVERY SAVED THE DAY,
That's exactly where I'd take a semi too 🤣🤣
This probably isn't exactly what you had in mind when you said the Morvair and the Banana had their intended uses.
This is probably the exact thing he had in his mind!
@@bane8305 Yeah, that's sorta what I MEANT to say.
The Morvair does it again! What a team you have there.
I can't wait to see the largest tow truck when it goes to work. As the Morvair and Banana have shown, you know how to engineer great rescue vehicles. The heavy wrecker will be another example of your skills. Say hi to the team for me and you all be safe and healthy.

Nice!
If you guys do do the big ass military truck build i bet recoveries like this would be a pure breeze
Or just go back to the days when Casey and Matt worked together. Each have their strengths when it comes to equipment and approach. Hate to see the riff.
From the video of them testing one out, likely not, much too slow to be practical.
@@BenKickert I must have missed that. What happened?
@@johnhpalmer6098 Much too slow IN THE SAND. But this was basically a gravel road just off the pavement. Would have been a perfect deployment for a 5 tone.
@@Archemedes95 Some sort of falling out. If you go back a couple years, you will see Matt and Casey working together all the time. Casey has now started his own similar channel and you don't see any cross overs anymore.
I must say the Morvair sounds great with some load, as your pulling that trailer out.
Wow! Massive recovery! Who needs an old military 6x6?
Love Ed's recap. So classic.
Never had any doubt that the MORRVAIR was up to the task. I would have been more surprised if it couldn't do the job.👍🏽
Who needs a 5 Ton when you have the MORRVAIR?
Just want to say how impressive this is! Nice work!
The look on that little boys face when the Corvair roared up on site. Pure loving gold right there.
That rescue looked like a David versus Goliath match up!
Or the fable of the lion and the mouse.
That Morrvair is one impressive vehicle in more ways than one. Between its capabilities and Matt’s knowledge and ingenuity they can do a lot more than most would think they could
I'm a trucker and I'm impressed. Some slick work.
Never fails to impress! What a great group of people.
As somebody who drives a tractor-trailer for a living, I have many questions.
Me too. I've got a bunch of miles running BLM and private "roads" toting a 48' spread flat. Never had a trailer turn so fast when backing that I couldn't catch it on a road that size.
As someone who knows nothing about tractor-trailers, I too have a lot of questions about how this really happened.
@@TheMrmoc7 The sand is soft and he was traveling slightly up hill. When he's spun out he tried to back up to get another run with more momentum. The trailer was starting to turn off to one side. He stopped and tried to pull forward and he spun out. So he backed up a little more and the trailer will go more sideways. Try to pull forward again and he's spun out again. Every time he would try to back up a little to get unstuck the trailer would go more sideways. Then he decided to unhook the trailer to try to get on firmer ground with the tractor. Now he has all of his weight on the skinny tires in the front and with out the weight of the trailer on the back the dual rear tires set on top of the sand with no traction and plows the heavy front end down in the sand. Then you're just spinning the rears and they bury themselves too. That's exactly how that happened.
@@Ares-jx4ep He didn't just jackknife the trailer in one fail swoop. When he spun out he was trying to back up a little to get another run. Every time he would back up a little at a time the trailer would just get further and further out of shape. Then he decided to unhook to get the tractor on more solid ground and he buried it. It's always best to stay under your trailer. Without it you have no traction with duals. I was getting unloaded at a job site and it was a muddy sloppy mess. Watched another driver trying to get unstuck. His trailer was actually in pretty decent shape but his tractor was in softer mud. He was trying to get turned around and spun out. He got the bright idea if he dropped his trailer and came at it from a different angle he could get himself unstuck. As soon as he pulled out from under and he was done. Now he had the whole freaking thing blocked and I had to sit there for 3 hours till the tow truck come and got him out.
I was thinking more, what was he doing there in the first place.
Well we always have MORR damn fun here !
🍻
Got addicted to this channel have to watch one every day, and learn something new every day 😀😀
