I got in and explained what happened and then there was an uncomfortable silence then one said to the other "shall we do it to him?" then they both started laughing but it was sinister as fuck and then they just looked at each other. I felt they were deciding my fate and whatever it was it was not good. For the first time in my life I was genuinely scared because until that point I thought police were cool. After a few minutes they told me to get out and fuck off. 1) The journey had already started ie. Seatbelts on, engine started, (possibly hand break off) - so [Planton vs. DPP] the driver is indeed “driving”. Thus she is guilty of the offence: 6 points and £250 fine. She should be reported for said offence and disciplined too.
    2) Idling whilst stationary. An offence, albeit minor.
    3) Anyone can park on double yellow lines for up to 2 minutes to drop off or collect a passenger. I suspect this was a lot longer than 2 minutes.
    4) Can they park on double yellows - yes, they can brake any RTA 1988 offence provided it’s wholly, exclusively and necessary in the course of POLICE work. The moment he said it was not police activity (getting a sandwich) it became an offence. Albeit minor.

I worked on the refurbishment of Tavistock House for British Transport Police and the head officers who were entitled to a separate office, went around measuring the offices to make sure that a junior officer didn't get a big office than themselves. They were so obnoxious and petty, demanding things to be altered all the time and one senior idiot wanted me to move a wall back four inches. He wasn't very happy when I said no, demanded that I obeg him. I therefore advised him if he could write and sign an instruction to me, because we would have to move a 5/6 storey structural brick gable end of a large Victorian building. He walked off muttering under his breath and I heard nothing further.
What I found funny about the interaction, is that I was a very junior member of the design team and had no authority to instruct the works, my immediate boss, could only do that.
The police hierarchy were more concerned about making themselves very comfortable and not interested in policing, but the masons are a funny lot.😂

I rarely go into my city's city centre now, but I used to go there every single day, mainly to use the library computers, and would see multiple Police cars parked illegally in taxi ranks, on public footpaths, in the middle of traffic lights, and on double Yellow lines for hours at a time, doing the same thing.
Where exactly were they parked illegally?
Right next to City Hall, whose parking wardens did nothing about it.
What were the ones that I managed to spot leaving their cars parked illegally usually doing?
Going for their lunch, which as I said would usually last for hours as they'd still be sat eating and drinking in the same takeaways and restaurants, after I'd been in the library and/or shopping for 2+ hours.
Where should they park when they're going for lunch?
In the multiple nearby shopping centre car parks, retail park car parks, bus station car parks, railway station car parks, hotel car parks, leisure centre car parks etc
On Christmas Eve 2019 at around 12am, I saw 20+ Police vehicles park on my 1 mile long road, which contained over 40 Police officers, to arrest 1 skinny burglar.
As I live on a main road, which is part of the main ring road around the main city, it's usually full of traffic and parked cars, but as it was Christmas Eve the road was empty for a change...
Still that didn't stop the majority of those vehicles parking on blind corners of a cross roads, in the middle of traffic lights blocking off one side of the road, and in the middle of those diagonal White lines...
Breaking the law and forcing the few cars that were out to risk their own lives, by driving on the wrong side of the road into oncoming traffic, through traffic lights at a cross roads, where there's a blind corner that cars usually turn around without stopping.
They had the burglar face down on the floor straight away without a fight, yet still had 8 officers surrounding him for 10+ minutes, even though the main van was just metres away.
They didn't need 8 officers, never mind 40.
What were the other 32+ officers doing, while the burglar had his face squashed into the pavement for 10+ minutes?
They were stood around in the middle of the road having a chat and a laugh, with no concern that their illegal parking might cause a crash at a crossroads.
Not only that, there was room for 100+ cars to park legally, yet they all think they can do what they want.

Do you know that grants and promises of fines and forfeitures before conviction are illegal and void?
Fines and forfeitures are covered under Section 8, sub-section 12 of the Imperial Acts. This is where the phrase; “All promises of fines and forfeitures of particular persons before conviction are illegal and void” originated.
That means until you have been convicted of something by a court all fines are illegal, including speeding fines, parking fines, red light camera fines, infringement notices, expiation notices, failure to vote fine, failure to register dog fines and any other type of fine you can name, are "all are completely illegal."

The gentleman in the blue suit was great. Although he used the word "taking" a picture (negative connotation), when talking about the camera, he used the word "positioning" (the correct word for a passive device) rather than "pointing" or "aiming" (a word associated with active devices such as flashlights or guns and again negative). He is obviously a thinker. I liked him a lot and believe he would be excellent at training the blue line thugs on public photography. Another great audit.

They're the lot who harassed Ian Puddick on behalf of a private security company. They fitted him up with dozens of crimes and tried to ruin his life. He beat them.

Surely something has to be done to raise the shockingly low standard of sarcasm in the police. You'd hear better in the playground.

Parking on a pavement in London is against the law, no emergency call no special ability to ignore that law.
It just goes to show though, you mention PS/IOPC and they laugh because they know they are protected by the very fact the police police themselves so are never in the wrong.

I can understand why the security agents ask so many questions, because I did the SIA and the Counter-Terrorism course, but I don't understand why they apply badly what they learned. I don't understand why they hiding IDs in front of a camera because no personal data appears there and it's already filmed you anyway, so why are you hiding it? And if you apply what you learned in the SIA course, apply it in a way that does not violate the constitution and human rights. If you want to do your job well, and you see someone filming, and you think that person is "suspicious", go and ask nicely and civilly why he is filming, if he is evasive or refuses to answer, and you STILL YOU HAVE A SUSPICION, CALL THE POLICE, write what you saw, time, etc ... AND THAT'S ALL. I don't understand what this panic to some security agents, others think they're cops, others think they're the defenders of the universe .... chill, your not. Do your job well, don't do more than necessary, go home ... and call the day.
