    Really great and informative video Samson, I think it's so interesting how the hue of purple shifts when this film is rated at different ISO's. Keep it up, you have got yourself a new subscriber !

    Beautiful portraits! Thank you for the information. I thought that it was my fault that the film didn’t roll up tight. Good to know that it wasn’t…:) I will try the purple lomography! Looks like a lot of fun!

    Black & White infra red film is still available, it gives a nice white foliage dark sky look. You typically use a cut off filter that blocks out all of the white light, and have to use very long exposures, and it only really works in bright sunlight, getting the correct exposure is something of a lottery.

      @@Caballeroshot yeah.. I guess.. I’m gonna try shooting at 100 ASA, hopefully that’ll leave the skin tones more natural looking. How’s your experience been with it Alex?

  • @patrickmonkman8151

    Sick video, this might sound like a dumb question but how would it perform in a point and shoot where you can't set iso and it doesn't have a code to be read by the camera?

  • @clouds-through-a-window8942

    This video could’ve been half as long if you didn’t keep repeating yourself ...
    But super awesome photos dude , I’ve been wanting to shoot portraits with lomochrome purple myself , glad to see it turned out so well!

    • @SamsonArnettRoughley
      @SamsonArnettRoughley  Před 3 lety

      Yes! Not sure what the camera will meter for though... Maybe shoot the film in different lighting conditions to get a varied hue of purple?

    • @contaxpaulharrison942
      @contaxpaulharrison942 Před 3 lety

      Most compacts use the DX code on the film to set the ISO. Lomo 35mm films tend not have a DX code, so the camera will use a default value, that should be in the camera manual. If your compact does not support exposure compensation or manually setting the film speed, you are stuck with whatever value is the default for Non-DX coded film for that camera.

    Interesting that that photo at 3:55 shot at 400 looks brighter than the one shot at 100. It should be the other way around right? Did you shoot the rest of the photos in the field at 100 or 400? What about the portraits of Rudi and Freddie?

    • @SamsonArnettRoughley
      @SamsonArnettRoughley  Před 3 lety

      Adjusted shutter speed to account for different iso, so they should look the same in terms of brightness. Can't remember now haha sorry.

    Why oh why does EVERY video seemingly HAVE to have background music over it? Yours started off so promisingly, just you talking with no background music... Hurrah! But no, true to the form of every other film instructional video by everyone else, that plink plink, plonk plonk piano music inevitably started and ruined the experience for me
