  • A must-visit Summer destination for your Hungary Travels is Lake Balaton and it's Badacsony region! If you enjoy excellent Wine, enjoy hiking in Nature then the Badacsony Region is a great choice!
    Badacsony is a unique region of Lake Balaton in Hungary. The unique greenish-blueish colored lake is one of the most popular destination for Hungarians to visit, and the Badacsony region is one of my favorite ones from the many places around it! It has so much to offer: Mountains to hike, amazing wine to drink and tasty food to try! So if you plan to visit Lake Balaton when traveling to Hungary, this area should be on your itenary!
    We visited the Badacsony region for 3 days and try to explore as much of the area as possible! On Day 1, we hiked up to the Badacsony mountain, tried to get some nice views of the region and the Balaton lake. We also got some nice snacks from a local bakery-cafe.
    Then as we descended from the mountain we stopped by some local wineries to get a taste of the local grapes: Szürkebarát, Olaszrizling and Kéknyelű. If you are a fan of white wine, you will love this region!
    We also checked out the beach to relax a bit after the long hike and finally we tried one of the best restaurants of the town we stayed.
    Badacsony is a geographically unique area of Hungary, if you look at a map you will see many vulcano shaped mountains in the area. That similarity is no accident. Many of these mountains used to be vulcanoes and thanks to this, the soil of the region is very good for wine making!

    We certainly had a lot of fun recording our first day, but as you can see from the video it was also very exhausting 😃 Luckily a lot of wine was there for us to ease the pain in our legs 😃 Have you visited Lake Balaton before? Do you have any favorite memories or places from the region? Tell us below!

    I have watched your every single movie about Budapest, beer tasting and now continue with the Balaton region. Hungary you bring us is so colourful country. I'm happy to have worked four months in Budapest many years ago, coming back for a few days in September and can't wait. Thanks for your cheerful videos. All the best! 👍👍👍

    I really love the Badacsony region! And we actually did almost exactly the same hike there, only the other way round. I still remember very vividly going uphill: it was very hot and sweaty and Anyó (our Kuvasz) got most of our water. So we setttled for a nice Szürkebarát (my favourite white wine) in a winery appropriately called “Horváth Kert” (no family ties 😜).

      Indeed taking the hike here during summer is not the greatest idea due to the heat, but hey, those glasses of Szürkebarát definately help 😅 I also grew fond of those kind of whites while we were here 😊

    Hungarian wine is outstanding. Also… don’t forget Slovakia wine! In Strekov they make absolutely amazing wines!

    Balaton is nice. Lovely region. Very graphic, unique and picturesque. Nonetheless,I went for a dive,and I have to say, it was bad. Maybe as a Greek, Greek beaches have spoiled me 😅. But it was a nice experience. Not going to lie. Balaton is great

      @StuffedCabbageAdventures  Před rokem +1

      Well from a water perspective it is very difficult to compete the crystal clear waters of Greece :D Diving here may be risky especially as the waters are shallow :) But still happy to hear you had a nice experience overall :)
